Our stop was on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Hubby and I made a stop at the rest area as we needed to stretch our legs and use the restroom. We had a long ways to go from here. Ladies restroom was clean, enough toilet paper, good running water in sinks. It was raining during our stop and we made it as quick as possible not to get wet but enough to stretch our legs. Thanks!

Conveniently located off the Interstate 99 in Tulare Ca. The parking is ample and the restrooms were clean and well stocked. There were a few vending machines with snacks and drinks. Nice dog area as well.

This rest stop has recently been remodeled… and it looks great! Plenty of well maintained restrooms – which are sufficiently bright to not be creepy at night, as well as artistic displays that brighten the space and educate passerbys on the rich agricultural history of the valley. Oh and vending machines that work! Our toddler had plenty of interesting little paths to run along and get her energy out before we kept going. If you don’t want to stop at a gas station, fast food diner or truck stop, this is a great option!

There are actually two rest areas, one northbound, one southbound. We stopped at the southbound rest area in July 2015. It was clean and well-maintained.

For being a broke state, California sure does a nice job at its Highway 99 rest stops. This one is extra fine, with many colorful, tall and wide panels depicting San Joaquin Valley history.

Nice Stop in Tulare SITREP Can’t complain — this place had the basics for my 10 minutes relationship with it. THESETUP I’m starting to notice a pattern with the California Hwy 99 /I-5 rest stops. The directions neatly divide the car traffic parking away from the Truck &RV traffic parking. [Seems something we take for granted now, but I can only imagine the headaches that must have hit our grandparents, trying to dodge around large Mack Tracks and Desert Fox RVs plowing threw. RESTROOM Neat, clean and there was actually a maintenance/custodian person on hand at this one, so it was obvious they are well-attended to. PICNICTABLES&VENDING If you need to stop and take a break, get some soda, a munchie, you also have a place to sit down. THELOWDOWN A nice stop in Tulare.

This place is great. Not only is there restrooms, which are clean by the way. But you have the choice to grab a snack or drink, which they were running low but then again it was a Sunday at around 3pm. I’m sure many many people already were here over the weekend to claim the drinks & snacks. Great information regarding local and state accomplished people.

This is a very nice rest stop along the 99. It was well maintained and clean. It was also just a very relaxing rest stop in general with nice grass waving in the wind with a nice view of nice green land. PLUS it had a ice cream vending machine!

Should I really review a rest stop? Well, it was clean and located on the freeway. I can’t think of anything else to say about it.

I was headed North on the 99 Freeway when the Venti Starbucks drink suddenly hit my bladder all at once. I pulled into the rest stop on the East side of the freeway around noon seeking a restroom, a place to stretch my legs, and a little relief from the heat. This was absolutely the nicest rest area I’ve ever stopped at. There was an abundance of parking both for autos(to the right) and for trucks(to the left). The restrooms were almost immaculate. There were Xlerator hand dryers(no paper towels) so there was no mess anywhere. There is a large semi-shaded plaza area with concrete bench seating and a photo history of the area displayed prominently between the two restrooms. There was a latticework of what appear to be solar power collection cells. Very green of them. There were three different shade structures, each with 4 covered picnic tables. They had dividers to give each picnic table area a modicum of privacy. There were signs directing people to an area designated especially for dogs on leashes. There is even an area away from the main structures with a sign indicating that RV’s and trailers could dump their — ahem — waste there. The only things not quite idyllic were the snack and drink vending machines which were all completely empty. I’m not sure who’s responsible for keeping them stocked but it looks like they’re not even trying. In spite of the lack of food and beverages for purchase, this rest stop still blows all the rest of them out of the water so I gave it 5 stars.

One of the cleanest restrooms in a rest area I have been to. You’ve got the beautiful farmlands in the background and the many artworks and historical points of the area while you stop to stretch your legs before continuing on with your journey. A must see, if you ever find yourself driving along the 99 freeway.
