History
Established in 2011.
The New Delhi Deli is inside a small grocery store built in the 30’s on the old 99 highway (hence the name — the 99 Food Market). The original owners built the store after the great depression, and it catered mostly to farmers around the area. They had tools, a meat section, and even local charge accounts (that we still have today). When the freeway got moved around Tulare in the 50’s and bigger stores opened up nearby, our customer base has slowly changed. Over time numerous bars, motels, and restaurants have opened nearby, and we have become more of a neighborhood store specializing in Indian Groceries.
