Description

Specialties

We specialize in authentic home-cooked Mexican food using fresh ingredients and family kept secret recipes. Our Menudo is the highlight our establishment.

History

Established in 2008.

After 20 years in a family owned establishment, Mike and his wife Sofia Vejar started their own restaurant in 2008. They have grown to be one of the première Mexican restaurants in the county and have proven this within a short time span of 5 years by winning back to back county menudo contests and other awards.

Meet the Business Owner

Michael V.

Business Owner

Mike grew up in and around the kitchen of great cooks like his grandmother and mother. His early years growing up in West Texas, introduced him to «great home cooking.» From the time his family moved to Tulare, the Vejar Family has established a reputation for great Mexican cuisine in the community. Mike began working in the kitchen and found that his passion for cooking was not by chance, but by his creativity and love for food.

After years of working in the family restaurant, Mike decided to further his cooking abilities by completing formal training at the Culinary Arts School in Clovis, Ca. With the love and support of his wife Sofia and children, family, friends, neighbors and the grace of God, Mikey V’s Café was open in 2008.
