Be Gold, Get Gold Elite Event @ Tulalip Resort & Casino

Dear Katy’s boss:
I’m sorry I’m a slacker and just now posting this review, but I was overwhelmed by how awesome the event was, and I didn’t know where to start.
I know you read these things, so this is for you!
I’ve been Elite in 6 different cities (Seattle, London, San Francisco, San Diego, Boston) and I have to say that the events in Seattle are by far the worst I’ve ever seen.
HA! (sorry Katy, if you’re reading and that gave you a heart attack).
Ok, seriously, Katy’s boss, I can say unequivocally that Seattle’s community and events are the most awesome-​est, like, ever! And you have Katy to thank for building this community from a fledgling group of mish-​mash Unilocalers into a shining example of open-​arm cohesiveness.
You would think my top events would be all in SF, but you’d be wrong. This one definitely tops the list, along with the” all Unilocal” party at the Design Center. Of course, SF did squeak in with a third place winner with the producer showing of Food, Inc. but Seattle in terms of Unilocal cities is the top of my list *heart*
But back to the matter at hand. I don’t know how Katy did it, but she got us the serious red carpet treatment at Tulalip, endless streams of food and alcohol (which I much appreciate eventhough I don’t drink) and as a member somewhat new to the community I got to meet all the cool kids.
It truly was fabulous and I want you, Katy’s boss, to know that she (and her events) are supremely awesome and she should get a promotion at your earliest convenience. :-)

What a fantastic event! I’ve told Elite members from other cities about this and they’re all jealous!
I thought it was a brilliant idea for Gold Elite members to be invited to such an exclusive and high-​end event and then for open slots to be taken by Elite members (via lottery — lucky me.) It was a great mix of people (and inspiration to keep Unilocaling to become Gold).
From the booze bus ride to good company to fabulous fooding for 8-​hours and black jack lessons, everything was top notch.
Thank you Talulip Resort & Casino; thank you Unilocal; and THANK YOU KATY! I had such a blast and felt right at home with my peeps that take pictures of their food before digging in.

This was an ambitious and well executed event! From the plush charter bus with wine/​beverage service (I had a couple of glasses before we even got the event. Lush, much? Yeah!), tours of the conference and ball rooms, the lavishly appointed luxury suite, and wonderful food and wine pairings; Katy and Tulalip’s hospitality team slam dunked this inaugural Gold Elite Event!
I won’t rehash what many have eloquently said, but to highlight some my favorites:

Buffalo Chicken Mac-​N-​Cheese
Fried Dungeness Crab Legs
Northwest Berry Salad — I found that the combo of the candied hazelnut with berries tasted like a berry cobbler! Tasty!
Kosta Browne Pinot Noir
Almond Joy Sundae
I don’t think I will be eating much of anything today because I had so much yesterday!
As always, it was great hanging out and catching up and meeting fellow Goldies! It really does pay to be golden!

ME BEFORE EVENT DURING AFTER

Review number 300.
What could be more appropriate for my 300^th review than to talk about the amazing Elite Event that I had the honor of attending, along with my fellow Unilocalers, at the Tulalip Resort and Casino!
The bus ride to and from the casino was very comfortable and we were even served some adult beverages that were served in plastic cups that looked just like fancy glassware! That was my first clue that the Tulalip staff must have been informed ahead of time to prepare for our rag tag group of rowdy reviewers.
Once we got to the resort, we were given a tour of the various features that the hotel offers including the beautifully designed meeting spaces that can accommodate large scale events like Super Bowl parties as well as smaller, more intimate meetings, events, and various wedding packages.
Next was a quick trip through the spa area where we unfortunately did not get to indulge in any of these luxurious amenities although I was with that since I had just shaved and clipped my nails the day before. We were of course encouraged to come back to the resort at a later date to experience the wonders of their pampering services.
What happened next is something I am not fully prepared to explain in full detail as, while being taken through four amazing locations including a full suite, two restaurants, and a lounge, our group was treated to what seemed like an endless supply of amazing food and drink offerings.
All I know is that we had hors d’oeuvres, appetizers, an entrée, and then a dessert ensemble and everything we had was top of the line stuff. I can’t think of anything that I thought was just average or mediocre.
Once we were finished gorging ourselves on the gigantic piles of deliciousness, the gracious resort staff rolled and/​or carted us out on to the gaming floor where we could either take a blackjack training course or we could just hit the tables on our own. After a few hands at the practice tables to warm up, a few of us found a live table to sit at and I was fortunate enough to walk away with ten dollars more than I started with.
So, what we’re saying here is that the Tulalip Resort and Casino paid me ten dollars to eat their amazing food, drink their delicious wines and champagnes, and take an exclusive tour of their facility?!
I will take that bet every day of the week.
All kidding aside, this has to be the best Elite Event that I have had the privilege of experiencing and everyone else that I talked to and hung out with during our trip seemed to feel the same way.
Thank you very much to the entire staff at the resort, to Unilocal for allowing us to enjoy these experiences, to my fellow Elites for enjoying it all with me, and of course to Katy H for putting together yet another unbelievable event.

Oh Lawd that was huge! Non stop entertainment, excellent and wonderfully thought out food, and the Tulalip suite? My my.
Thank you Tulalip Casino & Hotel, Katy, Allen and my fellow golds. What a day!
I’m reserving a weekend for my wife’s birthday — immediately!

Seriously the best elite event I’ve ever been to. From the awesome cushy bus ride with wine to the incredible selection of food to the tour of the casino and resort. Awesome job Katy and all the people at Tulalip Resort. Did I mention a completely unexpected swag bag? Killer.
And seriously I want to come back here again, especially for the spa and hotel. Had no idea the hotel and restaurants were so nice. There was a suite bigger than my house with a bar in it for crissakes.
A little smokey in the actual casino but that didn’t end being that big a deal.
Totally worth all the reviews I had to write to get the invite :)
