The Home Depot

My mom went to this store this past week and worked with a lady in the tile department to determine which tile she needed to get to match the tile we bought in Sept of last year and get it delivered to her house today. While trying to find out what time the tile would be delivered, my mom realized that the WRONG tile had been ordered. So even though my mom picked the right sample tile, and gave it to the lady who, «worked in the tile department for 15 years,» the lady rang up the sale under the wrong SKU. My mom, unfortunately, didn’t think to check the order before she left the store. So she had to call the delivery place, have that order cancelled since they couldn’t reschedule the deliver until Tuesday. Then we had to go down to the store to get a refund and get the right tile. The return desk neither apologized, or offered to get the right tile for us. And when asked about getting help, the gal (Ash) said, «we can’t do it all.» What!!! So then we get the 12 boxes of tile, pay, and ask again for assistance in getting to and in the car. We stood around for 10 minutes waiting for help that never came. Finally gave up, got it into the car ourselves and went home. Where is the customer service?
**Update** One of the boxes was missing 3 tiles, so my mom called the store up and spoke to the lady who messed up the order in the first place. She said that we can come back in and she will make sure we get the three tiles «at no charge.» Uh, we paid for them already so why would there be a charge??? We came back the next day, and she hadn’t even looked to see if they had any boxes available… We had to wait for them to pull down from storage… Only redeeming part of this trip was that she gave us a partial refund for all the trouble. 10%. Now we are headed to the Home Depot in Issaquah to get 3 more boxes and a few other things. I know the money all goes to the same Corp Giants, but this store needs to change and we will go out of way just for the principle of the matter.

As a small business owner that specializes in quality renovations and/​or new construction of mid to high end Residential housing, this is my second favorite of the big box stores. A nice selection of stuff usually very helpful customer service. This location can get pretty busy during the day and can effect one’s view of the store. Good time to go is late afternoon and then again towards closing if you want to blast through the store with no lines and experience better customer service.
This particular location is about the same distance to me as the Bellevue store at 7 miles away. It’s located just east of Southcenter Mall and west of IKEA. Plenty of parking, but not much else close-​by.
I buy from here a lot and although it’s not a real lumber yard like: Lumber Market or Dunn Lumber. It’s best to go to when I want a little bit of everything at one place. $ 75 shipping for a semi flat bed truck to deliver is very good. Also, visiting the Home
website for additional items is also quite good and have it all shipped to the store for free pickup or bundle with a another delivery for the same flat $ 75 works good too. If they are out of stock, it’s usually been easy to ask someone and they will do another store search right there on the spot. Prices are good.

Service here has always been great. People really go out of their way to make sure you get what you need or if they don’t have what you need, they help you find an alternative.
I appreciate the customer service and also the selection of goods at a reasonable price. We’ve purchased items for our yard and home here over and over and always have a good experience. Plus the they are dog friendly so our pups can accompany us

So really watch the prices when you buy appliances here. In the middle of Oct. they had the best price on the stove I wanted… I ordered it.2weeks later they raised the price @$ 200.a week later they lowered it @$ 300.i took my reciept back and got the difference on the price I paid and the current sale price…:0)

Yah! We almost always have received excellent help at this HD and do much of our house/​fix up type purchases here. We recently, for the first time, rented something from their rental department and we worked with Daniel W. He was easy going, knew his stuff, and was very helpful. We were a bit nervous about renting machinery, but his demeanor was really good, even while he was working with someone who didn’t know too much (he could have made me feel dumb due to the level of our rental).
Even or return was easy. Daniel was there, but unavailable, and a gent named Chris (maybe?) was making the desk. He was very helpful with the customers in front of us, and we got the same solid treatment.
This experience will keep us coming back.
Good job Home Depot, keep up the good work!
P. S. I had called a week before renting, and they were very nice then too, which is why we rented. They took time on the phone explaining costs and sizes of tools and the process of renting. That effort on the front end made a world of difference.

I was looking for an air conditioner and the one that I wanted was not in store. So one of the associates ordered it for me. I used the tracking information given to follow my package and the date of arrival changed a couple of times. When I looked closer, on one day it said it was in Seattle, the next in Tukwila, and then it said it was back in Seattle. I called the store to see why it would be shipped back and the associate told me that it wasn’t and it had been waiting at the store for the last couple of days. I received no call, no email, and my tracking information was inaccurate. It also happened to be one of the hottest weeks and I was without an air conditioner that I paid for and could have picked up days prior.

The worst Home Depot I have ever been to. The guy in charge of flooring is terrible. Bad customer service!

Horrible customer service. We bought a pallet of sod from them and the cashier didn’t call anyone to load the pallet in our truck. I asked a different cashier to call someone and still no one came. finally after I walked down to the pro center they finally found someone to load me. We didn’t use all the sod so I returned it an hour before closing. I had 7 rolls of sod on the pallet. After doing the return the cashier called 4 different numbers all telling him they couldn’t help. the manager told me to go wait by my truck. I walked passed a male and female employee standing around «flirting» and thought I bet that’s the guy that’s supposed to unload me. after 20 minutes I went back in to find the manager and she told put her hands up and told me someone was coming i finly had enough and put the sod on the ground and was setting the pallet down when that flirting employee came out to go and get the forklift. Then the manager makes some excuse about how she is on lunch and helping the best she can. If your on lunch go to the breakroom. Don’t expect me to give you a break when your on the floor in your uniform. When I started to tell her my concerns about her employees she turned around and walked away. Awesome customer service.

Every time we go to this home depot it has been a good experience. Although sometimes it’s hard to find an employee around to ask questions. When we do ask someone, they have always been helpful, if they don’t know the answer, they either help us connect with the right person to talk to, or do some research to help us.
I really like the paint department’s employees. Most of them are always informative, and would be more than happy to help you or recommend which products to go with.
We purchased our hard wood floor here before and they were very quick on helping us loading the wood onto our truck. We also ran into some issues with the customer service desk before (we were told on 2 different occasions the wrong information regarding opening a credit card with home depot, which I wont get into), but when we spoke with the manager on duty that day, he was able to give us a solution to resolve the problem and we were satisfied with that.
The only reason I dread going to this home depot is because it has the same drive way with Costco, so if you go around 4 — 6pm on weekdays or on any day on the weekends, it’s super packed and sometimes can be hectic sitting through all that traffic just to buy one of two thing (s). Other than that, I would say good customer service!

what can you say its a box store ! but this store has a great selection and friendly staff
rarely are they out of stock on an item i am looking for. if you get the right person they are mostly knowledgable on the subject you are talking about, i cant say i have had a bad visit to this store would go here before the west seattle store every time

I am constantly having to find things for myself at this location. A few times I have even had someone tell me that they didn’t have a particular bolt that I found on my own looking for something that could possibly work and the bolt I found was exactly what I was looking for!

It is hit or miss with knowledgable people. But when one person didn’t seem to know much on the subject someone else came, and they greet you at the door.

Home Depot had everything we needed for our moving experience and the sales associate were more than willing and able to show us around the store.

We walked around for a good twenty minutes looking for someone to help us. Everyone just pretended they didn’t know what we were saying or said they didn’t have it.
It is pretty hard to believe that they didn’t have a flag pole.
We called our friend who USED to work at Home Depot and he told us exactly where they were.
We have a flag pole now.

I must have caught the right customer service rep at the right time…
These guys were overly helpful and very courteous…

I do not know the girl’s name, but she looks to be Samoan. (Sorry if misspelled!!) She has helped me and she is seriously the nicest chick in the store. The only other employee I have encountered at this location who is just as good or better cut a key for me once. Very strong accent. Very incredibly genuine customer service skills. Otherwise, I hate going here. Absolutely hate it. I hate that the people who work there treat you like a bother, don’t know where things are, and have to be flagged down, because they won’t even ask you if you need help when they pass and you are looking around frantically in bewilderment that you are STILL in the same store forever unable to find something.

They really do have a HUGE gardening department.
The selection there is incredible. If I had an actual garden and not a patio I would go nuts. The flowers, fruits, and veggie plants spill over into the parking lot. its great!!! They even have a great selection of herbs. You name it, they got it!
I also like how helpful the staff is. They are really on top of it! You can ask them almost anything about gardening and they have the answers.
One thing that I was not to keen to were the prices. The prices were a little steep in comparison to other places. I cant justify paying over $ 5 for a petunia plant. Although the quality of them are perfect. I think if the prices were a little bit lower I would buy more plants for my patio garden.
Over all I am vey open to plant shopping at Home Depot… Only when there is a sweet sale.

Typical home depot store. Lots of staff wondering around to help, most seem pretty knowledgeable about their department (If not they have asked others). Lots of aisle for diy home improvement at decent prices.
The one reason I felt like writing a review was their staff was super nice and friendly while my toddler threw a fit and screamed while checking out. The staff didn’t make us feel bad that she was freaking out. And even tried to talk to her and make her smile.
Because of their customer service this will be my go to home improvement store!

Its project week at my house so stopped by here to pick up some paint. The ladiea at the paint counter were so nice and helpful. I stood there for about 25 minutes pondering paint colors and I didnt feel rushed by the associates. One of them even helped me narrow down my choices! I’m slightly indecisive so it was quote helpful.
As usual my husband wandered around and found a beautiful japanese maple tree for $ 10!!!extra savings!

I havent had any bad experiences here, I have been renovating our home the last two months and visited this place to rent the drum sander, corner sander and so on. Very great staff and so helpful too! Of course its pricier than other department stores like Lowes but just slightly, but I feel Home Depot also offers rental equipment which makes its my go to place if I cant find what I need in Lowes! =)
