The Container Store

I don’t know about these bad reviews. I am here more frequently than I care to admit and everyone has always been very helpful and friendly.
I was on the fence about a door organization system and she kind of talked me into (or rather I let her talk me into) and OMG, I love it. I’ve ordered more for like every door in my house.
The prices can sometimes seem a little high but that’s the price for that item right now, sure you might find something similar at a garage sale or something and maybe you don’t NEED it but rather WANT it– these are the choices of life.
I choose Container Store.

Terrible customer service and lazy employees. Bought a «best box» corrugated box, and when I got home I realized that the lid wasn’t attached so I had to go all the way back to the store to get the lid. When I asked an employee for a lid, she told me they were with the boxes. So, I walked over to the boxes again to discover that none of them had lids! What a surprise! The employee went into the back to get me a lid. She was nice. I liked her.
I picked up a few more things, then checked out. Upon my leaving, I was told that exit that I wanted to use had been closed. When I asked why, I was told because our store is closed and that exit is locked. She told me that I could use another exit and pointed me toward the parking garage. I told her I didn’t park in the parking garage, and she said I can use the stairs in there to get to the ground level. Not sure why she couldn’t just walk me to my exit and let me use it! Terrible customer service standards. Just makes them look lazy. They need to train their people better.

This store is one of my «Happy places». I can kill hours thinking up solutions to storage needs. I just love it. The staff are kind and so helpful. I have on more than one occasion gone in here and a staff person has asked how they could assist me. I have explained my storage or organization issue and they have made suggestions. Sometimes they have been just what I was needing. The store is easy to get into with out having to go through the whole mall. I park on the upper level of the parking structure closest to Sears and then use the sky bridge to enter the store.

Wow this store has a storage solution for everything! Just come prepared with the measurements you need so you don’t have to go back twice like I did!
Their staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.
It’s a fun store to just peruse around and find solutions for storage problems you didn’t realize you had!

I came in for a metal shoe rack that I have been eyeing for a while and it was on a HUGE sale! The cashier also signed me up quickly for their great rewards program! I will be back soon for some luggage accessories for my upcoming travels!

Update to my review and minus one star as we recently purchased another Elfa system for a self-​installation to create a musical instrument storage closet for my wife, and we had yet another issue with this Container Store. The design was really straightforward, and it wasn’t Sheryl doing the design this time. (Because she doesn’t work there anymore. Because I hired her to work for me, so there’s that.) I checked the design a couple of times and so did the designer. She even had a supervisor look over it, and she signed off. She went for the hard sell on the installation service, and even tried again after I told her the only way a Container Store contracted installer was coming into my home was by stepping over my cold, dead body.
I paid, and when we returned a few hours later to collect the parts I noticed some random pieces sitting with my order. This closet was to be just shelving and two double hang rods, and yet the order was packaged with sliding drawers and all the associated hardware. No one could explain why this had been added to my order, yet it didn’t show up on the design. The designer tried to blame the cutting/​inventory pickers, and they tried to blame I don’t know who. But anyway, the extra pieces added up to more than $ 150, which I was happy to get back when they processed the return.
The installation went smoothly, because I did the work. Thank goodness we’re out of closets to remodel so I won’t be tempted to return to the store.

Very friendly staff, good service, sign up for coupons via e-​mail. They hold a wide variety of supplies — home décor, kitchen appliances, office and gifting supplies etc. A bit pricey on some of the simple items like push-​lid containers. Try Marshalls for the same products for less!

Just moved to a small apartment in Seattle from a 4 bedroom house. This place was a lifesaver. I was able to keep my new place from looking like I was trying to stuff in three stories worth of stuff. And the staff is terrific. They’ll check on you and drag full carts to store by the register, they know everything, and they even help you out to your car! Who does that anymore. FYI, there is a loading zone right out the back door in the parking garage.

Love this place. The first stop everytime I hit up the mall. I enjoy organizing and browsing the «you never knew you needed this» sections. Very convenient and I always get a ton of coupons from the instore free membership. Plus a free bday gift each year! Awesome’sauce!

I’ve never been to a container store but when I moved to the area I finally got to see what the big deal was! The big deal is that they have a container for 99.9% of life. Even containers have containers! Not a gigantic staff but they are very friendly! Everything we’ve purchased seems to be in good quality like the small trash cans and the spice shelves. They even have organization options for closets and offices which is saving me a lot of trouble from shopping at office supply stores!
It’s a friendly environment and very clean for its large size!

Very judgmental employees. The employees in here will occasionally eye you off until you leave the store. It made my entire experience in this store very uncomfortable. I was looking around the area where they sell desk counter goodies and an employee told me to be gentle while handling the items. I was simply picking things up to examine. I was far from «damaging store goods». This employee was just staring at everything i did. She then told her manager to approach me to ask «did you need anything?»
I can say that the items in here are very tidy and clean. Variety of containers. Containers you might not even think exist. I just wouldn’t buy anything from here just so i can keep these employees employed off of my business.
Maybe showing me a better customer service the next time i walk in here will change my mind. Just because i’m not in a suit and tie doesn’t mean i’m up to no good. show some respect to all of your potential customers not just the one that looks «well off».

Japanese mujirushi-​euphonium owned container store but the workers are just plain rude to asian customers.
Free catalog were given to all cocasians but we Asians were simply ignored.
I question their Customer service skills and it is a shame for a Japanese to have such a disappointing workers.
I recommend very asian to complain their rude service to asian to SEIYU and Mujirushi head quarters office in japan!
Some items are German and u.s.made and the quality of items are not even good like mujirushi in japan.
Very disappointed and we will never be there again.

Store is clean, spacious and well stocked. Location is close the parking garage which makes getting in and out pretty quick. Store faces south and is not visible from the freeway.
Employees were friendly and offered assistance in finding what we needed. The store is also a pilot for new register technology that feels really modern — and made the shopping experience faster!
Compared to other container store locations I would rate this towards the top.

Wow! I don’t know how I have lived without going to a Container Store before. So big, bright, clean & well organized! I want everything in here!
Found a spice rack online through Amazon. Then saw the notice of the Grand Opening of this store in the paper. Went online & found they had the same exact spicerack for less than Amazon & I wouldn’t have to pay for shipping & wait for it to be delivered. I also liked that if I didn’t end up liking the spicerack I could easily return it here.
Can’t wait to go back & spend an hour wandering around looking at everything.
In the SW corner of the mall near Sears. Park in the parking garage & use the skybridge to access the store.

This place is awesome.
I DONTknow how I lived without this place for so long. It has something for everything and a place for it all. I came here specifically on opening day to see the new store. I would NOT normally drive out of my way to go to Bellevue, but if I was in the area, I would stop there.
NOW I HAVE ONE SO MUCH CLOSER!
The store was clean and there were sales people everywhere! All willing to help and assist when they could.
The Container store is addicting. However, I have figured out a way to organize little bits of my house at a time. This place is perfect for that. Little containers, BIG CONTAINERS. You cannot go wrong here.
