Service is good, but the quality of their work isn’t.
I was in there yesterday only reason why is because that’s the only place that is open until 9pm. But my shellac manicure looks very poopy! My daughter also had her pedi and mani done that looks good. But overall $ 35 for a bad shellac mani is not worth it. I will not be going back to this place!
Also, is already chipping off after less then 24 hrs!

I sure wish I had read the reviews prior to letting these folks do my nails for my big show. My pedicure was nice, but my manicure and shellac look terrible! After just 2 days the shellac began to change color and chip away. As a performing artist, I was EMBARRASSED to show my hands at my big show. Since I spent $ 127 + tip in here, I went back 5 days later to show them the terrible job on my nails. After being made to prove (with receipt) that I wasn’t lying, I was met with NO/​rude customer service, snarls, insults, and the extended burden of having to pay someone else to redo my nails. At best I was offered «to fix one chipped nail» while leaving all the others to look discolored and messy. Uhhh, no! Instead, I would rather pay a PROFESSIONAL nail salon and will not ever return to Serenity Nails and Salon and will discourage my friends and fans from patronizing this business as well due to the piss poor custom service in response to my valid complaints.

Wasn’t gonna Unilocal until my Facebook friends suggest this but I just went to «SERENITY NAILS» in the south center mall and these bitches were talking mad shit about me the whole time I was there and I played dumb but they’re the dumb ones because I SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND FLUENT VIETNAMESE. Then if they weren’t rude enough they made me cash out early because they didn’t think I was gonna pay. So after I payed I asked to speak to a manager and I was so mad she was embarrassed so she pulled me to the side and I got even more mad cause they were utterly embarrassed all of them so they all tried to calm me down like «em binh tinh» so I told them straight up that’s not good business you don’t talk shit about your customers it’s not nice. I even spoke in Vietnamese and said exactly what the chick was saying about me. She said all day she been getting shit demon customers like me. She said she was so unlucky to have me as her customer and that she doesn’t know what she did to have been getting «types like me» all day. Then she made me cash out «before» my nails were done then asked me for «cash tips» being super nice and shit. Then I didn’t tip her since she talked shit about me so she started talking more shit about me not tipping. I wanted to spoil myself but they literally made me want to cry in my seat especially when I treated them with respect up to this point I was courteous and polite and thought I could let it go but she kept going and going on about «types like me» like bitch sorry I didn’t wear a Versace dress in your store with Prada heals on I just got off work at a sports store. Wish you the best maybe after this you won’t get caught being so disrespectful to people who didn’t pay money to be categorized.

Wow this has been the best pedicure I have EVER gotten! Amazing service!

I’ve never had a great experience here, but today ensures that I won’t be back. I had high hopes starting off, the girl I started my appointment with had great attention to detail and made sure my nails were all even and the length I wanted. But the man who painted them was terrible. AFTER painting them, he decided to re-​file my nails so that they had barely any free edge (I only get my nails done when they’re nice and long because I hate how they look painted when they’re short). Then, he noticed a small tear in my cuticle left over from when the girl trimmed them, instead of grabbing a new cuticle clipper, he decided to rip it off himself leaving a HUGE hangnail that is still bleeding an hour later.

–5 star rating! I experienced some of the WORST customer service. I had my nails done & within 24 the product started to chip & bubble. When I returned for them the fix the issue, I was met with attitude, refusal & aggression, even after they observed the issue they accused me of seeking free service. Eventually a nail tech fixed my nails (not without attitude). If I could give this place a negative star count I would. Not to mention the minimal color selection.

I wish I had read the reviews before going to this awful salon. Was at the mall with my young son for a movie and since he has been telling me he wanted a pedicure, I thought, lets treat ourselves. What a disappointment! They did my nails way too thick and after one week they were separating. I had brought some glow-​in-​the-​dark polish and was going to get it out of my purse and the woman said «No no, I have some here». I saw it and as GITD usually is a bit green and this was pink, I asked, «are you sure?» and she just gave me a dirty look. Once I got home and went in a dark room, it was NOT GITD. The worst part of the experience was my son’s pedicure. I have only had three in my life, but I do know it should last longer than 10 minutes! Especially, that this cost 25 $! The woman was hurried and rude to my son, not at all welcoming or friendly. She did not even massage his calves and when she was done and he got his shoes on and was unsure of where to go and stood near the chair for a moment and she told him «Scat — go out now, boy» when he told me afterward, I was furious! Will never step in this awful place again.

Please don’t go here. I’m pretty mild mannered and don’t care to leave negative reviews but I’m upset. I believe I just got the worst fill experience ever. During my session, I gave the lady feedback that my nail was not the shape I would have liked. She shut down on me, rushed through my shellac. No cuticle oil afterwards. I asked for lotion and she just pointed the bottle towards me. No offer to rub it into my hands, so I did it myself. My nails are misshapened and I still have white acrylic residue over me.

Their manicurist talk bad about you in front of your face in Vietnamese. Don’t come into here if you want your nails a certain way because their manicurist will literally hand you the nail file for you to file your own nail because they’re incapable of doing a service to the client’s specifications. Also the nail files and buffing blocks are reused which is against the WA State Cosmetology rules and laws.
BEWARE!!!

I’ve been here about 3 times… All 3 times were bad experiences.
The place is packed with workers but about 2 out of 15 are actually skilled –_​–
They only take cash tips; once they see that you’re paying with a card, they will tell you to go to the ATM and get cash for tip with no shame and without you asking about tips. 0. o This is just disrespectful.
My recent and last visit was this Saturday, for a shellac/​gel color ONLY, no manicure, nothing was on my nails (usually costs me $ 15). The job wasn’t well done. I tell the girl at the counter taking payments what my service was, and she doesn’t know the price. She has to go ask the one who did my nails. She comes back and says $ 25, I ask so you charge $ 25 for just the color? How much is it with manicure? She says $ 35 – 40. I ask her if my nails look like a $ 25 job? She says «sorry, mall prices» without commenting or acting on the bad job. If you people are charging «mall prices» you need «mall SERVICE»! You can’t do one without the other!
On Sunday, the following day, 3 nails were chipped. This job that usually lasts 2 weeks on my nails, lasted one day and cost close to twice as much as other nail spas! This place is a scam.

Horrible job on my gel polish manicure. I left with rough ragged cuticles, an uneven coat of polish and messy edges. She rushed and did not try to clean up the edges for a clean polish line around the sides of my nail or around my cuticles. If they weren’t closing in 20 mins I would have had them redo it or at least take it off. Money wasted.

Omg they did the best job ever! The gal who did my nails was so nice. I never leave reviews but they arent getting the rep they deserve! I will be definitely coming back! :)

I decided to give this place a try on a whim. My son was at the mall with friends and wasn’t ready to go yet so I thought I would kill some time with a fill and a pedicure
This was Saturday. It is now Tuesday and I have been picking excess acryclic and top coat off the sides of my nails, underneath my nails and all over my fingers ever since. They are lumpy and uneven. The polish is also uneven so my nails look like they belong on the hands of a mutant. They are so thick that the my nails are peeling away from under neath so there are air bubbles between the acrylic and my natural nail. They look absolutely hideous.
You do not get an opportunity to tip on your credit card either. They dont let you. And when you say you dont have cash (i happened to have cash, this happened to the lady next to me) they will tell you to get get cash from the atm. I have already stated in a previous review of another salon how i feel about that so I wont go down that road again.
Anyway, you know how sometimes you go to a place that’s super cheap, and the job is crappy and you think, well, you get what you pay for? You don’t even have that going for you here. This cost me $ 56 before tip. This is ridiculously over priced. Absolutely terrible, and a complete rip off.
They do absolutely nothing to justify what they charge. This was a basic pedicure. Nothing special, nothing extra. Obviously none of these salons compare to places like Gene Juarez, but for just a little bit more, I could have gone to Gene Juarez in the same mall and gotten the royal treatment.
Dont waste your money. Seriously.

It’s an insult to professional spas and salons that this place calls itself a spa, look at the Unilocal photos and then decide if you want hideous nails.
I was at the mall to meet friends who were already here, I opted for a luxury pedicure and it was far from luxury!!!
The water was extremely hot, my old clear polish was not even removed at all, there was no filing done and the so called massage was the most pathetic attempt I have ever had, they use cheap cooking oil to lightly rub into your legs and on your nails then a hot stone is left under your sole to burn your skin off while the other stone is prodded around your ankle!?? It was not a massage at all.
A soggy hot rag is then wiped over your foot before they put your sandals back on and paint your toes in your sandals!
You are left with a cheap greasy feel on your skin!
A top coat was not used and not surprisingly it has peeled off 5 nails already after 2 days.
The chairs don’t massage and if your lucky to find one that works the remote is on the back of the chair! Helpful!
The place was not very hygienic, be aware of the tools used!
I definitely will not be going back or recommending colleagues and friends.
At $ 75 for a women’s and men’s luxury pedicure it is no wonder this place has barely 2 stars, go elsewhere friends!, this place is not a spa or luxury, they are ripping people off for your hard earned cash!

Went to the southcenter mall after Unilocal had led me to another «nail salon» in the mall with great ratings. Found out the first place didn’t do nails and the receptionist pointed my friend and I here. We went in and were asked to picked out a color. I got a french mani and my friend a pedi.
When the technician was preparing my nails for painting, she covered my hands with a warm towel that literally smelled like FEET. I had to wash my hands TWICE after getting my nails done to get rid of the smell. It was disgusting and definitely a show of how «clean» their establishment is.
The technician didn’t even talk to me, but instead was just gossiping to another worker at the salon the entire time in Vietnamese (which I understood, and they were talking quite rudely about their other customers).
While working on my nails, you could tell the technician didn’t take time to care for each of my nails. She even told another technician, in Vietnamese, that she would do this quickly because it was «easy». Overall my nails look fine from far away, but when looked at closely my entire nails are not even covered in top coat and the coats are uneven.
My technician, when she was done just abruptly left the station and left me in the seat, she didn’t bring me over to the drying station or anything. While sitting there for a while (out of sheer awkwardness) I observed the other technician Andy (I believe the only guy technician there) work on a manicure for another girl. He was much more welcoming than my technician and probably did a better job. I would try to advise you to stay away from the lady I had, but honestly I wouldn’t be able to tell you, because she never even told me her name!

I would give this shitty salon no stars if it was an option. I went in for a fill and regret it horribly now. I’ve heard things good and bad about this salon but I’m all about giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Never again! Never! First I was with my friend and we we’re asking about prices… what salon in earth charges $ 25 for shellac Polish? On top of the price of my fill which was $ 18. That’s $ 43. Not even my regular salon charges that much. So I opted for regular Polish and a shellac top coat. Which is the fill plus an additional $ 5.
My tech Nikki was rude. She was rough with my hands and kept burning me with the file. She wasn’t thorough at all. Once it was time to wash my hands and get a Polish I received no cuticle oil and she told me I didn’t need Any. I washed my hands and she started to Polish my nails. She even sucked at that.
I went to dry my nails and I bumped it on the dirty ass drying station and she was so irritated that she had to fix it. After what seemed Like eternity she came back to apply my top coat it was rushed and sloppy. I have shellac on my fingers. She told me to dry them and I did. It stopped, and then I look up she has already started working on another lady! (poor woman has no idea what she’s in store for) meanwhile I’m looking around for another person to apply my alcohol to my shellac top coat. NOBODY WAS AROUND!!! I had to literally get up and ask the woman at the front counter if she can apply it for me which I shouldn’t have had to do. She did and asked me who was helping me I told her Nikki (With her whack ass) and she said okay.
I left that raggedy ass salon and will never be back. I will never tell a soul to go there. Shitty customer service, shitty job, just shitty period. They better cherish that $ 25 because I would have rather given it to a fuckin bum!

I love treating myself to a mani/​pedi twice a month and I always go to different nail salon to see if I will love any place. I am so sorry, but the dislike I have for this nail salon is the first time ever. The lady who greeted was very nice (I actually felt welcome). I had someone working on my nails and toes. I really enjoyed the lady who did my toes but then she ask doesn’t interact much or she will talk to her coworkers beside her. The guy who did my nails made this experience so terrible, the nail polish was old and he refused to changed it and kept using it. So I’m like okay, then keep going, I wanted a french tip not clear nail polish on my nails. He refused to do things I requested and I never been so upset since it’s my birthday and I wanted to have a nice treat for myself. What made me even more upset was a regular french tip for nail and toe is $ 70 dollars?
Overpriced, leaves you going out of the salon asking yourself why they opened up a business and not want to give their best customer service, I never been so upset about paying $ 70 dollars and not getting what I paid for, I am not ever coming back. Not recommend, go somewhere that will make you money worth it. This place is terrible and I would never come back ever for whatever reason.

For starters, I’d like to point out that I’m a nail salon novice and I often have to google terms these places use. However, I can definitely tell the difference from an amazing manicure to a poorly rushed one. For a good year in my life, I would always go in and get my nails done at other various salons. I’ve experienced the whole shebang; all the way from having gel nails to having spa treatments! This was my first time and it will be my last time coming here to Serenity Nails and Spa.
I’ve been employed in retail here at Southcenter since I was 17 (now 23) so I’ve been here since the birth of Serenity. I’ve always walked passed this little nail place because it is right next to the garage I always park my car in when I go in for work. It’s also hard to miss the salon because when you’re in that corner of the mall, all you’d smell is the rancid stench of acetone.
I decided to treat myself before the celebration of my boyfriend’s birthday weekend. Y’know… gotta look good for my man! ;) Lol! I did not have an appointment but was automatically seated when I walked in. They weren’t that busy. I asked the woman at the front desk (Anna) questions such as «What is the difference between acrylic and gel?» I couldn’t really understand what she was saying because of the accent so I quickly stepped out and googled it lol — which was fine. I ended up choosing to go with a full gel manicure set with color.
I got seated with a nice man named Andy. It wasn’t awkward at all and he made me feel comfortable with light conversation. I looked through their selection of color and pointed out that I just wanted all white. However, Andy was applying clear nail polish on me when he told me that it wasn’t white and quickly changed it. The total ended up being $ 50 which is a little too much for my taste. I’ve been to cheaper places. I ended up paying with card but forgot I had to withdraw cash as they only accepted cash tips. Oops! How embarrassing! Oh well — so I quickly went to an ATM in the mall, came back and GENEROUSLY tipped $ 20 for the mediocre job.
This review is solely for the aftermath of my manicure. I noticed that there were many bubbles in my nails. My gel set was actually applied on way too thick and my coworkers would often point that out to me. I’m a hands on type of person so everyday, I’m always using my hands whether I’m on the job or working out at the gym such a rock climbing. In the past when I would get my nails done at other salons, after 2 weeks my nails would still ALWAYS look the same as they were from the very beginning. This wasn’t the case with Serenity Nails and Spa. I noticed that my polish started to crack and chip off towards the top of my nails after a week in of having them on. Not only that… But after 1 ½ weeks of having them on, one of my finger nails looks as if the WHOLE gel nail is about to come off! *I’ve posted a picture but the gel nail is literally half on and I can really lift it off of my real nail. I was going to give them a second chance but that was the last straw.
This place is way too overpriced and they didn’t even do a good job on my nails. Sorry but I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I walked into the salon with 2 broken nails. The staff was friendly and welconed me. They put acrylic nails and now my nails look normal and real. I love the green, pink, and white stripes. Thank you very much for saving my besuty!

Decided to Randomly treat myself to a manicure one day cause I noticed that my fingers were getting alot of hang nails. NiNi was the nail technician that worked on my hands and fingers. She was very kind and gentle to my hands, and it made me feel relaxed (Which was definitely what I needed that day).
Nicely decorated place inside the mall, that’s convenient for a quick stop. Would definitely make a trip back in the future.

I went here to relax after shopping. I had a mani and pedi done.
The water for my pedicure wasn’t warm so that was disappointing.
They didn’t do a good job painting my fingernails and toenails. There was a big gap in between where the paint ended and my cuticle was. They did a hack job on my cuticles, I only get my nails done once or twice a year so this was a big disappointment.
The worst was this morning a few days after going I find I have athletes foot. I was pretty sure they didn’t wash out the tub after my pedicure before the next victim… this confirms it…
They are UNSANITARY I guess I’m lucky that I «only» got athletes foot, and not something worse. Yuck!
