History

Established in 2013.

Project Feast is a nonprofit social enterprise that began in 2013 with a twofold mission: 1) to transform the lives of low-income refugees and immigrants by providing pathways to employment in the food industry and 2) to be a platform for intercultural exchange that strengthens the entire community. Our programs for refugee and immigrant home cooks have evolved over time to include food handler permit training, basic commercial kitchen skills training, and 5 month paid apprenticeships in the deli we run in partnership with the Tukwila Community Center. We directly fund our training programs by operating a catering business and community cooking classes in which Project Feast graduates prepare and teach their authentic recipes from around the world.
