We can’t wait to be rid of this place. If I could give them negative stars, I would. As a resident since 2012… we’ve had our share of problems living there. Homeless squatters outside our apartment, loud, noisy tenants. Leaking toilets, black mold…

The new management took over sometime this year and let’s just say they are a hassle to deal with. It seems to me they are trying to evict us for stupid reasons and most of it is their fault. They’ve posted eviction notices on our doors twice about late rent. I confronted them because we still had 3 days left before it was even due. Like what the heck? They apologized saying it won’t happen again but I don’t trust them. They make a big deal about our patio too. Sure, we have cigarette butts and trash out sometimes but we always clean it up. I feel like they are bias and unfair. I will make sure to document and record everything they do, in case it happens again– that way I can have proof and send it to the news and various media outlets.LOL.

Where do I start? We just moved out of Foster Creek 2(the middle complex) after living there for over a year, and I am so glad to be gone. We rented a 2 bedroom 1 bath for $ 1120 a month… which is way too high, but that’s the least of my complaints. When we moved in, we liked it fine, but the longer we lived there the more we realized that under the surface it wasn’t what it seemed. The kitchen was TERRIBLE and one of my biggest complaints. They had told us that they would be giving us a new stove/oven before we moved in and they didn’t. My boyfriend noted on the move in checklist that not only was it not new, but it was dirty and not even cleaned out. One of the burners actually exploded in my boyfriend’s face one day, while we were trying to make dinner. Flames shot out of the burner and caused the power to go out in the entire apartment. It was terrifying. And he could have been seriously injured. This happened on a Sunday night, forcing us to drive an hour away to my mom’s house to stay. The emergency maintenance line is apparently only checked during office hours(which makes ZERO sense) so we couldn’t get a hold of anyone… though we tried. We have a three year old, so not having heat, hot water, and electricity really isn’t an option. The office was randomly closed that monday(it wasn’t a holiday, so I have no idea what was up with that), so Tuesday was when we got a hold of them. They violated multiple Washington State laws in the process by not fixing it in a timely manner. THEN they didn’t even replace the stove! They«fixed» it. Which is a joke… only one of the burners worked correctly in the first place. The rest just got warm but not hot enough to actually boil or cook anything. Junk. The dishwasher was my other complaint in that kitchen. From the time we moved in it looked mildewy and gross. I tried to wipe it down and then the first time I used it, it would have mold and mildew all over it again. I even tried those Cascade dishwasher cleaning pods with no luck. I actually stopped using it because I didn’t like the idea of mold or mildew getting on the plates we ate off of. It also got stuck halfway through the cycle and if you didn’t remember to help it along it would keep running. I realized shortly before we moved out, while I was throwing something away under the sink and my hand caught on something, that part of the underside of the sink was taped on. Yes, TAPED. Meaning, a piece of plastic had broken off and they taped it back on. I would be interested to see the kitchens in the NON upgraded apartments! The bathroom was my other huge complaint. My boyfriend noted on the move in checklist that it was already moldy in places and there was already moulding coming off around the tub. The ventilation was terrible, though we used the fan and left the door open when we were showering. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get the mildew and mold off the tub and I tried various products. Shortly before we moved out, we noticed mold forming on the wall near the ceiling as well. WAY too much mold in that apartment. EVERYTHING was just so shoddily put together. It’s like rather than do anything properly, they just did the bare minimum on everything. I’m sure that will majorly bite them in the butt at some point. I should also mention that we all developed allergy symptoms while living there. When we would leave or go stay somewhere else, they would go away. It really made us uneasy. We have a small child so it was worrisome that where we lived could be making us sick. Now that we have moved out our symptoms magically are gone. There was mold everywhere, and it’s really hard(and can be dangerous) to get rid of if you don’t know what you’re doing. The noise in that place was ridiculous. Our upstairs neighbors were absolutely terrible. For starters, there were at least 6 people living up there and they were extremely inconsiderate. The guy would use power tools(we’re talking power saws etc.) on his balcony, making it so we couldn’t even have the door open in the summer. Debris was constantly raining down onto our patio and getting all over our son’s toys. He also seemed to work on things INSIDE the apartment as well. It was not normal day to day noise. The insulation was so bad, that we could literally hear people’s conversations as they were walking by outside. I could go on, but this is already super long. I just want to try to prevent someone else having to go through the headaches that we did! By the end, we just couldn’t wait to get out. I have never lived in a place I hated more. There are other good options if you’re looking for something in the Southcenter area. We lived in some apartments around the corner and at the very top of the hill(152nd) that were AMAZING, if you need something in the area.
