If you go the Big Lots and Pauline is working it is your lucky day. She is bright and cheerful and gives great customer service. If you need anything, make sure you ask Pauline because she will track it down for you.

Big Lots is like a box of chocolate, you’re never quite sure what’s going to be there. I come for the nail polish. It’s hit or miss, but there are amazing deals to be found if you’re willing to look! They have pretty much everything you need for the home and a food section.

Today I had the worst shopping experience I’ve ever had at a store. I was in big lots looking to buy a few things for my deck and patio area when I came across to umbrellas for sale, they were marked $ 49 each. So I grabbed one I liked and added it to my cart and proceeded to go to the front to check out. When I got to the front I was told that the umbrellas were $ 99. I then told the sales rep that they were marked for $ 49, she then called someone from the back to do a price check. I proceeded to follow the lady and we went back to check the price and sure enough they were marked $ 49. She then told me to tell the cashier to sell it to me for $ 49. So I then went back up to the front and told the cashier that the person doing the price check said it was okay to sell to me for $ 49. Another sales rep in chimed in and said those are the wrong umbrellas. I said no they’re all marked $ 49. She then said look I’ll show you. So I walked back with her and she showed me where it’s said $ 49. But upon closer examination I pointed out that all of the umbrellas were marked different prices and if there was a particular umbrella that sold for $ 49 they should have it clearly separated and clearly marked. She agreed and said that I can have The umbrella for $ 49. So I went back up to the front and told the cashier again that the other sales rep said I can have the umbrella for $ 49. However when I got to the front the cashier informed me that the manager was coming. So we waited on the manager to come up. His name was Ron. Ron asked me to come back with him and take a look at the price on the umbrellas, I kindly told him that I already knew what the price was that it said $ 49. However, I went back with him anyway to take a look. So I walked with Ron back to the umbrellas. Upon closer examination we both saw that all of the umbrellas in the area marked $ 49 had different prices on the actual umbrellas themselves. I pointed out to Ron that it’s illegal to have merchandise marked for a price and not sell to customers for that price. Furthermore, I pointed out that if it was a particular umbrella for sale they should’ve had it sequestered with the correct price on it. Ron got extremely upset and said well I can’t sell it for that price!!! And stormed off. I then got upset with this treatment and went to the cashier and informed her that I would not be buying big lots today. Subsequently I have called the 1−800-number and plan to write to the appropriate authorities. Do not shop at this store!

I always end up being surprised by the amount of stuff I end up buying here… for such great prices. For instance, tonight i came in for something to put baked goods in for gifting: a tin, box, whatever. They had these cute Christmas decorated tins with semi transparent lids for $ 2.10, which is a pretty good price. But… they ALSO had Biscoff biscuits for $ 2(worth a try of you haven’t, yummy), mushroom tortellini for $ 1 a box(I only every find cheese elsewhere, not good if you’re lactose intolerant), tons of Christmas décor for super cheap and travel shampoo for a quarter each(Target sells them for $ 1). Among other things. They have lots of good quality stuff for amazing prices and you never know what you’ll find. The staff are friendly, the store is fairly organized. And tonight, we apparently got to the register 20 minutes after closing time(totally our bad)… but no one ever seemed rushed when interacting with us, or shooed us out. Awesome!

All kinds of stuff — electronics, furniture, clothing, toys, housewares, kitchen ware, food, hygiene products, you name it — for a fraction of the price. This location is nice because it’s newer, which means that it’s cleaner for the time being. Customer service is friendly and attentive(but not overly so) which always gets a high score from me. I’m a customer service snob.

This is the nicest Big Lots I’ve ever been to! I visited for the first time this past weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised at how bright and inviting the store is. Most of the Big Lots locations are older and the lighting is dull. It often reminds me of shopping at Kmart because it’s not usually as bright and modern as Target or Walmart. I was anxious to check out the newest Big Lots to see what kind of bargains I could find, and it was a real treat to see just how nice the inside of the store is. It’s definitely the best one I’ve seen, so I look forward to visiting this location regularly in the future.
