Yellow Cab

This was my first taxi experience. And it will be my last with Yellow. I called dispatch to get picked up and the driver calls soon after saying he will be there in 15 mins. And hour and half later I call dispatch again to hear he picked up another fare and I wait. Classy.

If its at all avoidable, DO NOT CALL YELLOW CAB. Aggressive drivers that carry about 2 dollars in change. So if you pay with a bigger bill ($ 10) they pretty much rob you for your change. Tip rape is what i call it. The worst customer service in tucson. Thats a guarantee.

I live in Three Points and out of all the companies, Yellow Cab rules. They get to my house fast and do not have a hard time finding my house. The drivers are easy to have a nice conversation with! Not to mention, its cheaper (and like 100x better) than «discount cab». We’ve had the WORST experience with Discount Cab, but Yellow Cab has not failed us yet!

I was confronted by a yellow cab driver that was aggressive; with that in mind i am myself a cab driver and the GM of the company, i would never conduct myself in that manner or nor my drivers. If one of my drivers ever did an act like this i would let them go. How he conducted himself in this manner is very unprofessional, but i guess this is the standard of this company. That makes all cab drivers look bad at the end of the day.

I have always had very professional and prompt service from Yellow Cab. I am giving them 2 stars not because of their workers or the taxi drivers, but because of the horrible stories I hear about the management of the company and the way that they treat their drivers in terms of how much they make them pay to lease the cars ($ 140 a day!!!). Most of these drivers are lucky to walk away with 50 dollars after working a full day or night shift. I’ve just heard from too many of these cab drivers how this company doesn’t care about them and how they are struggling to make a decent living despite working extremely long shifts. I really wish they would improve the way they treat and compensate these workers.

Don’t try to call for a cab. Yellow Cab lies about pick-​up times over and over and leaves you waiting for nothing.
They haven’t even earned one star. I was going to be at the airport after the scheduled flights ended so I made sure to call before dropping off my rental car and ensure they were sending a cab. I was told it would be 20 minutes.
Yellow Cab one of only 4 taxi companies contracted with the Tucson Airport. Since non-​contracted cab companies are barred from picking up at the airport, Yellow Cab is supposed to have a cab available to send at all times (I learned this at the airport as I was waiting on them).
An hour+ later and two times being assured a driver was on their way, I called a fourth time. I was then told there were no drivers available and no record of my calls were in the system (this was told to me by the same dispatcher, Tina, I had talked to on a previous call). The airport dispatch then called for me and were told it would be 20 minutes (the other 3 cab companies said 30 – 45 minutes). I wound up walking up to a hotel so I could use a non-​contracted taxi service that was there within 5 minutes. I called to let airport dispatch I had a cab and was told that they had called to check on the taxi status and Yellow Cab informed them they couldn’t in fact send anyone. Worst taxi company ever. I will go out of my way to avoid them in the future.

Watched a cab driver from this company turn right on red today by the School for the Deaf and Blind, where there is no right on red allowed, for obvious reasons of safety. I will never use this cab company because if this.

Terrible. Our driver got lost going from congress to university street. Unacceptable. 10 dollar fare, only going green from here on out.

Was getting a ride home and the cab driver all a sudden yelled and pulled over and told me to get out. There was no reason for this. I was left out in the
rain with no cab. I will report the cab driver and never ever use their horrible cab service. This was down town by zen burger.

It’s rare that I leave such a short review. But to wait over an hour for a cab is out of control. And when you call nicely to check on status and get hung up on even worse. Two stars because the can driver ended up being semi decent. Can services in Tucson leave alot to be desired.

Totally unreliable. I called Yellow Cab yesterday to make arrangements for a ride to the airport for my 10:30 flight… I requested a 9:00 pick-​up. At 9:10, no cab, called and dispatcher said I was on their board and a cab should pick up my fare soon, but that they were having a very busy morning… at 9:20, no cab, called back and was told I could expect a driver in 15 – 20 minutes… I asked if my reservation was merely a suggestion to them and he told me that the drivers don’t come in until 9, so it is difficult to get a driver for 9am… I told him that if it were not possible to pick me up at 9, they should have told me that yesterday so I could have called someone else. The driver showed up at 9:36…
I did not stiff her on the tip, but as I got my luggage, I told her that I was very unhappy with the dispatch service and would not use yellow cab again, she said «you are an hour early, you are here in plenty of time»…it was 30 minutes before my flight… nice attitude, one more reason to delete yellow cab from my phone.

Last night was my birthday, and we decided on a cab for the evening. We called yellow cab from the first bar, and I was worried because everyone I talked to said they take forever to get where you are. But they were there within five minutes or so. The first cab driver was great and very nice, knew exactly where we were going and didn’t take the long way around it.
The second cab driver was there pretty quickly, and got us to our destinations in a timely fashion. They weren’t really expensive, and I was glad to have a cab that night.

I called them for a pickup from the Chapman car dealership in Tucson and they said they would send a taxi. Thirty minutes later when no taxi had arrived I called back. They said they couldn’t find the location. Twenty minutes later I called yet again. This time they said no driver was available. Don’t waste your time with Yellow Cab if you need a taxi.

I only give one-​star reviews to experiences that leave me wanting to cry out in frustration and feeling injusticed. Maybe that is a bit dramatic; hear me out.
I looked on the official Tucson airport web site and saw three cab companies they recommend. One was Yellow Cab. I called an hour in advance to schedule a taxi pickup to the airport. I live around 17 miles away from TIA.
I called every ten minutes after the scheduled time. I did not have enough time to find other modes of transportation. I was finally picked up 40 minutes late after the dispatchers told me that my driver was nearby but a new driver.
The driver started going down Campbell until I told him there was construction at Ft. Lowell; he later tried to cut across Speedway before I told him we would hit University traffic. Once we hit 22^nd he booked it, but it was a bit stressful.
$ 25 for an almost 20 miles away. Less than 20 minutes. But 40 minutes late for a ride that smelled like an old bus? I need more reliability.

I called these guys to pick me up between 11 and 12 on a Thursday night from goochs grill on 6^th. The pickup was very quick (I didn’t even have time to finish the drink I bought after I called them), and the driver was friendly. Fare was about $ 10.

When your cab driver starts the conversation saying «the last time I went up there, I got lost» you know you should probably get another driver. Despite telling the driver the street that would have taken him directly to our destination, he chose to take his own route.
A hour and 15 minutes after he picked us up, our cab driver delivered us to our destination, which should have been about a 20 minute ride, pulling over eight times to consult his map, leaving the meter on while doing so.
We became increasingly concerned about arriving on time for the wedding we’d traveled to Tucson for, and suggested our driver could call his dispatcher to help with directions. Our driver told us Yellow Cab did not provide this service.
He finally found asked a policeman how to find our destination, again, leaving the meter on while he got directions.

I used a cab in Arizona once back in freshman year. It takes forever to call a cab though, a 45 minute wait during the day. Pricing is almost identical for all the cab services, and they are very limited in Tucson. However, the driver was quick and was able to get me to class on time. Almost a $ 40 cab ride though from the airport to the university. Pricey for Tucson.
