Xanadu Salon & Spa

Me and a group of ladies went to Xanadu last night for a ladies spa night. We had the choice of facial, massage, hand scrub, foot scrub, teeth whitening, ionic foot bath, deep conditioning mask and body detox wrap. When we arrived some of our party was already there getting pampered, Victoria and Itzel welcomed us immediately and got us started on a service. I started with the facial and it was AMAZING! Then I got the hand and foot scrub, deep conditioning mask and ionic foot bath. Everyone there was extremely accommodating, making sure our wine glasses were full and had a plate of snacks (we brought the food and drinks). All of us had such a great time and can’t wait to schedule another night out. I live in Phoenix and will make plans to come back for more services. Thanks Xanadu!

I had an awesome experience when I got my treatment with Mena. You can tell you are treated by true professionals who are experts at schelotherapy. I was reluctant because I though the treatment would hurt but it was very minimal. I will definitely be coming back for touch up treatment with Mena in 6 weeks. I can’t wait to see my finished results.

My husband and I came in to Tucson for a mini-​vacation. Hoping to find a nice place to accommodate a couples spa package, we researched and called Xanadu. From the moment they picked up the phone to take our reservations, throughout our entire visit to their business they were professional, pleasant, informative and just great at what they do! We did their derma-​gel (weight loss wrap), facials, and wax for a very affordable price! We were both educated on the product used and expected results from start to finish. Did I mention we were both very happy with the results and left the spa/​salon wishing we lived in Tucson! They just about offer every treatment you can think of, wraps, massages, eyelash extensions, facials, etc. Thank you Veronica and Lourdes! You love what you do and it shows:)

Paid a lump of money, followed the regimen walked away with no results! Very disappointed :(

I am giving this salon 5 stars for a few reasons. One, when I made an appointment recently for Monday, Labor Day, myself and the employee who took my appointment over the phone failed to realize that the salon would not be open that day. We forgot that it was Labor Day. I drove there from Sierra Vista (about an hour drive) and saw that the place was closed. I called the number on the sign outside and I reached the owner, Victoria. She stated that they were closed due to the holiday, but quickly said that she would change and be there in 15 minutes to honor the appointment. She was nothing but professional and nice and showed sincere concern for my personal situation. I have never heard of someone coming in on their day off (a holiday, no less). I cannot say enough good things about Victoria. I was very pleased with the products and services I recieved as well.

Great Salon! Victoria is the best. I have had manicures, pedicures, haircut, color and highlights. I have always been extremely happy with the services that Xanadu Salon & Spa provides. Victoria will be doing my hair and makeup for my wedding in September.

Worst «salon» I have ever been to, and I have been desperate enough to go to Super Cuts… The owner Victoria is like a Kindergartner learning to use scissors, chopping into the construction paper like it doesn’t matter what comes out. She is the worst stylist I have seen yet.
I dropped in on the off-​chance that they would be able to give me a hair cut that I desperately needed. Victoria took me back immediately, which was the last good thing that would happen in the next hour. While she was washing my hair she was pulling my hair roughly in order to move my head where she needed it to be. Ok, fine, I was just glad to be getting my hair cut. Then she sees one of her fav customers drop in so she tells me she is going to stick me under a drier and that she will be back in 10 minutes. 25 minutes later, after giving the other woman a color, cut and style, she finally gets back to me. I might be able to understand if that woman had an appointment or something, but she was a walk in like me!
I put on a good face about it since this Victoria was about to cut my hair. I asked for a pixie cut, a style that I have often gotten. She proceeds to start whacking my hair off without any precision at all. I have seen many people cut my hair and they typically make sure the back and sides are short and even, that the cut is well balanced, and that there is a good shape. Not Victoria– she just grabbed pieces of hair and whacked them off without any effort.
The end result was that the top literally looks like a flat top, the bottom and sides around my neck are at least an inch longer than the rest of the hair on the back of my head so I have a mini-​mullet which i had to cut myself when i got home before a date with my husband, and there are many pieces that are much longer than the rest of my hair all over the place.
I cannot believe I paid for this! I could have done a better job myself. This is my hair and it’s not like I have much left to get another cut to fix it. Now I just have to wait for this horrible cut to grow out or shave my hair off. I wish I could give this place negative stars.

Unprofessional day spa services, dirty stained white towels given to cover your body, overall cleanliness of robes, massage table, ect poor, quality of service definitely reflects bargain prices. Although the massage wasn’t terrible I would rather pay more and go to a professional day spa.

I had had my eyebrows tattooed badly some years back in a plastic surgeons office… and was desperate and extremely nervous to get them redone/​corrected. I received a groupon for permanent makeup for Christmas from my long suffering husband. Long story shortened, Victoria did a fabulous job, I am so happy, thank you Victoria you are a genius ;-)

I bought a coupon for a 3 step facial service by Mena’s Esthetics. I went having high hopes that my skin would feel amazing, only to leave upset and dissatisfied. She put something on my face and it was burning. I was concerned and asked if it was normal and she said yes. She never explained what she was putting on my skin. I would assume she would tell you what to expect beforehand. She then wipes it off and puts what I’m assuming to be some sort of lotion. Again, not telling me what she was using. Then the service is done. Literally I was there for 3 minutes. And she then tells me that I owe her 15% gratuity. I left confused and upset because it was a horrible service and couldn’t imagine paying full price. My skin was extremely dry and dull for the next few days. I would NEVER go here!

HORRIBLE! I had a groupon offer for a hot stone massage 50min. I mad an appointment in the morning for 330 afternoon. traffic was running a little late, so I got there 345. the teenage girl Kat greeted me at the desk, who I then realized was my masseuse. she was about 19 – 20 yrs old. She escorted me to the room. Which had no AC and the only fan was broken. in tucson at 3−4pm it’s about 80 degrees out. so I get on the table and she starts at my neck and starts conversation about how she got arrested last night, and starts using vulgar language. meanwhile spitting all over me when she talks. so finally she gets to the stones. she starts using them on my back for about 5 minutes then tells me I’m done. I woke up this morning very uncomfortable and my neck had a bunch of painful nots. I don’t know how «Kat» has a massage license. I will never be returning.

I went for a «head-​to-​toe spa day» at Xanadu on Grant road, and I can hardly say it was a spa day! The treatment was supposed to include a detox body wrap, detox foot wrap, Swedish massage, and reflexology. When I arrived, my «therapist» greeted me and immediately took me through the back door of the salon and outside, where we passed employees who were seemingly on a break, and went to a separate building that was a single room with a massage table. Also in the room was a small lamp plugged in to visible outlets and a cell phone playing very loud «meditation» style music (it was not quality meditation music, kind of cheap sounding flute music that had harsh pauses between songs). I immediately got the feeling this was a low-​end type place. My therapist asked me to undress to my level of comfort while she left the room, and that she would be back in a few minutes. I had to ask which treatment we would be doing first as she offered no explanation or information about the treatments. I undressed and put on a bikini, as I was instructed to do by whomever I spoke with on the phone when I inquired what to wear for the body wrap, and laid on the oil stained (oil stained!) sheets that were draped on the massage table. When the therapist entered the room about 10 minutes later, she asked why I was wearing a bikini! She said most people just strip down naked for this procedure (really?!?) and went on with stories about clients who had been there before.
The body wrap treatment was not what I expected — she slathered some sort of cream on me, loosely wrapped a sheet around me and left me there for over 30 minutes with my poor feet uncovered and very cold, and music that was way too loud. I struggled to tug the sheet over my toes eventually, and hobbled down from the table to turn the music down on my own while trying to keep the sheet wrapped around me. Laying there listening to crappy flute music and cars driving by was not exactly my idea of a spa experience. When she finally returned, she began my massage. The fact that she was good with her hands is the only reason I gave this review 3 stars. During the massage she kept talking about her personal problems and many topics that were rather inappropriate. I personally would rather not carry on a conversation while receiving a therapeutic massage! When the massage was over I redressed and she walked me back to the front of the salon, where she gave me a pamphlet of services and I gave her a tip. I was then sent on my way.
Not once was I told to drink plenty of fluids (as one should after a massage), and I don’t recall receiving anything that would be considered reflexology (I’ve had a real reflexology session by AZRA (Arizona Reflexology Association) so I know what a trained professional is capable of).
All in all, the massage was nice, but the environment was sub par and my therapist was far from professional. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great salon, great services all around (I had a wax, a haircut and style and manicure) all at a very reasonable price. The interior décor isn’t much to speak of and the manicure took a bit longer than I expected (over an hour), but other than that it was a really great experience. The owner is very nice and skilled in her profession.

Today I went in for my very first Spa day. I decided to treat myself to a cut and color, a chemical peel, and a M’Lis Body Contour wrap! All I have to say is, FABULOUS! I feel so rejuvenated, the pores on my face have minimized, the moisture of my skin improved and my face has lifted. The Wrap was so invigorating and I feel like a lot of the toxins that have been weighing me down has started to clear. Not to mention I love my new look, the color and cut was exactly what I wanted and I’ve received a few compliments already. Victoria is an amazing stylist and took great care of me, she now has a client for life!

Telma and Alba are amazing. They go over and above and fun to chat with. First class!

Sergio was awesome! Great massage, wrap, and reflexology all for a low price. The place itself was a bit loud in the rooms, but Sergio definitely made up for It. I’d definitely go back.

I got a scrub and massage combo and it was amazing! Pure heaven.
There were so many lovely little details and the masseuse did a wonderful job.
I’ve gotten a lot of massages in some really high end places (Aveda included) and this was the best I’ve received.
My only complaint is that it’s not the most beautiful salon (too darkly painted). but who cares when the service is so good!

Due to some impressive root growth after my move to Tucson, I decided to take a risk and buy a Living Social deal for this place I’d never heard of. Cut, color, deep conditioning for $ 50. Nice right? So I set up a 10 am with Pablo.
10 am — I get there.
10:15 am — am assured that Pablo is on his way
10:30 am — one of the stylists calls Pablo, he says he’s «just turning on to Grant»
10:45 am — manager Vicky comes back from running some errands, is very apologetic, says she’ll reschedule me and do it herself because she wouldn’t want Pablo doing her hair if it was her. And she’s right, I didn’t.
I’ll update after Vicky does my hair, but don’t you dare let yourself get scheduled with Pablo. You might get stuck listening to Pitbull tracks for an hour.
Edit: Vicky did end up giving me a great cut, but I won’t be going back.
Edit 2: Received a really nice message from Vicky offering her free services and saying she’s focused on shaking things up at the salon. I live in Gilbert now so won’t be making that trip, but totally respect small business owners doin their thing because I know it’s not easy. Stars added. Best of luck!
