Went last Sunday. Everything was excellent. I am not a big fan of buffet’s but my daughter wanted to try if for her birthday dinner. I was very surprised. Everything was clean, the food was fresh and the servers were on top of drinks and cleaning tables. We will go back for sure.

This Jan 8^th Wock & Roll has had a one year Anniversary I gave them there first review, which was 5 stars same as this. The food just as good A+ in my book, and the Sushi has to the best of all the Asian Buffets. We are regular customers there the way we get treated they make us feel like
wife and I call them our Chinese Family, I wish Joey, Ben, Benson, Stephanie… and Joeys & Ben son Henry, and the newest to the Family Sophia, all the best for the new year… and keep on cooking all that good food.

great food and great service, Love their seafood buffet. $ 17and you can have sushi, sashimi, crab legs, oyster，shrimp and many great stuff. I especially love their clam, ate tons of these! They sashimi was a little bit icy but I did not expect lots from it. They had lots of dessert and I tried one of each, most of them were good, recommend the cookies with nuts.
BTW, don’t try the green tea icecream, tastes like toothpaste, try the other flavors, they are good.

After seeing such high reviews for a Chinese/​Japanese buffet place, I was psyched to check it out. Unfortunately, maybe my expectations were a little too high from all the positive reviews. I found the food to be «meh.» Pretty standard for Chinese buffet-​type places. They got bumped from two up to three stars (a-​okay) simply because of the unlimited sushi. But still — we’re talking Chinese buffet quality sushi. Not «real» sushi-​house quality sushi. So overall it was okay. Right about average for a Chinese buffet. But not nearly as great as I’d hoped for or expected given the stellar reviews.

Best Chinese buffet. I’ve only been here for lunch but the food and selection is great.
They have the best sushi bar of any buffet I’ve been to and includes sashimi.
Lots of selection on their fruit bar.
Everything else food-​wise was excellent.
The restrooms were clean and well decorated.
The service was non-​existent and we were offered no refills. When I asked if their wifi hotspot was free the response was NO!!! Yeah, she yelled at me.
So if the service was better, then 5 stars.

I went there a few days ago on my 57^th Birthday with a friend. It’s a beautiful space with excellent food. If you like sushi, the quality is excellent and it’s all you can eat. A great selection of soups, appetizers and entrée’s. Also fresh fruit and a great selection of desserts! I didn’t notice until we were leaving but that have a huge selection of ice cream too!
Being that it was also my Birthday, I got a % discount for my Birthday years. My friend was buying and so it was a very nice discount. He comes there every weekend. It’s definitely worth the drive!

This is the only Asian buffet I will eat in in Tucson. Not everything is overly fried like in others so you won’t get nausea walking away. There is enough of a choice of fresh, steamed foods that allow room for more. The sushi is freshly made and they actually have the best tiramisu I’ve eaten.
Service here is a plus. Everyone is extremely friendly.

This is okay. There is a Chinese type buffet closer to me. They all seem to be about the same. There is a huge selection of food. The skewered chicken was nice and moist. I enjoyed the seasoning on the Thai chicken and a couple of the other dishes.
Real ice cream for desert along with loads of other deserts.

I saw this place on Ina several months with a big «TOP SECRET» sign covering it. Turned out that the big secret was Wok & Roll, a Chinese buffet. My wife and I finally gave it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised! Tucson’s Chinese food is of mixed quality but most of the food here was pretty solid. This is good ol’ fashioned Americanized Chinese food, including all the staples like coconut shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, won ton soup, beef with broccoli, and those little Chinese dessert things. There’s also some non-​Chinese fare including sushi (only of decent quality), pizza (for kids with picky tastes), and ice cream (not frozen yogurt — legit ice cream with flavors like mint chocolate chip and cookies ‘n cream).
Overall no one dish is amazing but the selection is good and everything is tasty enough. The price is reasonable, though it’s a bit more expensive on weekends for their seafood buffet. I’m definitely excited to come back next time.

So… Arizona people. I’m here from NJ visiting my dad. love crab legs so we decided to try it…
NJ has thousands of buffets… this place is GOOD… atmosphere is pleasant and the staff cleans often. The staff is attentive and very nice.
Bathrooms are clean and stocked. lol
The food: sushi is good however I would have like «plainer» sushi. like cucumber or just crab. I could have asked but I did not. There are 4 tables of food… soups broths are good comparable to NJ… the wontons need alot of help but that’s not a deal breaker for me. Crab legs on Friday and Saturday… food is hot and DOES have flavor. The last table has cold stuff like salads, shrimp, desserts. etc…price per person is about:$ 15.oo
Food is constantly being filled. If it’s empty they will fill it asap. We did come for dinner…5pm…

I really did go in with an open mind after seeing some pretty positive reviews on Unilocal,but I just was not impressed. Let me explain myself:
The atmosphere was rather cold and felt really empty, like they hadn’t put all the buffet tables out. I was hoping the sushi bar would be the highlight of my week, but everything seemed pretty much the same. All the rolls were either avocado, crab, and cream cheese or the the tuna, avocado, and cream cheese combo with different things on the top of the rolls. Normally I can eat tons of sushi but the two combos got kinda old after a while. I moved on to the Chinese food buffet hoping to be wowed, but alas I was not. The fruit had no juice and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, and the veggies were chewy. Everything else was rather bland and did not taste fresh. The only good part were the massive crab ragoons! In the end, nothing sets this place apart from the other mediocre Chinese buffets in Tucson. Why two stars? Service was friendly and the sushi bar is good for a little while.
Ok time for the important part… the Dessert review:
Ice cream was nice because it isn’t the watery goop usually passed of as ice cream at these buffets. Yes Tucson, the serve actual ice cream you have to scoop from a tub! I know I was excited too. And dont worry, I ate enough for all of you. Therest of the dessert is the typical pudding, cream puffs, and cakes. All tasted very generic and like they had been sitting fir a long while. Dont come for the dessert, but if you get stuck here… you always have the ice cream.

I am conflicted on what to say on this review. It was good… not great… but solid. I found the egg foo young very tasty and the egg drop soup was hot and tasted fresh.
Now, on to the sushi…90% of it was cream cheese, avocado and crab but with different stuff on top. There was not a lot of variety. I am not a big fan of sushi but being a Unilocaler I feel obligated to trying as much as I can ;) I liked the sushi I tried but again there really wasn’t anything imaginatively different to push my boundaries.
The ambience is lacking and it has a very cold and industrial feel to the entire restaurant. The warmest and nicest area was the woman’s restroom lol!
service was prompt and friendly.
Bottom line:
Food: some tasty but what didn’t taste good really didn’t taste good!
price: a bit high for buffet. You can find equal Asian buffet for less money.
Atmosphere: bland and cold

Wok&Roll is one of the fairly new restaurants on the scene, having opened about six months ago. I was impressed.
The restaurant has an open and comfortable feel. Word on the street is that this was once a Sizzler’s steakhouse. But it feels completely different.
I like the light motifs on the walls, which complements well with the dark wood vinyl and brickwork. It gives the space a slight feel of sophistication unlike many buffets, which, quite honestly, are too often dank, sticky pits –lowly culinary hangouts.
So, yes, I appreciate that Wok&Roll was some brightness to it. The benefit also comes from a couple of skylights installed. Great idea there.
You get the option of sitting in the booth near the buffet lines, or on the other side, which has a nice barrier wall that helps to drown out the sound from the buffet. There is also a back room.
I appreciated the immediate greeting from a host, who provided a booth seat promptly. Also, the service is very attentive and kind. Christina, who served me on my first visit, is especially helpful.
For us introverts, there’s a warning. The place gets pretty busy, and while the acoustics do a pretty good job muffling the noise, you are bound to run into folks who are entirely too loud and fall to the lower end of the scale when it comes to manners. This seems true of most buffets — why is that, I wonder?
Now, to the eats.
I went for the Sunday buffet, which costs about $ 16 (they only serve the dinner buffet rate on Sundays). You can also offer from the menu, with sushi starting in around $ 2.50.
The buffet is staffed by two sushi chefs, which replenish the boards on the regular. You have the option of sashimi, nigiri and rolls. I found that the sushi was pretty good! Pretty good. Sure, the salmon wasn’t bursting with luster, the wasabi wasn’t spicy and the boards could have used a quick wipe down — as some were caked with sauces. But most everything was tasty. The rice was prepared well, too — not dried out at all.
The variety is great. There are several rows of hot food with offerings that include baked salmon, rangoons, chow mein, lo mein, honey chicken, beef with broccoli, pepper steak, crab legs and several soups. I love that they clearly mark the names of their food! Also, their steamed rice has an especially light and fluffy flavor. Very good!
Also, Wok&Roll provides an entire section devoted to salads. They also have fresh fruit. And they have ice cream. And they sell beer, wine/​sake. Nice spot!

Our first visit to Wok & Roll on April 14^th of this year was awesome. The staff was very attentive, without being pushy or ‘hovering.’ All the dishes we tried were very good. We each took a very small amount of most of the offerings. Even going back a second time didn’t allow us to try it all as there’s a LOT of choices. There’s an item on their drink menu that neither of us had seen before: strawberry sake! It came to our table in a small frosted bottle, lightly chilled, slightly sweet, was delightful, and it complemented our meal nicely. The cooked sushi items were interesting, and perfectly done. The regular sushi was very fresh. I noted and applaud the fact that the chef regularly kept an eye on items that were running low, or in danger of running out, or anything on the sushi table that needed his attention, and he kept the area spotless. Other workers circulated regularly and cleaned up spills or refilled items efficiently and in a timely manner. The floor plan of the restaurant is open, and comfortable with lots of space to roam between the food islands. They even have self-​serve ice cream, a nice touch to round out one’s meal. The presentation of the food was beautiful, from the ‘cold foods’ section to the meats, vegetables, noodles and seafood, all looked, and tasted great. Even the ladies’ room is beautiful and nicely appointed.
On our second visit on May 23^rd, the food and atmosphere were still just fine with one exception. Once again, we ordered the tasty strawberry sake, and we waited, and waited and waited. There were only 3 or 4 other tables in our section with just two couples at each table; that is to say they were NOT busy, and there were very few patrons in the place. It was the Sunday after most of the students had cleared out of town; around 4:15 p.m. Our waiter passed by our table several times to go elsewhere WITHOUT bringing our sake. He was always looking somewhere else. He looked bored. Not nonchalant… BORED, with an expression on his face like he couldn’t care less. My husband finally caught his attention after more than 15 minutes had passed of him walking by our table. He said, «Oh, yeah!» and knew that WE knew he’d forgotten. When he finally brought the sake, he set it on our table without even an «I’m sorry about the wait,» or even looking at either one of us. I’ll remember this guy’s name. It’s on the receipt that I kept; because next time we go, I’ll make certain to ask NOT to be seated in his section. Other than that, we like this place. They’d only been open about three months prior to our first visit.
It’s new. We understand that ALL restaurants have their «off days» and that waiters have their «off days» too. It’s a beautiful building; open floor plan, soaring ceiling, the food’s good, and the rest of the staff we’ve had interaction with, including the chef, are eager to please and want to do their best to take care of their guests. I wish them luck as we head into that trying time: SUMMER in Tucson. It’s the ‘acid test’ for restaurants because if they can survive the summer when a LOT of the townspeople clear out, and get the ‘bugs out’ of being a new establishment, then they’ve got a good chance of making it here. We wish them good luck, success, and we keep our fingers crossed that they stick around.

Let me first state I love how any stupid idiot can write a review. First before you go to this place know that it is a asian restaurant. So guess what their will be asian dishes!!! Omg so many people complaining how the lobster is prepared. Or how this restaurant is trying to make dumb white people happy and yet they complain.
Let me start with saying I’m so glad someone finally brought a higher class buffet to Tucson. The sushi is good and their dishes are on the higher end scale of what other asian buffets offer.
Their dinner menu is far better then their lunch but it comes at a price increase. Raw oysters and raw fish alone makes it worth it. They also add crab. Asian prepared lobster and asian ribs.
Only thing I can think is people are under the impression that somehow for the price of 14.95 that they are getting Vegas Buffett quality. And no it is not on that level. But for ¹⁄₃ a ¼ the cost it’s at least half as good which is amazing for Tucson.
One thing I will note is it seems to be quite a few struggling people in Tucson. But to give a review as though 14.95 is expensive a part of me feels sorry for you. 15 bucks would be $ dollar at the most $$ and their are some here making it seem like it broke the bank and then put unrealistic expectations for a cheap buffet.

We have been on two Sunday’s. Once was Mother’s Day which was yesterday. The food was exceptional. Sushi bar was AWESOME!!! Crab legs to die for. I live 45 mins away and I will go at least once a month. My friends that joined me were stationed in Japan and they want to go back this Sunday. The staff is extremely friendly. Love the sushi chefs. If you do not like this place you must be extremely picky and should stay home and cook for yourself.. I sure hope this place is open for years.
Update… Just went back last Sunday and it was exceptional!!!

I definitely had high expectations because of all the reviews and gossip about this place, but this was absolutely not worth it for the weekend price of 16 $ the only reason I could see why people would write good reviews about it would have to be for their crab legs or lobster. which normally would be a good price for only 16 $. the only issue I had with the crab legs and were that they obviously ran out fast but it would take them quite some time to refill it. so it felt as if I had just paid 16 $ for any average buffet with an unlikely chance of getting crab or lobster. they also had oysters which definitely looked like they were left out to long, you would have to dig around to find good ones.
The sushi was mediocre it was definitely decent sized variety, but if you pay attention to the sushi which I tend to do, most of if not everything had imitation crab in it, so the rolls seemed very similar if not the same to me. the only thing I actually enjoyed for the sushi would have to be that they had Nigiri as well as sashmi (but only 2 – 3 types), the only issue I had with that was the tuna seemed to dry out a lot faster than salmon did.
The Chinese food also wasn’t the best either, I know I can’t personally expect to much since its a buffet but I definitely wasn’t feeling about 80% of the entrees and food they had. I did enjoy their miso soup though, it had big pieces of tofu which made me kind of happy.
Our waiter was nice he came and checked up on us frequently clearing plates asking how we were doing if everything was ok, we did have issues first entering the restaurant though, the hostess wasn’t around so we stood around confused for a couple minutes. she eventually came by but I was at least expecting a hello or a welcome but she simply just asked how many, and seated us, then when we left I was at least hoping for a good bye or thank you for coming I don’t think that’s too much to ask for… guess I was mistaken.
I did find it interesting that they sold ramune (Japanese soda)
Food variety overall was pretty small in my opinion, I wish they had a bigger selection, this place was just OK, I personally don’t think its worth it simply because they advertise seafood but it’s very limited. I probably won’t end up coming here again. There are definitely better buffets in town for cheaper.

So. much. sushi. For a buffet anyway. The sushi wasn’t the best sushi I have ever had but for a buffet it was good. The sushi was very cold which made me think that maybe it has been sitting in the fridge for a while so it wasn’t freshly made. Also, the selection was bigger than any other buffet that I had been to: oysters, shrimp, mussels.
The service was good. Drinks were brought out quickly.
The rest of the food was okay. Personally it was a little bland for me, which Chinese food should never be. So we will probably return again to give it another shot.

This has been may different things, but Chinese buffets have seemed to rule. The last one was good and after it closed I was sad, but…
Loving this place!
They have remodeled the inside of it and it is now very open and well set up. The price seems a little much for dinner but if you see their offerings it is worth it! They have oysters, clams, sushi, and many buffet classics like beef and broccoli and chow mien. On Fridays and Saturday nights they also serve crab legs and lobster. Everything I have tried I have loved.
This is a pretty amazing little buffet.

Gary and I (²⁄₃ of the Dining Trio) made our first visit to this recently opened restaurant. It gets a hearty thumbs up! Wok & Roll features rows of serving tables featuring many Chinese dishes, PLUS an entire sushi bar. The sushi features both raw and cooked varieties (so everyone can eat it) and was excellent quality. My husband is Japanese, and was pleased with the sushi. The sushi chef is Japanese, and one of the owners, a gracious man.
You get tons of variety (like other Chinese buffets) but this one has that sushi bar and a dessert/​salad/​fresh shrimp/​mussels bar as well. Everything was clean and fresh, and plentiful. And although this restaurant just opened around 10 days or so ago, it had plenty of people! It’s a big place, so plenty of seating abounds.
I noticed they also will prep food for you off a menu if desired instead of buffet, and you can do take-​out of the sushi or Chinese type.
And yes, they do have a senior discount, so do ask for it, if you qualify. It’s $ 12.95 dinner M-​TH and $ 15.95 Fri./Sat. Lunch is $ 9.95. Kids have discounted pricing. It’s a good value for the quality and quantity of food that you get.
The place has a good, friendly vibe, the servers were friendly and professional — all positives. We will definitely return! Good luck to the new owners — we wish you great success!
