It has been over six months since I have visited the Lost Barrio Shops. They are hidden south of Broadway off of South Park Avenue. I wanted to check on Tooley’s Café to see if it was still open. It turns out Tooley’s was closed for their summer break. I will be back. However, the trip was not in vain because I discovered Warehouse 1013. This antique store/gallery is on East Miles, a turn to the east off of Park, the avenue the other stores are located on. The day I went, 8÷7÷14, a Thursday afternoon, there were a few signs as well as a fabulous almost life-size wooden muscleman to help me find the exact location. The store is in a warehouse. I had no problem parking in front of it on the street. Upon entering a women quickly greeted me and let me know the prices were negotiable. We didn’t get a chance to talk because she was on the telephone the entire time I was there. I realize business is often done on the phone, so this isn’t a complaint. Most of the items have the prices clearly marked on them. The inventory includes a lot of paintings and wall art. The selection was nice. There seemed to be more Southwest, Native American, and Mexican art than anything else. However, there was some nice Asian art and other art as well. They also have rugs and furniture. They have many nice items to decorate a home. I could see this as a go-to spot for interior designers looking for unique items. The prices range from around $ 20.00 all the way up into the thousands. This is a fun place to browse. I didn’t find any treasures for myself, but there is the potential for a real find.
