I was sad to hear Mr An’s left but after eating at the new Ume Restaurant all I can say is or have you been my whole life. This place is the best!!! And if you’re lucky enough to get Sue as you sushi chef you will not be disappointed. She made our entire meal and everything was fabulous.

one of these«smattering of food from all over Asia» type restaurants. We had a few Nigiri sushi pieces, Orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. Everything was made fresh, the orange chicken’s deep-fried crust was still crispy, which is a sure sign the food hasn’t been sitting around in a steam tray. The worst thing we had was the bland fried rice, and even that was edible and quite decent. I’ll definitely be back.

We were there during Happiness Hour, and as no rolls are on that menu, I didn’t order food from it. I did have a $ 4 local brew from Dragoon Brewing. Check out their cocktail menu with original names such as the Shiso Sexy. I shared 2 rolls, the Del Sol and the Bleu Panda. Both are great choices and oh so tasty! They have a great sushi menu in addition to many other traditional Chinese/Asian entrees. We sat at the bar, had good service and enjoyed the ambiance. This is a great place to enjoy some tasty rolls before trying for an early retirement in the casino!

I felt adventurous so I ordered duck instead of chicken or beef. I had double fried duck and my friend had chow mein. We both agreed that we had four star meals and would both order the same thing again. I think the plum sauce was a little too sweet and I don’t know if it came out of a bottle or was made at the restaurant. We would both definatly come back the next time w are in town.

When Lady Luck turns mean and nasty, Ume is the perfect place to get away and give that lady some time to think about her actions and get ready to make amends. From the moment we entered Ume, we were treated exceptionally well. The hostess was more than pleasant and our server was a real professional. We ordered a TON of food. Here is the rundown: * Potstickers: abundantly filled and lightly fried. Slightly lacking in flavor but overall pretty decent. * Egg rolls: Delicious and just like the potstickers, filled quite full. * Crab Puffs: Oh so good and there is actual crab in them! * Squid Salad: I’m a sucker for a good squid salad and Ume’s was so bright and fresh tasting that I didn’t want to share. Luckily L isn’t much of a squid person so I got to enjoy every last bite. * Scallops: Lightly grilled with butter and lemon and served with white rice, stir fried noodles and veggies. The scallops were perfectly cooked, sweet and succulent. I just wish the lemon flavor came through a little more. The veggies in the stir fried noodles were cooked to perfection and really stood out compared to similar dishes I’ve had elsewhere. * Pork Fried Rice: A little on the oily side and a bit sweeter than either of our palates were used to but still good. * Mongolian Beef: Heavenly, tender, spicy, so-good-I-wished-I-had-ordered-it-for-myself * Mu Shu Pork: An unfamiliar dish for me and I did sample it. Not sure on this one but L loved it and quickly ate his fill. So we ate our fill, packaged up the rest and took it to our room and mini-fridge to eat later. Overall, a really good experience. I can’t wait to go back and sample more of their extensive menu. Soooo, any bets on whether Lady Luck redeemed herself that night? Let’s just say that dinner was the highlight of the night for us. What does that tell you?

I used love this restaurant when it was Mr. Ans and when this first opened the quality of food seemed to stay the same, but every time I go it seems to get a little worse. Nothing extremely bad, but just not as good. My dish wasn’t hot. Less flavor and smaller portions. We were seated quickly and our waitress started off great, but because of a big table after we got our food she seemed not to be around for us. We had different people stop by a coupke times. No drink refills either. We had to flag someone down to get boxes and ask for our check. In the end she said sorry which was nice, but said she got busy with the bigger table. Seems like they need more staff or need to figure out how to treat all tables right.

A group of my husbands coworkers and I gathered for dinner here a few weeks back. We had a reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and appeared to be very clean. Our server worked extremely quickly taking our drink orders and she was back with drinks in no time. The menu is quite extensive, the prices are fair, they offer traditional Chinese food, sushi, and even teppanyaki. The hubby and I decided on a Sunset Roll, sesame chicken, and lettuce wraps. For the size of our group(ten adults) our food came out surprisingly fast. The first thing that I noticed was that our Sunset roll which is deep fried and therefore supposed to be served warm, was more like room temperature. Another person in our party ordered the Sunset roll and it too was cold. I don’t quite understand how this could happen since our orders were brought out so quickly. The lettuce wraps were tasty but I couldn’t help but notice that the lettuce was a bit wilted. The sesame chicken was served with steamed rice, and steamed broccoli, this was our favorite dish of the night. A member of our group ordered the Del Sol Roll and it came out in flames, flambé is the exact term I should use. It was pretty cool to see and he loved it. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and I would be up to giving them another try. I will definitely order the Del Sol Roll next time we are here.

Nori G has it right. This is a nice place, especially considering it’s in a casino, and it has nice food. Good service. We had the Poke salad to start. Definitely big enough to share – even a good size as a light-meal all alone. Just as described, with delicious chunks of poke on a bed of seeded and sliced cucumbers. For our main dish to split we ordered, or we thought we ordered the«extra old sauce» beef & vegetable with rice. When the waitress brought it out though she said, «Here’s your fried rice.» A surprise. But, even without any vegetables, it was the best fried rice. Nice chunks of well-cooked beef. So, we’d recommend Ume for sure — a nice break at Casino del Sol, the best Tucson casino for sure. Next time we’ll get the recommended Phở.

Ume had delicious food. My husband and I have only tried the Chinese dishes so far. We wish they would open another location closer to our home. The Crab Puffs and Pad Thai are both excellent. My huaband enjoys their fried rice with pork. The service is also very good! Keep up the good work Ume!
