Total Wine & More

Being from Utah, I’m constantly shocked by how much alcohol you can fit into one building — at a fairly decent price. Total Wine is never a disappointment, and it’s always fun to browse whether it’s for 20 minutes or over an hour.
My most recent stop in sent me straight to the beers — I needed my La Folie (New Belgium) fix, and behold!!! Total Wine served me well with my beer version of a soulmate. This beer is harder to find than I’d like it to be, but Total Wine became my shining star.
The wine tastings that Total Wine provides continues to astound me (A. delicious and B. this tomfoolery would never happen in Utah), and the rows upon rows upon rows of every type of alcoholic vice you can dream of, bring out the lustful desires in every hidden alcoholic within.
Total wine is total love. This is a traditional stop for every Arizona visit, if only to dream up designs for cocktails.

We have been going there for years although the customer service is awful and staff unfriendly and apathetic. Went the other night for wine; they were out of mine until the next day. Went 12 hours later after confirming it had arrived; the bin was still empty. I asked someone if they could fill the bin and stood around for quite awhile. I went again to find someone. There were 6 employees standing around chatting. I rudely, (I’m sorry to say) said, «there are 6 of you standing around talking, can someone get the wine down?». Two women looked at each other and laughed; no one came over so we left and went elsewhere. I complained about empty bins and apathetic employees quite awhile ago and the place hasn’t changed. There are always employees standing around talking while bins are empty. Many times I’ve left with either nothing or less than I planned to buy because I didn’t want to stand around and wait, again. Do the CEOs/​owners know or care that they are losing money by paying too many employees to just stand around while customers leave without buying or buying less? If this was an isolated incident it would be different. This happens 7 out of 10 times that I go there.
We spend hundreds of dollars a year there, buying every week, for special occasions and holidays. I will never buy there again. I’d rather pay full price somewhere else than to be ignored, frustrated and laughed at. They do have a great selection but there’s more to shopping than that.

This is the place to buy booze. The selection is huge, and in almost all cases you’ll save several dollars over grocery store prices.
The staff is helpful without hounding you. I usually like to make my own decisions, and they aren’t in your face. If you have a question however, it’s easy to find someone.

I love Total Wine & More! They have such an amazing selection of everything! Along with their special taste testing they have on various days, their prices are perfect! I used to get my alcohol from the grocery store and I was paying way too much! Whether you’re needing alcohol for pre-​cocktails before the club or you’re throwing/​going to a party, this is your one stop shop for everything you need!

This is a racist place. My encounter was with a cashier named Stacey. There was a middle-​aged Caucasian woman ahead of me who did not have an account at the store. The cashier requested and was able to create an account for her, and bagged her wine/​beer. When I inquired about the same issue, she was very rude, blew me off, and did not place the beer 6 packs into the bags. Besides the steps I’ve outlined, her demeanor was blatantly obvious! My advice, stay away from this cashier… she looks like an early-​60s woman.

I wish there was a lower rating. Worst customer service in the world. Treat their customers with disdain and don’t seem to care about anything except making the sale. We have been customers since they opened and don’t plan to return.

A nice store! Great selection of drinks. I was in looking for some specialty beers, which they mostly had in stock (they had one in that was only part of a larger case, which I didn’t want, so I didn’t get that one). The staff was nice and the place was clean. I just wish it was easier to get here when you’re at the mall!

First I’ll start by saying, I usually order from a couple different wine clubs online that ship direct to me. Going into Total Wine was not something I’ve done often. Now having said that, I have gone more than a time or two to another known beer/​wine place when they have their «big sales». And until recently I hadn’t noticed that Total Wine has a bigger selection and they carry more of the wines I love at a much better price. They often have 10% off of 6 bottles or more which is a great deal. I’ve found they carry a couple wines that I hadn’t been able to find other places online or otherwise.
To top it all off I absolutely love I can just order and pay online and they’ll have my wine all put together and ready for me to pick up in no time. Makes it so much easier for me.

What’s not to like about the best deals on the biggest selection of liquor. If you have never been here, then make it a point to go. If you like to drink, then this IS the BEST place for supplies!

Love the selection here! Not thrilled about the discounts on case not applying to certain types of the same brand/​maker tho. Got the discount on 6 bottles of pinot Gris but not on the cab sav? Wasn’t very happy, but still best selection and place Imo to find any wine you are looking for.

Surprised this place hasn’t put all the other alcohol specialty stores out of business yet.

While the selection of beers at Total Wine seems pretty excellent on the surface, you should be wary of what you are actually picking up. What might look like a fresh new collaboration or seasonal could be several seasons old, because they don’t seem to rotate their selection… ever. Granted, a place called Total Wine should specialize more in wine, but if they are going to try and pander to beer lovers, they need to get it together.
Another big problem with this store is their terrible customer service. On multiple occasions I have been told an item is either in stock and not yet in the system (so I can’t purchase it until later) or that it is there, but no sales associate can seem to locate it in back stock.
Just this weekend I attended a party at which the host graciously provided a keg from Total Wine. It was given to him with the wrong type of tap, and furthermore the proper tap was not even available from the store, leaving the host of the event with a pretty unfortunate situation on his hands. Fortunately, better stores in the Tucson area had the appropriate tap ready, but it is fully unacceptable to sell a keg of beer without the right equipment to get it out of said keg.
If you know exactly what you want and where to find it in the store, by all means, shop here. Otherwise, spend your money at local Tucson liquor stores where the selection will be matched with much better customer service and reasonable prices.

There comes a time in life when cheap head-​bursting tequila and nasty wine just don’t cut it anymore.
So one searches for the finer stuff in life, when you more or less know your poison this is the place you can find it.
Try their wines from more obscure places like Austria or Germany or get a bottle of Reserva de la familia Tequila, to sip in style!

Service at this location is fantastic.

This is like the Toy’s R Us of booze. I enjoy craft cocktails and when I learn of a fun drink from my local bartender at Scott n Co, this is were we can find exactly what we need. This is a warehouse of wine and spirits. The isles are open and wide and usually people are shopping with shopping baskets. Every visit to Total Wine there is usually an employee asking if I have found everything i’m looking for, and usually I find so much more. I must admit I get a thrill when I go inside since it’s pretty massive inside.

I’m a true fan now that they have beer on tap for sale! They pour it nice and slow and it remains fresh for a few days but who really takes three days to finish a 64 oz growler? Not me:)

One of my law school graduation gifts was a $ 200 Total Wine gift card. I honestly don’t know what was more exciting– graduating or having a shopping spree at Total Wine.
I decided I wanted to use my gift card to stock my home bar with the basics – tequila, vodka, gin, rum, and some liqueurs. I don’t often buy liquor, so I decided to go with brands I knew– Kettle One, Bombay Sapphire, etc.
One of the Total Wine folks on the floor asked me if I needed any help. I told him my mission was stocking my home bar. He then recommended some brands that he thought were better than the ones I picked out, not to mention cheaper. He took time to show me where his recommendations were and why he liked them. Not only was it great that he was super helpful, but how often do you go shopping and the sales person actually helps you to try and save money?
Thanks to his recommendations, I had plenty left over to also grab several bottles of wine, and peruse the craft beer aisle for some single servings I had been wanting to try.
The store itself has a great selection, and is a pretty good size. Also, I went to this location a second time, and the customer service was great again. My only wish is that they would display the Arizona wines more prominently, especially considering Tucson’s proximity to the Southern Arizona winemakers. They are tucked in the last row towards the back of the store, where they are literally gathering dust.

Walked in on a weekday morning before my flight back to Seattle. With the high taxes on privatized liquor in Seattle and two free check in bags on SW, why not fill up your luggage with booze from AZ and bring it back to Seattle?
The folks at Total Wine are always helpful and nice (booze brings everyone closer together). We hunted down a guy on the tractor and had him bring down a case of Lillet Blanc and another of The Knott, and he was happy to oblige. There’s no discount on hard liquor in bulk but there is on wines. And after ingesting a case of the Knott, discounts wouldn’t matter anyway.
The layout of this store is like any other Total Wines I’ve been to and the stuff is pretty much the same, except there might be a better selection of alcohol from a certain region just from the fact the store is located in that region. Great selection, usually the best prices compared to other big box wine/​booze merchants.

Ahhh Total Wine. Angels sing when I come through your doors.
They have a good selection of the wine I like. I have always been able to get help. They have wine tasting and liquor tasting. What’s more to want?
They are very competitively priced and the selection of all products is good. I really like just wandering through the aisles to see what they have if nothing else.
