The Running Shop

I worked with Sharon and the customer service was top notch! She helped me pick out a shoe that fit and would support me while running and was patient while I tried them out (including a run around the parking lot) and asked about color options.

Small shop, ok location, ok selection. The man who help me was nice enough, didn’t ask too many questions, offered me a selection based on my old shoes. I know exactly what I want and what works for me, so that’s fine for me. However, if you need something more like guidance, you may want to have another clerk help you out or go somewhere else entirely. To be fair, I don’t know because I didn’t ask questions: I didn’t need to. In and out quickly, and they let me test run outside the store (which I expect from any shop but I’ve heard is not the norm in Tuscon). Cashier was very nice and let me know about a rewards program (free). I’ll probably be back to claim my $ 20 coupon.

Now that is how you treat a customer… thank you! The staff was very friendly and willing to help me despite being in a not so good mood from an experience at another running store just 90 mins before…

I’ve had a good experience every time I’ve been here. First of all the sales people don’t really bother you the way they do at other sports stores. They’re just polite and available. I needed help finding new running shoes and they listened to me and brought out some suggestions but never tried to pressure me into anything. But the greatest part is when the Brooks I recently purchased weren’t working for me at all, they let me come in and exchange them even though they had been worn several times (but were still in brand new condition) and helped me find a pair that had what I needed. They have a good selection if running clothes and always have lots of merchandise in the sale rack. I’m definitely remaining a loyal customer.
Extra points for the little old man runner who hangs out at the shop and jokes with everyone.

I haven’t purchased shoes here, only clothing, which may be why I didn’t receive the service everyone else seems to be raving about.
The Running Shop has an excellent selection of clothing and shoes for such a small shop. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did they have a UV-​protective top in the color and style I wanted, they carried it in three different brands. However, I got the impression I was really bothering the lady working that day by asking to try things on, or attempting to strike up a casual conversation while she rang up my purchase. I’m glad that she let me browse without breathing down my neck the entire time, but a bit more courtesy on her part would have been appreciated.

These guys know their trade and have a selection that proves it. LE discounts and great service make it the place to buy runners in Tucson.

I bought a pair of Brooks Ravenna 5 shoes here today. I liked the store! Really cool little place. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
It’s out of the way from where I live, but I’d come back for sure to get my running gear!

The running shop is a legit locally owned shop. I buy all of y running shoes here. Why? Because they take the time to fit you properly. The staff is super nice and the customer service is pretty darned good. My only wish is that take selection was a little bigger. But running inane about style. It’s about finding the right shoe and the right and that’s what these guys are all about. Support these local shops. You won’t get the same experience buying your shoes at a big box store.

Good prices, somewhat limited selection (specifically with self therapy products, which were expensive), staff isn’t unfriendly, but wouldn’t be called engaged.

I came in here because of a friend’s recommendation.
He said they are very nice about everything and let you run around the block to fit into the shoes and whatnot.
I went in and was not greeted right away. I looked around the store and then the girl in the front finally said hi. This wasn’t like a «Hi! Welcome to the Running Shop; how can I help you?» *smile* No. This was like a very sorry hi (like «what do you want?») Anyway, I didn’t like that. Then I told her my problem (the side of my knee cap hurts when I run and prepping for a marathon at the end of the year). She nods her head and said ya, it is common, called IT band syndrome so she certainly knows her stuff. She said it was a common thing with everyone that comes in. She then told me to take off my shoes and walked back and forth to see how I walk. She then gave me several shoes to try on. I walked around the store and went out and run a little. I finally picked one and she was more than happy to go directly to the counter and ring me up. I kept thinking she totally wants me out of here. She didn’t tell me the price; just rang me up. The next thing I know, I rang up shoes for $ 120. Thanks for warning me. I figured I could go somewhere else to buy shoes but I figured the prices is going to be similar and I have to drive. Haha. So I just bought some nice pink Brooks shoes. It wasn’t too bad but I am not quite sure if I want to come back here.

It was time for new running shoes and having a gift certificate for this shop brought me in. It is suggested to bring in your old sneakers so they can see the wear pattern on them. I followed this recommendation and the gentleman that helped me took a good look at them to see what shoes would be the best bet for me. At first, he brought out the same exact type of shoe that I brought in but after discussing my needs with him, he recommended a less expensive shoe of the same brand. Not as much cushioning works fine for me at this junction and I am glad that I have found a new shoe that works as well (if not better). The prices are comparable to other local shops that specialize in selling quality running shoes. Good customer service and a good selection of shoes would lead me to returning to The Running Shop.

This is a bomb local store. First of all, I got there about 15 minutes before closing. Terrible, I know, but it’s hard for me to get out of work any earlier than that. They didn’t act like it was a nuisance at all and I got the full treatment. They analyzed my stride and pulled out 3 – 4 pairs for me to run around the block in. When I found the perfect pair, they told me that if it didn’t work out within a couple weeks, I could bring them back — they didn’t want me running around in shoes that were bad for my feet. I mean seriously… how much better does it get? I’d recommend this store to anyone looking for personalized assistance in shopping for a new pair of shoes.
Before I went here I’d gone to another running shoe store that does a «footstrike analysis.» Definitely didn’t have the same warm fuzzy feeling. I returned those shoes and kept the ones from The Running Shop.

I visit this store when I need new «running» (in my case, walking) shoes. They have a great selection and the staff is very helpful in finding just the right fit for your foot. They also carry a good selection of socks and running apparel… If you are a runner, this is a fabulous store to visit for all your needs.
I like the fact this store and Worldly Soles are in the same convenient shopping center. Feet friendly place!

The Running Shop has a great selection and they’re local, so when I won a gift certificate for the store I was pretty excited as I needed a new pair of running shoes.
When I walked into the store it felt like the life had been sucked out of the place. The guy who helped me asked if I needed help or if I just wanted to check out the selection. His lack of enthusiasm led me to just check out the selection. He offered little assistance on the shoes that I asked him about and if he was an expert on running shoes, he didn’t let on. It was like pulling teeth getting this kid to talk to me. I don’t feel like I should have to ask a bunch of questions when I’m in a shop full of experts, they should offer information and my questions can be based off of the info they provide me.
Perhaps if I was a professional runner and knew what I was looking for the experience would have been better. Alas, I am not and simply decided on a pair of shoes that I knew had worked for a couple friends.
With such a great location and great selection of stuff it seems like the management of this business would encourage their employees to provide their customers some service. The service I received was minimal and I don’t plan on going back.

My wife and I are just getting into running again and decided that we needed to get new shoes. We live almost 90 minutes away from this store, but we thought we really needed to get some good shoes, as we’re hoping to start doing fairly high miles.
When we first walked in, we saw an entire row of people who were being helped by the sales staff. Once it was our turn, they evaluated our gaits and took the time to find the perfect shoe. Even though I thought I knew what I was looking for, the guy helping me gave me a few other options, and I ended up going with one of them — and spending less than I expected, to boot!
I will definitely make the trek up there next time I need shoes.

I went to buy a new pair of shoes for a race I’m running in March. I’m no running expert and the lovely sales lady was a great help. She looked at how I walked and determined what type of shoes I needed. She brought out four pairs and I tried them all after running around the block. I picked the ones that felt the most comfortable and was happy with my purchase. After wearing them for a week now I’ve noticed my runs feel much better than before. Great store!

I haven’t been to too many running shops before, but this place was cool. Everyone who works here is a runner of some type, from track to CC to Marathon. (i went here in this last summer). I was looking for a shoe to run my half marathon in, i got great advice from the local marathon runner. He gave my training tips as well as shoe advice. They even let me jog around the block with the shoes i tried one (never had anyone let me do that before). They were very helpful to me… unfortunately for me i had microfracture surgery on my knee so i have to postpone running till im all healed. I liked this place much… but this is one of the first running stores i been to, but i hear its highly recommended by some runners.

This is an excellent specialty store with everything you could possibly need for running. I bought a GPS watch and the workers were very knowledgeable about the specifics for each item. Parking was not a problem.

I went in here one day to pick up a race packet and ended up buying a few other goodies.
They have a good selection of clothing and the prices are very reasonable. The employees were helpful, especially considering the place was packed with people picking up their packets. In addition they carry a lot of the other running accessories you cannot find at large sporting good stores.
I have not gone in for shoes, and will possibly try that out another time.

We went here to find a pair of running shoes for my wife. She is a fairly new runner and was concerned that they might be a little snooty about running.
To the contrary, they were very helpful and took the time to find just the right shoe for her.
The prices were just a few dollars higher than online shops, but when you factor in shipping they are basically the same price. Plus when you buy online you can’t try the shoe out to make sure they fit well.
It’s a great store with one on one service that you don’t get online or at big-​box stores.
