First off, the place was kind of impossible to find. We did come in at about 9 pm on a weeknight, but there was no one outside and no signage, except for The Grill. Once we made it to Terraza, we got our drinks and menus. One of the reasons I picked the place was due to advertisement of live music every night. Unfortunately it looks like we missed any performers by quite a while. There were only two other parties that I saw in the whole place. After the initial drink and order taking, our waiter was a bit difficult to get a hold of. I believe I had the fish tacos… this was only last week but whatever I had it was wholly unremarkable. The waiter didn’t realize that they had two mac and cheese dishes on the menu and brought one of our party the larger/pricier one, and conceded to his mistake once we insisted there were two and he referenced the menu. We were not charged extra. If I have one piece of advice, it’s don’t come after dark on a weeknight! From the photos it looks to be gorgeous during the daytime, but nothing remarkable after dark.

Lovely space and our server was very helpful. Would love to see a bit more information on the gluten free aspects(one of the salads we ordered thinking it was gluten free had something fried in batter in it and I had a little swollen tongue after as I have an allergy) but the server was helpful after this happened and I ordered something else. The 4 stars is for the band, while fun and lovely extremely loud. It was very difficult to speak over them and we were seated several tables away. I loved the music, just would love it if they were a little less loud.

Brought my dad and sister for happy hour and we all experienced the Terraza for the first time after hearing good things. They certainly did not disappoint! My sister ordered the calamari and all three of us agreed it was the best calamari we had ever had. It was very flavorful but most of all very tender, which is refreshing after becoming familiar with chewy calamari at other establishments. She also got the fish tacos which she liked but her only complaint was the sauce did not have much flavor. As soon as I saw it on the menu, I had to try it as I had heard the meat was very high quality. A Wagyu burger! It was as promised. I ordered medium, and it was cooked perfectly and was as delicious as I was expecting. My dad ordered clam chowder, and being in the desert, good clam chowder is hard to come by. However, he rated it as the best clam chowder he’s had since his favorite at another local Tucson restaurant. The local craft beer was great and well priced, and the house margarita suggested by our waitress was excellent. The happy hour menu is my favorite in Tucson, with half price off appetizers and even some entrees! As our meal ended, a small band began to play some very nice live music, which they have every night on the patio. It wasn’t too loud and garnered applause from the diners at the end of each instrumental number. I will definitely be scheduling our next girls’ night out with my friends here.

When you have to take it up a few notches to impress your significant other… beautiful patio seating with clear view of Catalinas. Nice selection of wines but Prosecco and upper tier wines not 50% off for HH. Sangaria is great and so are HH red wines. Lunatic red blend is robust and oaky but Qupe Syrah is mellow but not ridiculous. Malbecs are not part of HH pricing but hey u only live uno time. Food is app based so get a plate to share instead of calamari or mac cheese. They should have a cheese plate instead of fondue. You can valet park car but unfortunately my mop bucket toyota will not turn into chariot after valet parking. Maybe if I had convertible.

Amazing deals at Happy Hour. Enjoy some against half priced eats on the patio and savor a sangria while taking in the sunset. I would highly recommend ordering the calamari here. I also liked how all the tables had a small container of sea salt on them. I love salt and can be a bit picky about it so this was a huge plus for me :)

I have spent the past week cooling off, now able to write what I hope is a more objective and helpful review of our experience here. My husband and I visited this restaurant on two consecutive Friday’s, the first alone, the second with two guests. Our first experience was delightful, featuring a good musician, Corey Spector, excellent service and good food. Our second visit was an abomination! One of our guests was a little late(10 min) so admittedly the timing might have thrown the waiter off. Once she arrived it took another 20 minutes for him to return to take our drinks order. Unsure when we would see him again we placed our meal order as well. Our drinks came as did our appetizers in a timely fashion. But we had only ordered two appetizers for four people, so small plates were needed for each to share. Sitting in the high top chairs to the east must have made us invisible. We could not wave down a waiter for our life! Finally, I had to get up and go to the bussing station to make the request. I expected the main course to follow in 15 – 20 minutes, but it was a full hour later until it arrived and then only after I again waved down a waiter to get it. On top of that the pork dish ordered from the Grill menu came undercooked! Do those seats need white flags to raise for attention? After the meal I mentioned the poor service to the waiter. What was the cause, is the kitchen too busy? Is HDS growing to the point it is unable to handle the business? His reply was a firm«No». Of course, my concern prompted free desserts for all, followed by a glass of some expensive port, a ‘mea culpa’. For some that might be the right thing to do but it was already 9:30 and I was ready to hit the road. Our guests enjoyed the treats. But poor service hardly leaves me wanting to remain in place or visit again! Instead of doing what management wants to do to make up for it, why doesn’t management ask the one complaining? I would have forgiven all sins right then and there, nor asked for a discount with a simple admission. Making me stay there, bringing goods to ply my forgiveness only makes me feel like you’re …uhm, I won’t use the language here. Last thing, there was nothing short of the the worst Muzak group playing in the background, electric piano, not a single recognizable song.

Went with a few friends today for happy hour. We had a great waiter named Paul. We started with chips & salsa & guacamole everything tasted homemade. We also got the nachos. They had bite size pieces of chicken. The views for the property are amazing! I will be back for sure!

We don’t get out much with having a baby, but were excited to meet my friends here for happy hour… let’s just say maybe we had the wrong server??? And we do not complain much. We love great food. We have had great food and service at the Terraza before and at the Grill, so we thought this would be a winner for happy hour with our good friends. Ummm… sorry. First he gave us the breakfast menu. Then, we didn’t get checked on for several minutes(before happy hour) and he came by at 602pm. He said«anything else you’d like before happy hour closes?» And we ordered. Then he said«actually we cannot process that order, would you still like to have that?» Well… that would defeat the idea of happy hour wouldn’t it? So we ordered just a couple more drinks, our friends opted out of food since a taco was $ 42 on the menu :(THEN our food came out wrong, duplicates from other tables. Our daughter got the wrong order. AND did not get the dessert included w her meal. Finally, the server didn’t follow instructions with the bill and almost took a $ 40 tip which was meant to go towards the bill! Which took forever with the manager to figure out the bill. Needless to say we felt bad for asking our friends out due to this. Beautiful place, but what a bummer :(Please get better service we love you!

Terraza Patio & Lounge has such a Tucson vibe going on that it’s easy to spend time there. I was at a charity event on Sunday and got a little bored with the food and drink as only wines, cheeses, fruits and a bit of veggies were on the menu. After spending an appropriate amount of time at the event and bidding on a few silent auction items, we hightailed it out of the event in the courtyard and on to the lovely outdoor seating area of Terraza. The wait staff is incredibly attentive and make sure your needs are met. We were immediately served water and a bowl of their sweet & spicy popcorn — yowza! That’s tasty stuff. I have a favorite drink that isn’t on the menu but all I have to do is ask for it and it’s served to me. A couple of years ago while visiting Terraza, a young bartender concocted a blackberry jalapeño margarita that I believe was temporarily on the menu and I was lucky enough to have one. I’ve tried other beverages at Terraza and while they’re all really good, I’m crazy about the heavenly blackberry jalapeño drink. It’s slightly sweet and very spicy… definitely not for wienies. Both A & I ordered it on Sunday and like usual, no problem. We split an order of sweet & spicy calamari and it is one of the better calamari appetizers I’ve ever had. It’s lightly breaded kind of like it was just dusted with panko and then I don’t know what they do because it’s almost like the calamari is then grilled instead of fried. It’s incredibly light and clean tasting and then topped with a delicious cabbage slaw and Thai sweet chili sauce. So good! It never hurts that they have incredible musicians entertaining guests on the patio. Our meh Sunday afternoon turned in to a very pleasurable experience.

Only had margaritas and chips, salsa and guac here, but the guac is fantastic! The margaritas could use just a touch less simple syrup in their mix, but they were good enough to order 2! The service was friendly … server was a bit slammed but a great job of dealing with it.

As you can already see in the picture it is a gorgeous place. It look great in a sun and in a snow. The staff is very friendly and really know their menu. I enjoyed a salad, a salmon sandwich and a glass of a wine. I love the sandwich with a real pumpernickel bread. The ambiance is wonderful and everyone is very friendly. I could give it 5 stars but then maybe I just need to go back and check a few more things out. Overall a very nice place to relax.

If you didn’t know, the Terraza Grill at Hacienda del Sol recently had a kitchen expansion and menu update. I can’t believe I hadn’t come in for dinner since Unilocal’s Elite event on August 1st. Time flies! Over the weekend, four of us stopped in for a relaxing dinner out on the patio. Thanks to our delightful server, Jay, a warm welcome from Dylan, manager & sommelier and the delicious food, our evening was perfection! Shortly after we were seated, a hefty bowl of complimentary caramel popcorn was brought out. Sweet, salty, and crunchy; it was the perfect snack! I stuck to my favorite cocktail: The Sonoran Ice Water: Tequila, lemon juice, soda water and agave nectar. So fresh and crisp! And it complimented my dinner choice quite well. The new menu updates are incredible, making it hard to make a decision. Since I was lucky enough to sample several of those items at Unilocal’s Garden Soirée, I went for something I hadn’t tried yet. I ordered the Salmon and Cous-Cous Salad. Best cous-cous salad I’ve had in town! Organic Salmon tossed with Israeli couscous, mint, tomatoes, cucumbers and arugula. Incredibly flavorful, yet light. A perfect Summer dish. I look forward to coming back for more couscous and spreading the word. Others in the group ordered the fish tacos, which I’ve enjoyed many times, the tenderloin tips(also a new menu item), and the Shrimp Enchiladas. I had a bite of the tenderloin tips and the shrimp enchiladas and both dishes were incredibly delicious. I’d say that at $ 18, the tenderloin dish is very well priced. The portion size was extremely generous and the dish itself was a 10 out of 10 in my book. The shrimp enchiladas were Mexican comfort food at its best. How can you go wrong with Panela & Oaxaca cheese mixed with Poblanos and Shrimp? You can’t. For dessert we all shared the S’more with a side of S’more ice cream. As always, the dessert was inventive and scrumptious. I love that Hacienda del Sol dedicates itself to keeping the menu fresh and interesting. Coming to the Terraza Grill is more than just eating out. It’s always a warm and cozy experience, almost like home. I just love it here!
