Service was good but the food was not I’m sorry to say. Being Mexican and native of Tucson I know Mexican food. The beans were from a can, rice was good texture but tasteless. Taco was ok but fell apart. Tamale was nothing special. With 3 really great Mexican restaurants nearby they need to step up their game if they want to last. WAYTOMANYITEMSONMENU. Will try one more time in a few months.

Came to Taco Giro for breakfast to specifically try the Machaca(shredded beef and eggs with peppers and onions). It was delicious! Tender, shredded beef mixed with fluffy eggs, peppers and fried onions… you can’t really go wrong. Served with rice and beans and tortillas, it was a super filling breakfast to last you all day. Probably even enough for two people. Fresh chips and several different freshly-made salsas to try while you wait made for an overall successful breakfast.

Greeted and seated right away. Take some time exploring the menu … There are a lot of options. Ordered the #1 combo. It came with a beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. Beans tasted like the canned kind, rice was okay but a little bland. The enchilada was good, but I like mine very saucy and this was not. Meat in the taco was dry, very dry. Hubby had the same but his came with a chile relleno. He says everything was bland. Had a margarita that tasted like mix only, no tequila. Kind of disappointed based on the reviews. Might give it one more chance.

Horrible service. Lucia was rude and slow. Didn’t offer special or help with any suggestions. She up sold the ceviche without letting us know it was way more pricy. Food was ok, but not good for the price. So disappointed

I really love their fish taco Tuesday’s($ 0.99!) and their bean dip. My husband wasn’t a fan of their chimi, he said the meat was a little too chewy. Unfortunately(or fortunately) I’ve only ever eaten the fish tacos and they’ve always been tasty! They have a nice little salsa bar for you to pick and choose your own.

Great location and great Mexican food for the Northwest side of town by far the best in the area.

I liked the chicken tacos & used the salsa bar for some cilantro/onion mix & pico De Gallo. My husband liked shredded pork– beware supper juicy so supper messy! Place is clean! We ate outside I was also happy the tables were clean:) The girl behind the counter was really helpful with our questions seeing as how we were newbies! So stuffed were taking leftovers home! I had an awful experience. The food had a spoiled smell and they exchanged it twice. The server Laura was very rude and said it must be me. It smelled like spoiled fish. I asked if they kept the shrimp in the fridge and she said no. Then she said yes. I asked for the manager and there was none on duty. So reluctantly she gave me the name and phone number of the off duty manager and yellled that I better not call him because it was his day off. Then when I was paying she said I told you not to call him you got me in trouble. I emphasized that I was not rude to her so she should not be rude to me and that I did not want to risk to get food poisoning. I asked for the owner’s name and she would not provide it. Another waiter noticed and I was able to get the info from him. Stay away. Go to the one on Grande.

Amazing how many people liked this place or the food. Service was worst I ever had. Food took forever and the place is dead. I live super close maybe 2 miles from this place and love trying a new place. Never seen it packed. Ordered a normal chicken burrito and it was soggy and leaking everywhere just as greasy mess. When everything I order I’d consider high for Mexican food in Tucson to have such poor quality is unacceptable. Wife didn’t like her plate don’t remember what she had. Will never be back and it should have been a red flag when one 2 tables were seated and they didn’t look happy either.

We just stumbled upon this place and was very pleased. We sat at the bar and the bartender put on the AZ game for us. We got a col of drinks. Chips and salsa was great, but the Pasole was over the top. It was fulll of pork and flavor. The tortillas are definately just made. The staff hear is very friendly and on top of everything. We will definitely be back for the fish.

Not awful, but with some of the other options nearby unlikely that we’ll be coming back. Our server was nice, and the food was ok. The salsa bar is nice but the chips were stale.

This is the best of the 2 places … that I have gone. ITISSUPERBFOOD. The bean dip with chips, all the fresh salsas — oh yummm. The Jimica and Horchata drinks were among the best I have ever had. The fish taco dinner was excellent. Oddly the southern place is just not as good, you would think they have all the same recipes… oh well.

We have eaten here many times and everything is fantastic. Monday is 99 cent pork tacos, Tuesdays is 99 cent fish tacos. Their $ 5.99 lunch specials are awesome as well. I especially love their wet burritos and fajitas. Some of the best Mexican in Tucson, never had a bad meal. The ham steak breakfast is fantastic too!

I gave the Taco Giro on 22nd Street four stars, and as you can see I am giving this one five stars. The difference is that this one is more spacious and modern than the other one. The food is just as amazing. No matter which location I am at, I will surely enjoy the food on my plate. Hopefully soon I can try the third location near downtown. Crab enchiladas?! You can’t find them at a lot of places. Give it a shot if you have a craving for the seafood/Mexican fix. Also, Saturday nights features a keyboard player! Bring your family and/or friends to this location and you’ll have a great time. Service was great and the food came out warm and quick. The servers still don’t know enough English like the other location so it can get slightly awkward creating small talk with the employees. Still, they are very nice and friendly!

We were waited on quickly and provided a bowl of warm taco chips with a bowl of refried beans or at least that is what it tasted like. The server left an extra bowl on the table but we didn’t know until later what it was for. We had never been here before and it would have been nice if our server would have told us a few things about the place. That said, our server appeared not to understand English very well and had difficulty communicating in English with us. The kids ordered the quesadilla and a cheese enchilada which was not brought out initially until we reminded the server we had ordered it. My wife ordered what she thought was a shrimp cocktail. She asked the server if the picture was a shrimp cocktail and she said yes. It did have shrimp in it but also pieces of avocado’s, tomatoes, onions, and lots of liquid. It looked like a bowl of soup. It was served with crackers. She picked out the shrimp and left the rest and said she would not order it again. The kids ate their quesadillas and said they were okay, kind of hard to mess up a cheese quesadilla so that didn’t impress me very much. Then we found out when we asked for more chips and some salsa that in another part of the room behind a wall was a salsa bar. That was what the extra bowl was for. The salsa bar had several versions of salsa, chopped avocados, onions, and a few other things but nothing was marked so we could not tell what some of them were. I ordered the two cheese enchiladas combination. I asked the server if it came with the traditional choice of red sauce or green chili sauce. She seemed confused at first but I asked for the red sauce. What I got was a brownish yellow sauce. I could not figure out what this sauce was supposed to be. It tasted ok and I ate all of it but it was not what I preferred or ordered. The cost of two adults and two kids to eat was over $ 50.00 which was way too expensive for what we got and the quality of what we got. We will not return to this restaurant. My wife said the bathroom was cool. The toilet was painted in bright colors with a slice of watermelon drawn on the floor.

My boyfriend loves this place for its amazing happy hour prices and the prices on the menu are decent. We really do like everything about this place. They have a salsa bar, amazing enchiladas, burritos and drink prices. The margaritas are amazing too! The décor is a but crazy but I like it and the staff is very welcoming. The only thing that I would say is the rice is boring. Other than that we love it and will return!
