Super 8 Motel Tucson East / Dmaf Area

I usually wouldn’t stay at a super 8 but it was a long day of travel so my husband and I agreed it was cheap and easy to just go ahead and stay. Well first off, it’s not right off the freeway like it says online, it’s actually pretty far off the freeway. When we finally arrived I took one look and was already scared! I went in to get a room and was greeted by 2 rude staff members who seemed put out to help me. I took on step in the room and looked at my husband and told him we can’t stay here! My daughter ran in and laid on the bed as we talked about sticking it out or going to another hotel and she got a rash instantly from laying on the top of the comforter! The bath tub was black on the bottom and disgusting, stains all over the floor! So of course we decided to leave! As we are walking out I notice a sign in the door saying for safety remember to chain lock your door??? Scary! And as we walked out the cops were rushing in just around the corner! When we went back in to tell the man we wanted our money back for all those reasons he seemed annoyed and automatically didn’t want to give me my money back because he said his hotel was safe and clean! I assured him it was far from it! Finally talked him into giving me my money back on my credit card. We left in such a hurry trying to get my kids away from this place ASAP that once we got to our new hotel the very nice Marriott down the street I realized I didn’t get my card back from this horrible super 8! So we drove back. The staff member (his name was sunny) insisted he gave it back so before I got upset I turned my car upside down looking for it. It wasn’t in my car and I didn’t have it and I know for a fact he didn’t give it back to me! I told him I would call the police if he didn’t even try to look for my card. So after watching him pretend to look for my card I decided I was going to flip out on him and being that I’m pregnant it wasn’t worth it. But this situation caused me having to go through the trouble of calling the bank to cancel my card. (I never found my card) Don’t go to this hotel if you have cleanliness standards even if your just trying to save 20 bucks! It’s not work it AT ALL! Especially if you have kids! It’s disgusting, horrible and the damn near criminal staff is not an experience I wish on anyone! I wouldn’t even give this place a star but since you have to choose a start standard for Unilocal I chose 1 star, but PLEASE trust me when I say this hotel isn’t even worth half a star!

I made reservations at Super 8 without checking reviews and I won’t do that again. The place was run down and in bad shape. I didnt notice any cleanliness issues inside the room but outside I did. The worst part of the place was the rude staff. The front desk clerk was a real b***h.

I stayed at this location during the return drive during the Memorial Day 2008 Dallas-​Los Angeles Road Trip. I only did because I had a print out of a search I did for decent and affordable motels along the way.
Boy, was I off.
— This location was relatively far from I-​10. 5 miles far. There’s another Super 8 that’s right off the highway which looked not only convenient but a better bet.
— It’s in a nondescript part of town; nondescript being its sandwiched between a low end furniture store (which was going out of business at the time) and a 24 hr adult video arcade/​store/​whatever.
— The pool was filthy.
— The building definitely looks like its seen better days.
— The chain in my motel room door was broken, it looked like someone tried to force him/​herself in. Violently. There are iron gates on the second floor which are closed at night. I was too tired to ask what the were are why they were there.
— The single serve coffee machine still had the last occupant’s coffee grounds … right now I’m hoping it was the last occupants’.
The only good thing from the experience was the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant down the street which was excellent food– and service wise.
