This dry cleaner isn’t so bad. The older woman that usually is working was a little off putting but I think she was just tired because it was the end of the day and I did have all my clothes in a jumble. However she was very short with me all things considering. But the service was good. My clothes didn’t smell funny following the cleaning. The place didn’t smell bad either. I examined my clothes and they looked fine. I don’t get my suits dry cleaned often so I don’t expect much. If they look presentable then it’s all good. I brought 3 full suits and 7 shirts cost me less than $ 50 which was nice. I do wish they would have put pricing out front so you knew what exactly you were going to pay but other than that good experience can’t beat the price

I decided to try Sparkle Cleaners despite their low Unilocal rating, after having some issues with other cleaners in the area. The prices are definitely rock bottom, and you get what you pay for.
The curbside service is a nice feature, although other reviews commenting on the surliness of the staff are not far off. By far the most surreal moment was handing the woman a set of metal hangers with my shirts and having her say «Just for your reference, we only take the metal ones, but I can throw these out for you.» They were definitely normal metal hangers.
My shirts were done on time and the price was actually lower than she quoted me. But, like I said, you get what you pay for. When I got home, I found the shirts all had a strong, unpleasant, musty smell — but they DID appear to have been cleaned. Perhaps the reason for the curbside service is so you don’t get a whiff of the inside of the building.
Aside from the foul smell — which made me feel like I should have the shirts washed again before I wear them — the quality of the ironing was quite low. In several cases, parts of the shirt were folded the wrong direction and then ironed into place.
Don’t let the surly staff scare you off — the smell of your clothes will be plenty.

First visit: double-​creased pair of suit pants.

These are the only suit pants I have, by the by. They’re a hundred bucks, which for modest ol’ me is bloody expensive. They were tailored.
They were rendered useless by this location, and this was back in May. By late bloody June I’ve finally been routed to the owner, Heath Bolin, who was not exactly the nicest guy to deal with and that’s putting it mildly.
To his credit he never cursed or yelled, but that’s about all I can say for him.
The onsite staff, who may well be responsible for the irreversible damage to the pants – she was quite nice and so was the district manager through the whole process. The policy when an item is damaged beyond repair is to take possession of said item and recompense you for the cost of a replacement. I refused to surrender the pants that were damaged because I didn’t feel I should be penalized for their error (Mr Bolin contested that an ‘error’ had been made at all). The repair they’d attempted was so laughably subpar that I didn’t even know what to say. The old hooks had been torn from the pants as well as about a half-​inch of fabric.
Now I had had these pants tailored to fit, and they’d only had so much give in the first place. With missing fabric, poorly-​placed new hooks (that don’t even line up with the new eyes – the old ones didn’t need removal) and visible funky stitching, they sure as heck don’t fit any longer. They’re the only pair of suit pants I had, and I’d lost a ton of weight last year and none of my regular dress pants fit for beans anymore.
Mr Bolin refused to budge on his policy, and he heavily implied I was out to get a ‘free’ pair of pants from him by claiming the «perfect repair» was faulty and that I had «no use «for the old pants. He hardly let me speak and wouldn’t accept a compromise of 75% of the pants’ value, not even asking for recompense for tailoring that’d have to be done for new pants – he wanted the old ones. Why? To
«donate to charity.» Forgive me, sir, but what’s a hundred bucks to you?
What’s a hundred bucks to me, and the only pair of pants I had that fit (and looked bloody sharp)? What’s a month and a half without them? Why would I go through these bloody hoops to scam you out of something that is mine?
I should have paid attention to the other reviews; recurring problems and outright damage seem to be typical. Hoping that the BBB for what they’re worth will have something to help me out with. It’s freaking silly to go through this for a pair of pants, but dude – what the hell?

Whites shirts turned yellow. Business pants not creased. Charged to redo. Generally crappy. Wrote a long polite letter saying so. No response.

Unfortunately, this is the Sparkle location that we mainly use, and I suppose will continue to use. They have the best prices in town that I’ve found, and they do a reasonably ok job cleaning standard shirts and pants. They also have a drive-​thru drop-​off/​pick-​up lane, which would be nice if the staff there wasn’t always annoyed when you pull up to it.
I’ve never seen a place where every single employee looks like they’re actively being tortured. They just don’t want to help you. Hand them your stuff, and get out of their faces. And if you use one of their laundry bags that they have linked to your account, good luck getting an item count receipt. They actually act like they’ve never heard of a receipt before and get visibly irritated. It takes like fifteen seconds to print, what’s the big deal? Almost every experience at this Sparkle puts me in a bad mood for a few minutes.
But, like I said, they’ve never messed up our clothing and always have everything done at the promised time, and sometimes early. If you want the best prices, take advantage of their bulk cleaning deals. Five shirts or more gets a good discount. Three pairs of pants or more gets an even better discount. It saves a lot of money.
TIP: DON’T SIGN UP FOR THEIR SAVINGS PROGRAM! You have to write all of your credit/​debit card information on a sheet of paper, which is left on a counter until someone gives it to their accountant-​type person to enter into their system. This compromises you. I don’t recommend it.
Anyway, we’ll continue using this location now and then due to the convenient location, good prices, and decent cleaning.

Ruined a jacket, lost 2 shirts, broken shirt buttons, overcharged and manager hung up on me, all within a month.

I really don’t like Sparkle Cleaners and I need to find a new dry cleaner.
Others have mentioned this issue, but they iron a permanent bar code to your clothes tag, which is really annoying.
Every single time I’ve gone to pick up clothes a the drive-​through location on Speedway between Euclid and Park, the woman attendant acts like it’s SO ANNOYING that you’ve come to pick up your clothes. My favorite expensive coat came back missing a completely irreplaceable button, and the attendant just said that happens sometimes and there’s nothing they can do.
And every time I’ve noted a spot or stain that needs a little more attention, it’s never come out, AND there’s not a «Sorry, we couldn’t get this» note that other dry cleaners use.
My biggest complaint is there’s absolutely no pricing information. Anywhere. Not even a price range listed. When I ask, «How much will this be?» for a coat or pair of pants, the person working has said it depends on how big the coat is, and the material, and if there’s spots, etc.
I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH A SERVICE WILL COST BEFORE I BUY IT. I don’t appreciate lame statements that it all depends with drycleaning. Post a range, or post SOMETHING. It just seems like a huge rip-​off.
Like I mentioned, I need to find a new dry cleaner.

I am very disappointed with this place.
I drove all the way across town to use this Dry Cleaner, because of the good reviews on here (this is before the Reviews from Rachael and Dave brought down the rating).
Now I feel obligated to write a review and warn others. I wish someone had warned me about this!!!
Apparently they put permanent BAR CODES on your clothes.
There was a bar code on the label of my suit jacket. The suit jacket is something I take off and put against a chair or what not. I don’t want people seeing bar codes on my friggin suit jacket. There’s also a barcode on the suit pants, annoying, but not as terrible since it’s not visible. And then on the inside of my suit pants, they wrote my name in huge letters using PERMANENT WHITE PAINT of some kind, the handwriting is awful too!
WTF!!!
When you drop off your clothes at a dry cleaner, you don’t ever think to ask «hey are you going to put a permanent BAR CODE on my clothes that’s visible when I take off my suit jacket and write on my clothes in white paint with crappy handwriting?». That just doesn’t cross my mind to ask that! But apparently, I need to start doing that.
When I called them, the lady explained that it is something they started a few years ago to make the dry cleaning items easier to locate.
I wish they would give the customer a heads up about this. They have to realize that not everyone wants a bar code or their name written on the inside of their nice suits.
I’ve used numerous dry cleaners in various cities over the years and have NEVER encountered this.
I tried to tear off the bar code and it ended up ripping the label on the suit jacket.
For the pants, I couldn’t get the bar code off, so I called the store back. The person said to try using an iron. I did so… many many attempts. So I took it to another Sparkle Cleaner location (one that’s closer to my home), and he used their industrial «400 degree» iron and then was able to melt the glue and take off the label. However, the back of the label remains on the cloth (looks like a white smear) and he says it’s permanent. :-(
Neither of the locations ever offered to remedy the situation or give me some sort of compensation. Not even a simple «sorry» which is free for them to give out. The cleaning was already overpriced and they ruined my favorite suit! I don’t have very much money right now to be replacing suits. This makes me so mad!
I will never use this place again. When I try a new dry cleaner’s I will also ask before dropping off the dry cleaning, whether they write on your clothes or put bar codes on them.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Tried this place for the first time: missing buttons on 2 new dress shirts and 1 pair of slacks. They also LOST another pair of slacks and wanted to charge me $ 1 to fix the missing buttons. Worst customer service experience ever– save yourself a headache… Go to the other dry cleaners across the street.

What I like about this location is the fact that you don’t even need to get out of your car if you are dropping off or picking up dry cleaning.
We have used other dry cleaners around town and Sparkle seems to have better prices than most.
Bottom line: convenient location, reasonable price and good service. They even asked if we would like a bottle of water after they loaded our dry cleaning in the back seat. I will likely use Sparkle for my dry cleaning needs from now on.

I was in quick need to have a suit dry cleaned in one day and this is the only place on the east side of Tucson that could deliver. Since, I have been back multiple times and everything is always ready next day. I am definitely a fan.

went to this sparkle cleaner’s location to have my uniform for work altered. mendel’s wife the tailor did a good job on the alterations. will be going back if i ever need anything like that done again.
