Description

Specialties

Scordato’s Pizzeria specializes in making the ordinary, extraordinary. Virtually everything that can be made from scratch in house is prepared by our excellent staff from tried and true recipes with the finest ingredients using the utmost care. Daniel Scordato prides himself in his ability to take mundane menu items like fried mozzarella and basic pasta dishes and bring them to life. Both the Fried Mozzarella — Fresh mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto then battered and fried to a golden brown and served with a Calabrian aioli and the Pork Penne — penne pasta in a creamy parmasean sauce topped with grilled thinly sliced pork tenderloin and garnished with baby arugula are perfect examples of his creativity. Of course the star of our show, we are a pizzeria after all, is our Artisan Pizzas. With ten varieties to choose from you can still create your own unique masterpiece that is cooked to caramelized perfection in our state of the art oven that is capable off cooking at a blistering 900 degrees. You can complete your culinary journey by indulging in one of our unique dessert offerings that, like everything else is prepared in-house, including the Gelato.

History

Established in 2009.

Pizzeria Vivace was originally opened in March of 2009 in St Philip’s Plaza on the SE corner of Campbell and River in Tucson AZ as. Daniel Scordato later changer the name to Scordato’s Pizzeria to avoid confusion with his other restaurant — Vivace Restaurant that was located in the plaza as well. While the plaza was charming and quaint, both have since moved to their current locations to take advantage of the larger kitchens and abundant parking. Vivace is now located at Campbell and Sunrise across the street from La Encantada in the Catalina Foothills. The Pizzeria moved this past April to Campbell and River and continues to enjoy success with it’s expanded menu and abundant parking.

Meet the Business Owner

Daniel S.

Business Owner

Born into a restaurant family, Daniel Scordato continues to live up to the impossibly high standards set by the familial patriarch, James Scordato Sr. some 42 years ago at the family’s restaurant on west Speedway in Tucson AZ. In the early 80’s., Daniel left the security of the family business and struck out on his own to open his namesake restaurant, Daniel’s.at the tender age of 25. Although he eventually wound up selling Daniel’s, he took many of those life lessons he learned with him so that when opportunity knocked a few years later, in the form of Vivace, he was in a position to hit the ground running. The success of Vivace has afforded him the opportunity to expand his horizons which has led to the present and Scordato’s Pizzeria where he continues to make the ordinary, extraordinary.
