Said they would hold the piece I picked out. When I called to give credit card and make pick up plans, they had ‘just’ sold it. Disappointing.
Dying relative wanted to get this replacement ring for me, otherwise I’d never have looked nor would it be a big deal.
I’d have happily made a deposit If it had been suggested or mentioned. It wasn’t. I wish them well in their retirement.

My wedding planner recommended that I check out Rainbow and upon my first visit, I fell in love with the entire «Rainbow experience». I had sent Joanne some pictures of wedding rings I loved, and Joanne matched them perfectly for me. She ordered in 3 custom rings that matched my style for me to try on. In that moment, after months of searching, I finally found my wedding ring through her assistance. The other owner, Michael, is a blast! Every time I visited Rainbow jewelers, Michael had me laughing so hard. I can’t stress enough what a fun experience I had shopping for our wedding rings here. Certainly one of the highlights of my wedding planning process. I highly recommend it. Selection is great, owners are superb.

I found the prices to be high and the quality of repair work low.

I took two watches in to be repaired. I was heartened at how helpful Michael was to me. He said it would be no problem to quickly fix the issues with my watches and that they would be ready early the next day. When I returned the next day the watches were ready and he only charged me $ 20 plus tax. I highly recommend Rainbow Jewelers.

Rainbow jewelers is amazing! I had specific requests for what I wanted done with some jewelry I owned (restyled old rings) and they did a beautiful job. I got exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price. They know the meaning of customer service and value! Totally recommend them!

Using Rainbow Jewelers was a wonderful experience!
I bought a ring for a friend in Europe, and needed it sized down a size. Not only was I quoted a price that was half, or more than half, of what the chain in the mall quoted, but they said they would do it in one day since I was going out of town. They actually sized it that day and called me a few hours later. I also appreciate how friendly they were!

Our encounter first began when my husband and I accidentally (and unknowingly) bought an engagement ring in very bad condition from the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. When we brought it to Rainbow Jewelers to be fixed, they educated us on what to look for in the future, when assessing the quality of a ring. Because they knew were in a bind, they cut the price way down for fixing the ring. They were extremely sympathetic and kind through the whole process.
Well, that little ring ended up breaking the day before our honeymoon (extra clarification: we did NOT purchase this ring from them. They simply did their best to fix a ring that was ultimately on its way to breaking). The only place I wanted to go to get a new ring was Rainbow Jewelers. I really trust them, and they’re completely direct and genuine with you. I had the crazy idea in my head to get a ring THAT DAY before our honeymoon, but one of the owners of Rainbow Jewelers asked me if that’s what I really wanted. She helped me rationalize the decision, and recommended that I wait until I know what I really want, so I don’t rush into anything. Seriously! They are so ethical and trustworthy! Her husband came out and said he could temporarily fix the ring for our trip, and he would have it ready that day!
Rainbow Jewelers is the real deal, and the couple who owns it is extremely honest, moral, and wants the best for their customers long term. I feel so well taken care of when I go there for any of my jewelry needs.

I can’t begin to say enough good things about Rainbow Jewelers. I came in looking for help making a custom engagement ring. They had outstanding reviews on Unilocal and for good reason.
Michael and Joanne were patient, easy going, and helpful. At no time did I feel pressured to make a purchase or that I was being used to meet any type of sales goals (like the big box stores). This was a big purchase and the expertise, knowledge, and overall great customer service made this far less stressful. They worked to make sure every detail of the ring was exactly how I wanted it and communicated with me through every step of the process. They really are such great people to deal with.
This is the only place I will be spending my money in Tucson from now on. I highly recommend them.

So I feel a bit guilty… this review should have been written QUITE a while ago. As in, I’ve been addicted to Rainbow for numerous years now. :-)
For starters, I found Rainbow Jewelers by googling/​yelping the highest rated Tucson jewelry stores a few years ago. I am very picky with my jewelry and have walked straight out of shops if I didn’t trust the quality of their workmanship or felt harassed by their sales people. When I walked in to Rainbow, I immediately relaxed. The store is very nice & laid out in a straight-​forward and simple manner. They have VERY high quality stock from numerous unique designers. The owners, Joanne & Michael, and their associates do their best to let you browse to your heart’s content after asking if they can help you with anything. Michael was able to quote repair prices to me almost immediately after inspecting the piece. But the truly amazing part was that when I returned, Michael mentioned that he had cleaned the whole piece, fixed the clasp and repaired the break and that there was no extra cost for any of it!
And that set the trend for all of my interactions with Rainbow.
Since then we have had more jewelry inspected, cleaned, and repaired. Batteries have been replaced and watch bands swapped. Speaking of watches, their selection is very nice and resulted in quite a few purchases! We have also worked with Joanne and Michael to create custom pieces and have had the chance to obtain richly hued, well-​cut gemstones at a fraction of what we would pay elsewhere. They were very patient with my finicky nature and were always courteous to help me fully understand what I was requesting/​purchasing. I will point out that they are EXTREMELY honest and will not attempt to create or offer anything they believe is sub-​par.
And to top it all off, my brother (who lives in another state and has never even visited the store) appreciated their handiwork enough to have the Rainbows design and create his engagement ring. From another state! Joanne mentioned that they do this all the time. We still held our breath until it showed up, though. :-) His fiancée thinks its the most suitable and spectacular piece of jewelry she has ever seen.
I can’t praise the Rainbows enough, for their ready smiles and welcoming natures as much as for their workmanship. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them and I look forward to doing so for many years to come!

Follow-​up to my 2012 review: Last week my wife and I went back to Tucson to visit her family and we stopped in Rainbow to get her rings cleaned. Michael examined the ring and noticed there was a side stone missing. He said he could get it replaced, cleaned and back to my wife before we left town. Two days later we got a call that the ring was ready and we went in. The side diamond was replaced and the ring looked brand spanking new. The biggest surprise was that there was NO CHARGE for any of this! Not every day you can say you got a free diamond! I fully expected to be charged so I was totally blown away. That is what you get with Rainbow, they stand by their products for life.

I found this place via Google while reseaching alternative metals for our wedding rings. They are super nice and bend over backwards to accommodate our every desire. We ended up getting cobalt mokame-​gane rings for a fraction of the cost of precious metals. Should be more durable also!

Holy gem and a half. Rainbow Jewelers was an incredible find and actually one recommended by a friend. While my fiancé has yet to write a review, I hope he does, since he directly worked with the owners, Michael and Joanne and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire experience, from ordering diamonds to inspect to designing the setting, etc, I can speak to my experience after receiving the ring! It’s an almost perfect fit, so we stopped in to see about getting it resized. The moment we walked in they both said «you must be Isabella! We’ve heard all about you. And your guy really made you a special ring.» My heart melted right away as they filled me in on the story of how my ring came to be :) It was clear that they were just as thorough at my fiancé; that they cared as much as he did about finding exactly what he was looking for and ordering stones just for him. G.I.A. paperwork was provided to us right away too. Their five-​star status is earned on their quality of care and customer service. We talked about options for resizing and decided it would be best to see how it fits during the summer. They cleaned my ring and told me stop by any time I’m in the neighborhood for a cleaning. The handwritten note we got in the mail was the icing on the cake– snail mail is a rarity these days. I have other items that could use a cleaning and some adjustments and Rainbow is my top choice now. We’ll be back to work on our custom wedding bands too.

Rainbow Jewelers is such a great find. The couple that owns the business, the Rainbows, are so patient, easy-​going and helpful. My husband bought my ER here and the Rainbows gave him a primer on the process and were always sensitive to any price constraints. When we started shopping for our wedding rings, I looked online, stopped in to other retail chains, but no surprise, ended up back at Rainbow. They offer excellent quality at fair prices. They never seemed put out when I needed to have my ring resized a couple of times and polished. They are great, highly recommend.

This place is deserving of its five-​star status. I needed links removed from a watch band and after checking Unilocal,I came here. I was helped as soon as I walked in the door, and in about five minutes or less I was out the door with a properly-​sized watch and the extra links. The gentleman who helped me was really nice and the price seemed reasonable to me. I’d absolutely come here again for any jewelry repair needs. Thanks, Rainbow!

I broke my gold chain and called to see how long it would take. I called a few places and it would be 4 to 5 business days.
After checki ng Unilocal,I found the best. Rainbow Jewelers. The man I spoke to told me it would be a few days. Then asked more about it. I needed it that day for a special reason and it was just a small link chain that one of the links broke.
He said that if I brought it in right away he would fit it in.
Not only was it done in just over an hour, the charge was so low that I almost felt guilty.
I will return many times in the future and hope you discover this treasure as I have.

If you want an honest jeweler with good humor and great service go here. Very good pricing and fast service. I had my heirloom ring re sized and they do beautiful work. I will use them for all my future needs.

Let me start this review off by saying there is a reason why when you Google «Rainbow Jewelers Tucson» you’ll find nothing but great reviews.
I first heard about Rainbow Jewelers when my fiancé told me that this was where he found the perfect engagement ring. He had nothing but nice things to say about the centrally-​located, locally-​owned store. His experience was low pressure and he felt like the owners, Michael and Joanne were honest. They take pride in their work, and won’t sell someone a crap diamond just because it’s big. They emphasize quality, and it’s not just a gimmick.
I knew that I didn’t want the Big Chain Store experience when I decided to buy Josh a watch as an engagement present, so I decided to pay a visit to Rainbow for myself. As soon as I walked in, Joanne greeted me with a smile. Michael was busy with other customers who seemed like they’d been to Rainbow before.
As I debated between three choices which were exactly what I was looking for in three different ways, I sighed and told her that that my ring was purchased at Rainbow, maybe she remembered Josh? «OH YES!» she exclaimed. She looked at my ring, smiled and offered to clean it.
I knew she did remember Josh because the first watch she took away was the flashy one. I liked having a personal touch with the people who helped me make my purchase.
I can’t say enough good things about this place so you’ll just have to go visit for yourself. We will definitely be paying a visit to this local gem (pun intended) for our wedding bands.
