The Quality Inn Flamingo is a must stay for those interested in movies and nostalgia. The Quality Inn Flamingo has been a home away from home to many actors and actress of today and yesteryear, being the hotel of hotels during their filming of many western movies. Such names as Costner, Eastwood, Douglas, Wayne and Newman have rested their head at the Quality Inn Flamingo, just to name a few.

The Quality Inn Flamingo is a unique hotel, as we have tried to keep up the nostalgia and originality of the hotel. The quality inn downtown Tucson is not in the best location– I had some concerns about the safety of my car– but for the price$ 59 and the quality of the room– it was worth the risk. Pretty quiet with large flat screen tv, iron comfortable bed. The breakfast was pretty good to — awesome thick cut bacon typical round scrambled egg Patty– donuts coffee with flavored creams. Nice touch staff friendly too– for the price highly recommend.

3 is generous and only because staff was nice at the front desk. Room wasn’t ready. We were told not all rooms have refrigerators or coffee machines. Carpet was stained. Not much to do in walking distance. Breakfast waffles & coffee were great! Nice dining area.

Upon pulling in, the place looked promising. Nice lobby and breakfast area and decent-​looking pool area. HOWEVER, we asked for a non-​smoking room and were given one that was obviously not. The bottom, dresser drawer kept sliding fully open as well. My wife quickly went to the front desk to ask for another and, although the clerk wasn’t blatantly rude, she clearly appeared «put out» by our request. When I went past the front desk for breakfast the next morning, the clerk didn’t even make eye contact.
They advertise queen beds but, unfortunately, both rooms had doubles instead. A fridge and microwave are in the room and the bathroom facility was adequate.
They were power washing the sidewalks when were there as well. No need for a wake-​up call at 8a since they fired up the very loud machines right about then (and the noise went on for hours). Nice that they are trying to improve the place, but they blew a bunch of paint chips under the door onto the carpet and never bothered to vacuum them up either night we were there.
The outdoor pool appeared nice but had a lot of debris — no one had skimmed it out. The hot tub was not working properly — no working air jets and only «bathtub» warm.
It seems like this could be a decent place but is just poorly managed.
gave this place 4 stars, but it is definitely NOT deserving from our experience.
This place may deserve 2 stars overall but I’ll give it 1 for falsely advertising queen beds.
There are undoubtedly much better places in the Tucson area for the money.

Did I somehow end up in a room for people the front desk doesn’t like?
I read these reviews prior to choosing this hotel. Upon arriving, I waited a good chunk of time until someone came. I finally get all checked in & chose the 2nd floor. The place is under renovations fyi. The floor when you go upstairs were plywood. The room looked okay. I was tired from driving all day so I didn’t really noticed anything. Dun dun dun. It all went down hill from there like domino. The gf sees the walls badly painted. I mean badly painted. It looked like someone let their kids paint. So then I noticed the bathroom was also unfinished with the paint job with a loose sink faucet. Last but not least, the door. Due to the renovation, there was a huge gap between the door and the floor. Big enough where critters could slip through. Not small critters like roaches. You know snakes, rats, mice…
Oh! The area isn’t that bad as others posted. But it’s no fancy neighborhood if that’s what you’re looking for.
I’m not very picky with hotels. We just needed to sleep for the night to head back out the next day. Since I didn’t know the area well, I was okay paying a little more than I wanted for being near the tourist trap area. Bad idea. You’ll pay for the location. The hotel is not worth the price. I’ve slept in a 1 star hotel that was nicer.

We had the best time here! The front desk person I did not catch his name sadly but I know he had recently come down from ny to tucson. He was the sweetest and helped us out of towners so much! He showed us the map and help pointed us where we were on it. What festivities were going on in Tucson this weekend we came up. This place was a dream. I love how they kept the vintage feel of the place. The rooms were so so clean and also I was surprised on how great the breakfast was! We had the best breakfast I think I have had at a hotel. The room was neat and tidy and I was happy to see a fridge and microwave. Also they have a soda machine on site if you wanted a soda. The breakfast place was adorable! It neatly designed it had beautiful black, white, orange colors which was very decorative. If we ever have to come back to Tucson we know where we are staying! If anyone is looking for a place this is it!

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover is kind of the motto here. The outside sign looks like it hasn’t been touched since 1960 and the area contains a very crowded liquor store and also contains a bunch of homeless and police activity at times. Other hotels in the vicinity also appear to have remained untouched since the Vietnam War. The entrance to your rooms are also guarded by a gated door — yes you must put your key into the gate just to gain access to room area and this is an all outside motel. Once you get inside, the rooms are pretty nice and the bed is comfortable, but you need to bring air freshener because the rooms have a musty odor and it is pretty bad. THe breakfast buffet is not worth shaking a stick at either. Good for one night only, but probably the best of the worst in this part of town.

card. This is a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

My ac broke and its hot and humid. Called the hotel and made a reservation
and they asked me for my address. When I told them Tucson, the hotel desk clerk Andres, told me that, base on my national origin, he would not allow me to stay at the hotel.
Support local Tucson people, by NOT giving them your business.
Quality Inns runs the place. I called them and spoke to Kelly (choice Hotels)
she would not give her last name or city she worked in. After keeping me on hold for 20 minutes, she said she spoke with Andres and agreed with his decision.
I will be calling the US Attorney asking for help when they open in the AM.
Quality Inns have multiple actions against them for discrimination by the Justice department.

Being in the shadier part of town, I expected something out of the ghetto in Albuquerque that I have stayed in before. We were pleasantly surprised! Very comfy, and more importantly: very clean. No sign of bed bugs, disgusting stains, or broken appliances. Working TV, roomy shower and bathroom, and clean sheets. Very affordable too! Free breakfast, WiFi that isn’t jammed up, and of course, friendly staff.
Definitely staying here again when we come back to Tucson.

The antique sign is a trip, and it’s not really in that bad of a neighborhood.
But the rest of the establishment has little to recommend it. From the iffy maintenance on the ceiling of our room to the lack of a refrigerator (microwave but no fridge), to the cloudy-​watered pool to the limited and kinda stale breakfast buffet to the janky WiFi to the non-​functioning remote control to the lamp I had to move the bed to plug back into the wall to the ungrounded outlets in each room, you haven’t uncovered any diamond in the rough here. It’s cheap for a reason.
It’s more expensive than the dumps. .. .er, budget hotels along the freeway for one reason: location, location, location. Maybe that’s three reasons. Or one reason times three. It’s not much more than stumbling distance from the bars of 4th Avenue and is just up Stone from downtown Tucson.

Had some trouble at check in where they couldn’t find my reservation. However, they did have rooms available so after 30 min we checked in. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. There was very little air conditioning in the lobby in the morning for breakfast. I travel lots so my emphasis is on the quality of the rooms and they were nice.

I don’t usually stay at Quality Inns very often, but the reviews I read sold me on it. We were very happy with our stay. The lobby has a cool retro 60’s look. The manager was nice enough to let us swim in the pool after hours which was so nice after arriving late from a long drive from Cali in 110 degree heat. The pool is surrounded by beautiful palm trees. The perfect oasis. The rooms are remodeled and very comfortable. At this price, I don’t think you can beat it.

Cheap hotel and you really get what you pay for.
–If you put do not disturb on you door and the cleaners came before you take it down, they will never come back and clean your room.
–The shower doesn’t work right. I had to fiddle a lot to get the desired temperature. And mind you, I requested another room and we had the same problem.
–Staff can become rude. I made a complain about our room being dirty and she snapped at me then blamed me for it.
–Everything looks so old that it is falling apart.
I’m definitely not coming back here.

After Reading the reviews I was confident this would be a great spot to sleep. We are traveling from Bakersfield, Ca to San Antonio, TX. Great Price. Comfy beds the comforter is a really nice touch. Really Clean and crisp. Fluffy pillows more than two on each bed is a nice plus. Flat screen, microwave, fridge for $ 59 99 plus tax. Would stay again. Thanks for the help Unilocal

The next time we visit Tucson, I know where we are staying.
For a good price, you get a nice, comfortable bed in an attractive room. Let me tell you – after several hours of night driving, this was exactly what we needed.
After a good night’s sleep, we were then treated to a knockout all-​you-​can-​eat continental buffet with fruit, bagels, toast, muffins, mini egg omlettes, bacon, waffles, coffee, OJ, etc. etc. etc. I could have done without the Cheez Whiz sprayed into the omlettes, but it was easily scraped out. We ate until we were full and probably saved $ 30 going out to breakfast across the street.
Overall, great room, food, and service. If you’re looking for a good, inexpensive motel room in Tucson, and maybe even a good breakfast too, this is it.

Very impressed! Was able to call and secure a room en route from san antonio. Was worried but entering room I was so surprised how nice room was for 50bucks. Micro, fridge, modern furnite. room was like new. worlds most comfortable bed and nice sheets and pillows. Bathroom was nice too. Staff is very nice too. Free breakfast is good too. outside could use some maintenince. Leaves in pool. Ground needs some cleaning. neon flamingo sign needs repair. Thanks for a nice stay!!! they do need to get rid of the homeless guy and comes around asking for change. hes harmless, people at front desk need to do more than just sit there with their phones and laptops doing nothing.

We stayed here during Memorial weekend and had a bad experience.
First, they gave us a room that was already occupied. Then, the second room had no free WIFI access. We picked up the phone to ask about the internet access and heard no dial tone. The telephone was broken and they never bothered to fix it. We ended up using our cellphone to call the front desk.
When we checked out, they overcharged us. We didn’t leave until we got our bill sorted out which took hours since the Manager was offsite. Jessica, the front desk attendant, was not helpful at all. She gave us the wrong room, tried to make an excuse about broken telephone and was reluctant to put the Manager on the phone.
The breakfast was ok. The room was clean (1 star) but I was paranoid that someone would walk in to our room. The outside of the hotel looked shady. It was more like a motel than a hotel. We won’t go back here again.

We found this place because of Unilocal reviews and reserved a room, also using the Unilocal coupon. Even without the coupon (and the room only costing $ 35/​night), we would stay here again.
This is what we liked:
— Clean, basic, comfortable room with a fridge
— Cool Ikea décor that complimented the 60s feel in the lobby & the breakfast area
— Decent complimentary breakfast
— Pool + Jacuzzi that unfortunately we were too late to check out
— Friendly service
— Free wifi
— Inexpensive
There wasn’t any real downside, except not knowing much about the area we were staying in (ie how safe was it?). It seemed reasonable and quiet though. In fact, when we went to sleep I heard a little noise and was worried that folks in the room above us (we were on the ground floor) would be loud just because they were walking around. However, that quickly quieted down and the place was positively peaceful for the rest of the night.

This is a good place, very clean and comfortable for a low price motel. I was very happy with the size of the room and quality of the bed, chairs, desk, etc. The place looks run-​down from the street, but don’t let it make you nervous because it is clean, quiet, and friendly. The desk attendant was helpful and professional and made it simple and easy to redeem my special offer codes.
That said, nothing in the room was functional. There has been no hot water 90% of the time (no hot or warm, just cold), and the microwave, fridge, and TV were all barely working and required a lot of hassle to fidget with to make them work at all.
But for the price and quality of the space, it is not a deal breaker for me. I will stay at this motel again if I can find a similar discounted offer.

The place itself looks like hell on the outside. Don’t let that fool you, inside the rooms are recently redone. Small but nice and cheap.

Im a fan because this cheesy motel had everything i needed for a good nights rest. This includes a good comfy bed and dark curtains.
I love the retro décor in the lobby. The staff was great, breakfast is free and they allowed me to use the computer to check my email.
The outside may look cheesy but the bed was super comfy, flat screen TV, late night food service from an outside source (up to 11PM on weekends.) Clean.
Breakfast is continental but if you are picky Im sure you can find something along the blvd.
It sits right across the street from a community college so I was able to go jogging. When the front desk manager heard that I went running across the street he went out of his way to recommend a place for me to go to.
Parking, pool, clean, great staff, breakfast, internet, and so overall 4 stars because all front desk personnel was great and helpful. Id definitely return here again.
Also, I thought it was reasonably priced for 2 full size beds last minute for 60buckaroos.
