Owner Tom Black has loved growing plants since childhood. He has turned that love into a thriving business.

Plants of Distinction is a full-​service landscape design firm offering design, installation, and remodeling of existing landscapes. A licensed contractor, Tom has been providing award-​winning landscape designs and installations since 1991.

Few others can match his creativity and technical skills. Tom’s landscapes – including that of his own home – have been featured in many upscale publications including Tucson Lifestyle and Phoenix Home and Gardens; clients’ gardens are frequently featured on home and garden tours.

As professional landscape designer, Tom uses solid communication and seamless project management to ensure customer satisfaction. He takes pride in creating sustainable landscapes and outdoor living spaces that are simple, elegant, and timeless, with a contemporary aesthetic.
