We had used Mr. Electric to help us install an extra circuit for a spa. We had collected several bids and felt that theirs was the most reasonable. Wayne did a great job with the install and even came out again to work with the spa service tech to make sure everything was working right. Thanks Wayne!

Wow! My faith has been renewed. This company sent Mark (a really knowledgeable and personable professional, certified and bonded… and funny) out to fix a problem that knocked out my air conditioner over the weekend… ugh, it was hell! He came out this morning at 7 am and fixed it. Can’t say enough about the great service I received after a few bumps of miscommunication. They did the right thing and I am basking in cool air again.

I had three light/​fan combos that weren’t working correctly and an outside fixture that was a non functional switch and 1 plug outlet. The covers didn’t work and there was water in the fixture. Tommy Towell came out and explained options. I decided to go with remotes on the light/​fan units. He came again the next day and did the work. He was very prompt, very polite, and did a terrific job. Finally we can eat without having air blowing on our food but with a light on! I was very pleased with the job he did.

I was very happy with Mr. Electric. Wayne, in particular, was terrific. He had to fix electrical issues in pool wiring and entertainment center wiring that other electricians fouled up. Look, these guys have a different pricing model. Their estimate is probably designed such that simple issues like installing a GFI is very profitable, but in my case, a complex problem, I think they were quite reasonable. In the end, I believe the quality of their work was outstanding, which is ultimately what mattered to me.

This company is a rip off!!! I totaly got taken! I lost power on two outlets. After they were already at my house, they said $ 220 diagnostic and 9 times out of 10 that is included in the price of whatever needed to be fixed. It didn’t seem like anything major, so i trusted the guy that told me this. Nope, all they did is replace a gfi…$ 300 later. Thank goodness for Unilocal,i feel better now because i feel like i paid for a lesson that i can share with others so that they lose future business from this post. Since when does someone charge $ 300 for 30 min worth of work. Oh, and they got the days mixed up on coming out, had to reschedule!

Highest prices I have ever heard of. They wanted $ 850 for a $ 400 job and twice when I have said no they come back with «I’ll try to write it up as something else for cheaper but I could get fired for that so don’t say anything». One electrician said he would do it after hours because he knows the company charges too much. I will never bother with them again.

Their idea of pricing is not reasonable. I was quoted $ 516.47 to check out our electrical problem. And that was just to diagnose, not repair! I thanked the gentleman for coming, who told me he only does 2 – 3 calls a day. No wonder, at those prices! I found another electrician to come out, same day, who charged me $ 80 including the repair!

Having lost some juice in part of the house and unable to fix, we called Mr Electric. This is a franchise operation with a different fee structure. When we asked about costs on the phone, we were under the impression that there is no fee to show up (true) and no fee to diagnose (not really true). They charge by how ‘items’ are opened, whether it be a fuse box or a light switch. So the technician will listen to your problem for free, but nothing beyond that. I believe the cost is $ 188 for the first four openings. The technician had a heck of time diagnosing our problems but fortunately the cost ended up being $ 188. As for the fix, we decided to do it ourselves otherwise the cost where going to go up real fast.
The scheduler was real friendly and gave us a an appt time of 11 – 2. At 11:30, she said the tech was running late and is expected to be there at 1 pm. We were very appreciative of this level of communication. He showed up at 2:10 and was here for about 2 hours.
