Hungry and desperate on E. Grant! Thank you, Molcas, for being open earlier than anyone else for dinner. Your asada torta(toasted bun! The mark of civilization.) with avocado slices was delish, and your strange«burro»(strange to San Francisco eyes, anyway) hit the spot. And we adore your condiments bar, especially your roasted whole jalapenos, your red onion slices, and your runny, Oaxacan-style guac. Thank you for the dinner save!

I was craving a Sonoran dog, so I stopped in the other day for a quick meal. I ordered three items: 1– Sonoran dog with everything. I received my to go order, started to drive off, then checked my order because the bag felt light. I was correct, they missed my dog. So I waited around a bit longer for them go make one. The good news is that if you are craving a dog in this area, you are in luck because the three best spots are nearby. The bad news is, this is not one of the locations(el guero canelo, bk tacos, aqui con nene). The bun was soggy and about an inch and a half smaller than the dog. Not worth the wait. 2– Sopes, with zero flavor. 3– Adobada burro with mixed ingredients($ 1 extra). Size was small, the meat was very fatty/chewy, and the mixed ingredients weren’t added. Extremely disappointed because I like supporting the little guys, but this place is nothing special.

Allow us to wax poetically about Molcas for a moment… The perfect Sonoran hot dog resides here, without a doubt. Buns like heaven, the perfect amount of beans, delicious crema, and top quality bacon wrapped dogs. Thank you, Molcas, for creating quality food from a truck!

Oh how I needed street food and Molca’s delivered what exactly I needed. The hubby and I drove there last night and we ordered 3 carne tacos, 1 sonoran dog, and 1 chimi. We originally ordered chilaquiles but they were out so we opted for the chimi. We also got 2 coca colas and our grand total was $ 14.75. We split everything and my favorite by far was the chimi. The shredded beef inside was delicious! The sonoran dog was okay but wasn’t the worse. I think it was decent. The service is a little slow however at 10:30 at night I can’t complain. Yum, yum!

The service at Molcas is horrible. Last time I placed an order i arrived twenty minutes after i placed the order and my order still had not been made. I waited 55 minutes and i never got what i ordered even after telling the lady that my food still had not been given to me. Never going back, i feel like their customer service has declined a lot since i first began going to eat there. BK’s, and Guero Canelo definitely have better customer service than this.

Great food, horrible service. The asshole making the hot dogs clearly hates his job and loves to give people shitty looks when they hand him their order slips. He was nice enough to put four people ahead of me even after I had waited 55 minutes and had phoned in the order in advance. Didn’t know it was my goddamn fault he’s stuck making hot dogs. Try to kiss some ass while you’re there, maybe you’ll get on their good side and your service will be better.

Molcas serves fairly good tacos. They are responsible for the best tripitas I’ve tasted – light, not too chewy, and totally delicious. Their adobada and birria have both proven a little dry but, in both cases, the flavor was excellent. One cabeza experience was delicious, the other was merely okay. Their chicken is chicken… nothing to crow about, but better than the alternative. Their salsa bar is totally serviceable. In the world of aguas frescas, you don’t need to try their horchata. Their hot dogs have earned praise from fellow diners, but I’m going to wait for empirical evidence before casting judgment. Prices are okay: $ 1.50 for chicken and asada tacos, $ 1.75 for everything else. Given the taco alternatives in the area, Molcas destroys the competition. But if you have time to trek further south, go for it.

I hate to be the downer here, but I’m just not particularly impressed with Molcas, especially when I consider how many other awesome food cart options there are to choose from in Tucson. It’s not that the food is awful or anything, but it’s not particularly good either, and the prices are relatively high compared to other places that do a better job. The most notable shortcoming on the menu surrounds the«bistec» that appears on the stand’s signature quesadilla and torta(among other things, I imagine). If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s as if they took a thick cut of roast beef and grilled it – the result is a relatively flavorless and tough«steak» that leaves me scratching my head and wishing I’d ordered something else. It’s not gross or even unpleasant, but it’s just an ill-advised menu choice that really holds back the offerings that feature it – the offerings which, unfortunately, are the flagships of the stand. In the Quesadilla Molcas, this sliced beef comes wrapped in a really delicious tortilla with tons of melted oaxaca, sliced tomato, avocado, and maybe some other stuff I can’t remember at the moment. The overall effect is actually reasonably good — particularly when doused with hot sauce — but mostly that’s because it’s nearly impossible to totally screw up a food containing tortilla, cheese, tomato, and avocado which is doused in hot sauce. In the Torta Molcas, the beef is paired with some grilled, sliced ham and a host of toppings, with similar effect — it’s not bad, but mostly because the ingredients involved can’t really be bad(here again the ham is like a grilled cold-cut). As above, the problem is that it’s not very flavorful, particularly if a generous helping of hot sauce is not applied, and the meat is rather tough. At over $ 5 apiece, neither of these offerings is cheap, and in my opinion neither of them warrants the expenditure. I’ve tried a few other things on the menu, but ultimately wasn’t particularly impressed with them either(the sopes look really cool, though the one I got didn’t have a lot of flavor). At the end of the day, I’d say your best bet is to go to another stand. This one won’t make you sick or give you inedible food; it’s just that it’s not very good. Sorry, Molcas!

This is the tastiest hot dog stand in town. I prefer it to even BK’s or Guero Canelo. And the deals are outstanding. Tuesday is two for one tostadas. Wednesday is 2 for 1 hotdogs. Thursday is half price tortas. To get a torta for less than $ 3? Two hot dogs for less than $ 3??? that is absolutely amazing. The tortas are fantastic. Get the carne asada torta with everything on it. Get the hot dog with everything on it. The food is amazing. My mouth is literally watering writing this. I’ve also tried caramelos and quesadillas both which also are tasty. My favorite spot to grab a quick bite!

It’s hard to miss Molcas while driving down Grant Rd. at night. There are bright neon yellow lights that illuminate a covered, outdoor seating area in front of the stationary truck. Unfortunately, these yellow lights do not give off heat if you were to eat on site on a nearly freezing December night. I ordered the quesadilla molcas, which came out to $ 5.30. It came with steak, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and avocado. The quesadilla was the perfect amount of food for me although I had expected it to be bigger due to the price. The meat was good but not amazing. My friend had the 3 carne asada tacos, which he really enjoyed. The condiments were not that great. They had salsa verde and a spicy salsa. The spicy salsa was not spicy. The jalapeño and carrots were also not that spicy. They had some of the usual condiments but did not have cilantro, onions and radishes. We ate there at 8 pm, so maybe they had run out, but this is not confirmed. While eating there, some people after us ordered hot dogs. They have a special stand next to the condiment stand especially for hot dogs. I didn’t try the hot dogs, but the lady making them was definitely loading up condiments on the hot dogs for the customers. The food was good, but the food and pricing were nothing spectacular. The service was very friendly and no frills, which I appreciate. There was no line at 8 pm, but there was a steady stream of customers while we were there.
