Pantano River park can be entered from either side of Golf Links and Pantano Parkway. There are parking lots on both sides of the road. If you are interested in walking or running the bike path you can park in either lot. If you want to enjoy the playground and ballparks park on the south side of the road. From the south, the park is entered on the small road between the gas station and the bridge. There is a statue of a bunny sitting on a baseball bat. It marks the entrance. Yesterday I was interested in walking the bike path. I parked on the north side in the convenient parking lot north of the bridge. I headed south. I like how this path has the wild wash on one side and the planted garden on the park side. I saw a lot of wildlife in my hour long stroll. I saw quail and baby quail, a hawk hunting, and a ground squirrel. At 8:45am it was just starting to get hot for the day. I am sure there is even more wildlife activity at dawn and dusk. The landscaped plant life along the path was a nice addition providing some nice flowers. I stopped to take a few pictures. I walked to the«end» of the path and turned around. Along the way I saw just few people, it was far from crowded. There was a tiny of bit horse manure on the path but it was easy to avoid. However, there was a sewage/standing water smell that was a bit strong at some points along the path. This could be seasonal. On the way back to the parking lot the views of the Catalinas are panoramic. The wash is wide here and I didn’t feel closed in by the town. The main roads are far enough away to be forgotten. Overall this was a nice place to walk and offered a lot to see in a short distance. I will repeat this stroll. It is a great place to see plants, wildlife, and wide views of the mountains without leaving town.

Nice park with a sizable parking lot… It has a nice playscape and covered picnic area. I came to bike the Rialto River Trail, which is nice and wide. Many bikers do not follow proper passing etiquette though, so be careful! I rode six miles and it was a good workout. There were some hills that had me a bit red in the face, sad but true. Along the river trail you will see hummingbirds, lizards and quail, which made it even more fantastic. You will not see water though… the river is dry, dry-like the desert. Speaking of which, bring water. You will pass bathrooms along the 12 mile(24 mile round trip) trail. I had a hard time following the trail, it must take a jog or something… what can I say, clearly, I am new to this.
