Metropolis The Salon

Barb squeezed me in and rescued my tresses. I haven’t been able to get color to hold in my hair but Barb did! After a week it still looks fabulous and she coached me on how frequently (or infrequently) I should really be washing my hair.

Once again Mike cut my hair the way it need to be cut. Awesome!

Very unreliable, they open when they feel like it, close when they feel like it, and answer the phone when they feel like it. They have absolutely NO respect for the customers time or schedule. If you are a busy person and don’t have a lot of time to repeatedly call to try and happen to catch someone there you are wasting your time. If they actually answer the phone you can consider yourself VERY lucky, you’d have better chances playing the lottery. Don’t waste your time. Very frustrating, and ultimately a big waste of time for nothing.

i received a groupon as a gift from my sister-​in-​law for metropolis the salon. this groupon was good towards a shellac mani/​pedi.
i had a very busy schedule and almost forgot about this wonderful groupon. when the expiration date was nearing (about two months before) i called to check availability. i was told that they had very limited availability and was given dates available three weeks out from when i called. this wasn’t working for me, so i decided that i’d call back another time.
when i called back again, the receptionist told me that their nail salon section was currently undergoing renovations and nail service was not available. little did i know that they were moving from their old location to this new location on 4^th avenue. i was told that i could leave my name and number and that they would contact me once their nail services were back up and running.
a couple weeks went by (take in mind that this groupon had an expiration date) and i had not been contacted by anyone at metropolis. i called back once again and asked about their nail services. still, none were available. so i left my name and number AGAIN.
several more weeks went by and i had to call again. at this point, my groupon had expired. once i got someone on the phone (it happened to be the owner/​manager this time), he explained to me that they moved to another location and that they no longer provided nail services AT ALL.
i’m pretty sure that if they knew they were moving around the first time i called, they might have already known that they weren’t going to be offering said services anymore in the future. why couldn’t they just have told me at that point?
so after explaining to me that i would not be able to use my groupon because 1) they didn’t offer the service anymore and 2) my groupon had expired, he offered for the original price of the groupon paid (about $ 40) could be applied to another service, like a hair cut. a hair cut is $ 50 at this place.
i was pretty outraged by all of this. metropolis the salon has no respect for their customers. i would never recommend this place to anyone! even if it were the last salon on earth!

Mona did a fabulous job on my hair! Love the cut, love the color. I look 20 again! Ok maybe not that young but pretty close. Seriously, I’ll never get my hair done by anyone else again. The salon is located in the courtyard belonging to delectables restaurant on fourth Avenue. A really cool thing about that is you can order food or drinks from the restaurant and have it brought into the salon while you’re getting your hair done. This is probably one of the best salon experiences I’ve ever had.
