In addition, body donation contributes to the development of life saving drugs, creation of new, less invasive surgical procedures and the education of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Assurance that your gift of body will be treated with dignity and respect comes from LifeLegacy being the first and only federally approved 501©(3) non-profit research organization that is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks.
Your gift will help the medical community to create a world where people live longer, healthier lives-lives filled with memories, independence, and opportunities.

History
Established in 1997.
The founders of LifeLegacy recognized the need for medical researchers to have viable tissues, organs and anatomical specimens during their work in transplant donation.
Many people willing to donate their bodies to help others with transplanted organs and tissues were simply not qualifying at their time of death. There was a discovered need for donations to further medical science and the qualifications were less stringent than for organ transplant donation. This provided more opportunities for people to donate to help others and have their end of life wishes fulfilled. LifeLegacy Foundation was formed and became the only federally approved, non-profit, accredited program for donating your body to science and maintains that status today.
