Description

Specialties

Welcome to Kalina, a Russian-European Cuisine and Tea House specializing in homemade Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian dishes. The authentic Russian décor, soft music, intimate dining room and unique food will let you relax, have a conversation with your friends and discover the taste of Russia.

At Kalina, we offer traditional dishes like Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Kiev and Ukranian Borscht– made from scratch according to my grandmother’s family recipe. Additionally, many vegetarian and vegan dishes are available all day. We have over 10 flavors of organic tea to enjoy with our special bite size and mini selection High Tea menu, or just have a pot with your meal and dessert– like a mini lemon tartlets or Russian day (vanilla) and night (chocolate) cake with sweet condensed milk butter cream.

We can’t wait to share our Russian food luxuries with you. We invite you, your family and friends to join us and celebrate in authentic Russian style at Kalina!

History

Established in 2012.

Since 2012, this small, family-owned restaurant has been serving delicious Russian cuisine to residents of Tucson and surrounding areas. Owner Natasha Kalina dreamed of opened a Russian Cuisine and Tea House for over 20 years, ever since moving from Russian to Tucson. She loves sharing a part of who she is with her customers, and looks forward to many great years to come!

I was born in Ukraine and lived my early years in Minsk, Belarus. It was the Soviet Union then and witnessed the last days of Communism in Russia, but the food I serve is all about the wonderful people and culture there. We serve the dishes I cooked as a young girl with my mother and both of my grandmothers. In fact, my mother works with me in the kitchen now and she does great quality control. I’m passing the love down to my 10 year old daughter, who helps me in the dining room also.
