My boyfriend and i love this place! the last time we were there we both got burgers with the works and they were absolutely delicious! The burgers were juicy cooked perfectly, tons of toppings! The servers are always efficient, prices are reasonable! We’ve also had the fish and chips which were hot and served in great big portions the fries are always delicious!

Lots of good eats, friendly and kind service and pancakes the size of your head.

I would only recommend this place if you are missing teeth, think the Confederate flag should still be flown and enjoy bland, crappy food. The portions are huge though.

Nice breakfest place. I enjoyed the hillbilly pancakes. I have gone back several times.

Would have been fine if I didn’t have hair in my food, and waitress wasn’t a bitch and if it weren’t so damn loud. Food just OK. Service sucks.

The very best place for breakfast in Tucson bar none!!! Service is always great. Food is the best I have ever had for breakfast food. The portions are gigantic! Have yet to finish a meal there. So it’s like getting a two for one! Highly recommend! The murals on the walls and décor make it Fun also!

Beef barley soup is on the menu, now! Excellent! Pair it with the spinach salad but ask them to go easy on the crumbled bacon.

I’m not sure why this is at 3.5 stars. It’s the best basic breakfast diner I know of in the area. If you’re looking for something a bit different from bland omelettes and hash browns, and a bit of southwestern flavor this is a good bet. It’s mainly straight up diner fare but everything seems homemade and fresh. I like their breakfast burritos. My son loves the biscuits and gravy. Their salsa is always good. Coffee is diner coffee. Meh, I wish they’d get something better.

If you want a down-home hearty, all-American breakfast, this is the place for you. Everything is huge, cooked in butter and delicious. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was so flavorful! They have amazing desserts too. The décor is very casual, American flags, Don’t Tread on Me, etc. We love that but not be everyone’s cup of tea. We weren’t greeted when we came in and after a time the waitress just sort of pointed and said… wherever you want… It’s quite casual in that regard. You will not go home hungry!

Great menu selection, friendly service. I enjoy supporting this small business. The food is consistently good and they offer fresh fruit instead of bread or potatoes and no additional charge. Food is served quickly so it’s a good choice even if you’re in a hurry. The one thing that’s apparent with Jethro’s is the use of cheap/low quality ingredients. Overall it seems ok but some small improvements in quality would be great. Fresher meats would be nice. But the prices are consistent with what you get and I can appreciate that.

Nifty little diner located directly next to Head East smoke shop. This establishment seems to put a lot of the emphasis on the portion of the food. Luckily, it doesn’t compromise the taste or quality of the food, but unluckily it effects the prices on the menu. Truth be told, I noticed Jethro’s years ago simply from driving past it, but I never really heard many folks discussing this place. But why not? I know plenty about New York Pizza and I, umm, know a friend who has shopped at Head East frequently. Yet, Jethro’s was never an option until we purchased a coupon booklet that included deals for this restaurant. So, we figured, «Why not?» The food is actually really good. For a reason that goes beyond any rational human being’s comprehension, my wife just orders the grilled cheese sandwich. I mean, as long as she’s happy, I suppose. To each their own. I have ordered pretty much everything from the breakfast menu. Just this morning, I had them make me a western omelet(egg whites only). To my surprise, they put it together perfectly and it was an deal way to kick-off the morning. I have also eaten virtually everything else they cook for breakfast. They have some of the better pancakes on the east side of Tucson. Without our coupons, however, it’s going to make it tough to justify coming back on a regular basis. The portions are a tad too big for one sitting(for anyone with a nomral appetite) and there are several cheaper options within driving distance that will deliver a similar if not superior product.

This is one of our favorite breakfast places. We go here about once a weekend. The food is typical American diner food, well prepared and usually served promptly. I very much enjoy their country gravy, which is not white glue like so many other places. Only complaint is wish they had egg beaters since they get so many older customers, many of whom are probably watching their cholesterol(like myself). Their pork chop breakfast is highly recommended and my husband really likes the chicken fried chicken breakfast.

There’s something to say about the non-franchise diners that serve great food to the local community, and it’s all said here at Jethro’s Café. First off the décor is something out of a hillbilly home, with paintings of the farm all over, combined with funny signs and one-liners. Seating is diner style, tables and booths, decently cleaned. Their menu contains the basics for breakfast and lunch at a diner, eggs, pancakes, bacon, corn beef hash, burgers, sandwiches, fish, pork chops… They’ve got it all. Portions are also quite big too, so bring your appetite. Had the Chipped Beef, which was basically the toast of choice smothered in country gravy, and some kind of beef, maybe corned beef or pastrami of some sort. Either way it was delicious. Pancakes are about 10 inches in diameter, so order accordingly. Service was prompt, and efficient, and the waitress was very nice. I wish they had more establishments like these in California… but when I’m in Arizona, you can bet i’ll be stopping in!

My boyfriend and I were checking out new(to us) places on the east side since we just recently moved to this side of town. We were looking for a quick Saturday morning breakfast and I wanted to give Jethro’s a try. It was worth it. The service is friendly and reasonably fast. They were busy, but our coffee cups never got completely empty. I had a ham and cheese omlette and added green chile. There was very little green chile, but the omlette was good. The potatoes were awesome with green bell pepper and onion. The toast was toast… but really, what more can you expect? My boyfriend had the chipped beef on toast, AKASOS. It was standard. Nothing special, but it was good enough for him to nearly finish, which is quite a feat since the portions are really big. If you leave hungry, it’s your fault or you have some issues. All in all, it was a good experience. Nothing outstanding, but we will probably be back.

Jethro’s Café is a little out-of-the-way place tucked in next to a head shop on the East side. Despite the dilapidated buildings, the inside is bright, clean, and reasonably updated. The waitresses were friendly, the prices were low, and service was pretty quick. I ordered the«Sloppy Jo» special, with fries, from the whiteboard. Since I had somehow forgotten my cell phone, I had plenty of time to reflect on the décor. They have a strong«redneck» theme, although the art style is quite similar to Happy Rooster or Monkey Burger, and is more of an urban graffiti look than a southern hillbilly style. Hanging signs encourage you to lower your standards, which earned them a 3rd star on this review. And there was a prominently displayed Confederate flag over the register. I never understand the appeal of a flag that represents a failed revolt over the so-called right to oppress the minority. It’s hard to say how long it took the food to arrive, because I’m not accustomed to being without my iPhone, but I don’t think I was at the restaurant longer than 35 minutes in total. My sloppy joe was enormous, but slightly cold in the middle, which seemed strange because it was otherwise all right. The fries were generic, with a light seasoning. The Diet RC Cola tasted off(or different) to me, but that could be my tastebuds after chemo last Friday. The quality of the sloppy joe ingredients was high, and it tasted like the ground beef version of a pulled pork sandwich. If that’s what they were going for, spot on. As a breakfast diner, it’s probably not entirely fair that I wrote a review on their lunch menu, but there are a lot of choices around here for breakfast and I don’t particularly expect to come back. Solid 3-star experience.

my favorite breakfast joint. The waitstaff are all really friendly and they are ONTOPOFIT! I’ve never had to wait long for my food, it’s always hot, and the order is always right. I just love the service! for food– #7 all the way! Hillbillie pancakes are the best breakfast ever! and substitute toast for one of their substantial, soft, and buttery biscuits — they are incredible! My brother loves the pecan pancakes. and you’ll never go away hungry — the portions are large so there is enough to share and get some bites off of your friends plates so you can try some of their other tasty choices.

This is my first time here. Sitting at a table right now. Had to move out of the booth because the seat was broken. No one welcomed us. Our waitress literally tossed our straws at us. She seemed more interested in her friends that were there and just walked off without saying anything after she took our order. Currently unimpressed. Wish this lady had a name tag and wish she would stop reaching across the table. Food was okay though. Nothing for me to call home about. They also store their ketchup in old milk containers and have it in the cooler up front for everyone to see. Gross.
