KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AND YOURSELF AWAY FROM DR. DAVIS
I am writing this review for my disabled mom who saw Dr. Davis yesterday. She came to me in tears, never having been treated so poorly from a supposed medical professional.
The clinic itself is extremely unorganized. She was the only patient there yet waited over two hours to be seen. When Dr. Davis did come in he had someone else’s file and was suggesting solutions from this other patients file. My mom has memory issues and could have easily taken these faulty dr. orders and ended up worse off than she already is.
After the confusion of the file was cleared up Dr. Davis started addressing her pain issues by telling her if she is not on any pain medications she must not really be in pain. My mom has allergies to almost all medications and CANNOT take most medications. The Dr. then demoralized her by trying to send her to a nutrition center suggesting her weight was the cause of her pain. This after he had not yet looked at one x-​ray, MRI or even read HER chart. When she told him she knew how to eat properly he asked if she was afraid of being seen in public??? Again referring to her weight. My mom is slightly overweight but by no means is this a medical condition nor is she obese.
My mom was horribly upset after her appointment with Dr. Davis. She felt he was condescending, did not take her seriously and was very short tempered and rude. My mom is sweet with an easy-​going personality and never complains about anything nor anyone. For her to speak ill of someone says a lot but for to come to me crying infuriates me. I feel if Dr. Davis cannot work with my mom he cannot work with anyone on a competent level. KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AND YOURSELF AWAY FROM DR. DAVIS.

I’ve been dealing with chronic pain, non-​stop pain after an accident many years ago. My life was transformed overnight. I used to be a work-​a-​holic, type A personality who had career success, financial success and made time to eat healthy and stay super fit.
After my accident, I haven’t been able to work, enjoy life, visit friends or family. I haven’t been able to care for myself physically or financially. The years of chronic pain, and life being ruled by the goal of minimizing pain, have caused loss of function from muscle atrophy. The combination of pain and the loss of strength, have severely reduced my ability to care for myself and do the most basic things around the house.
An existence reduced to living in bed has chipped away at my internal resilience, self-​esteem and hope. The act of leaving the house for anything, including any type of appointment, often requires more energy than I have. The subsequent days result in more pain with an activity level just above zero to get up, use the restroom and return. Before my injury, I didn’t know a life like this could even exist.
My only relationship with pain prior to my injury, was satisfaction. It was pain or soreness from pushing my physical limits with physical fitness and high-​intensity outdoor activities. Discomfort from trekking in the backcountry with a heavy pack and harsh weather conditions, gave me a deep internal satisfaction of being tough, exploring places where few people go, and overcoming obstacles. Pushing my limits physically carried over into my career success where overcoming obstacles, finding solutions and being exceptionally productive and delivering results for co-​workers, supervisors, clients and myself provided a lot of gratification for me in life. I never needed help. I was never in a place of vulnerability. I always came from a place of strength, self-​confidence and forging my path boldly without regard to the self-​imposed limits of others.
Who I used to be seems important in diagnosing, treating and healing my physical pain, my body and my esteem. Individuals who have landed in the pit of pain have already had their self-​respect and self-​dignity stripped from them. When the outside world also treats us with a lack of respect &/​or places the likelihood of the patient being a drug addict over starting on neutral ground by giving the patient the benefit of the doubt about their experience.
Once a person enters the life of living with chronic pain, he experiences a double-​whammy hit to internalized and externalized esteem, sense of value as a person, sense of independence and autonomy and has a host of new psychological experiences that he doesn’t necessarily have the skills, tools or coping mechanisms to deal with.
I’ve consciously come up with different ways to find hope again, to gain a second wind, to try something new, to get up and dust my pants off once again. Most of these «coping mechanisms» are unsustainable, short term, and result in part or full failure. These new experiences add on a stack of unresolved emotional issues. With time, the onion forms layers of unhealthy, negative experiences. The only benefit from this roller coaster to keep trying, is find hope, inspiration or enough value as a person to want to keep on living.
A year ago, my primary care doctor referred me to the Integrative Center for Pain Management.
This place sets great expectations, but it is an EPIC FAIL in terms of execution of patient care.

I was referred to Dr. Davis after an auto accident. After seeing the doctor once, the staff was to call me to set up additional tests. That was December… I have attempted to set up a follow up appointment for my back and am being told that I have to get an MRI that they already have a copy of. Staff is rude, unprofessional and have difficulty in customer service. I definitely do not recommend!

This place is terrible. Both the Doctor and the «psychologist» are trash– and I think both need psychiatric help. I was treated like trash while I was a patient here– and they both leave much to be desired. Dr Davis is creepy and cold– to say the least. The psychologist is out of her mind. I have nothing nice to say about either of them. If you would like to maintain some dignity, I do not suggest going here. And if you’d like to actually get some help for your pain, DEFINITELY don’t. I couldn’t imagine a place to go to that’s worse then this.

I write this with some sadness but feel the need to let others know about the decline in patient services at Integrated Pain Clinic in Tucson. After 6+ years as a patient, my doctor, Beverly Weber left suddenly a week ago. She was fantastic and took great care of me as did Dr. Davis and the procedures team. I am saddened by her leaving however I am disgusted by the way the clinic has chosen to handle her patients. Rather than hiring a replacement, they chose to kick all of her patients out on the street without a lifeline! The voice mail left on my home phone said she had left, you need to find another clinic, call with any questions. Of course I had a few so I called only to be told the same thing by the receptionist because the office manager on duty refused to speak to me. In addition, I have yet to receive the «letter’ advising me of the same thing. As a long term patient I expected to be treated much better than this, especially after weathering a decline in service during the last 2 years through numerous changes in office and assistant staff. I have been treated as if I was a drug addict when questioning the dates on my prescriptions, billed incorrectly numerous times, and forgotten about while in the waiting room, learning after an hour wait that the doctor had left for the day because she didn’t know I was there! tA week afterwards I got a bill for $ 50 as a no show for the appointment! All of this I worked through because Dr. Weber was great however this latest issue is too much. Why is it the patient that has to suffer because a doctor decided to leave? Why didn’t the clinic decide to keep their long term patients and slow down receiving new patients or help new patients find new doctors? Or how about bringing in a replacement for Dr. Weber? Instead they decided to kick out the patients, giving us zero options other than to fend for ourselves. For those that require long term pain management, having a long term doctor-​patient relationship is important because they know your history and understand your case better than anyone else outside of your family. A change like this is devastating in many aspects because of the uncertainty with continuity of care. Kicking patients to the curb because a doctor left is no way to treat patients. The owners should be ashamed of their decision and the way they are handling this. Sadly I can no longer refer others to this clinic and encourage those considering them to find another one to help you.

I have had back trouble for many years and only got spot relief.
After a single visit with Dr. Davis I was pain free. I couldn’t remember what that felt like.
I’m soon taking a vacation to Panama and plan on lots of walking, so I went for a second treatment since it’s been 4 months. Again, pain free and looking forward to my trip.
Go see this man, he is amazing.
