Description

History

Established in 1975.

Started out as a demolition company that was located on Stone. In the 80’s, we moved to Park and Silverlake. In 2007, new owners took over the business. In 2013, we moved to 4726 S. Country Club where we are now located. We still sell everything we started out selling over 30 years ago, and have expanded. Some of the things we sell are doors, windows, lights, flooring, brick, lumber, plumbing items, fencing, furniture, and loads of other things.

I think the 5 stars say it all, «Woohoo! As good as it gets!» I have shopped at Gersons for years now. Their customer service is phenomenal. I have never had a bad experience with any of their employees. They’re always smiling and incredibly friendly. I love everything about Gersons! I love that you can reuse other’s housing materials; it really redefines recycling. Definitely would recommend to anyone, especially because it’s a local business!

Delusional prices! These people used to be my «go-​to» for recycled materials. There is tons of crap, but just that. They want the same price for USED/​SALVAGED/​RECYCLED building materials. NOT WORTH THE DRIVE!

Prices here are delusional. They charge retail prices for used junk. Buy it new with a warranty. You will be spending about the same amount of money.

Went to purchase a hose reeler. Saved $ 10 compared to Home Depot. Found other stuff that could come in handy on future builds. Only negative, we would of looked longer if they had some heating but was too cold.

I am not sure why people would give this place a bad review. It’s awesome! But you really should know it’s not like a Home Depot or even big lots. You really should go with no expectations, but bring any measurements you might have. For doors, windows, floors, etc…
The staff is super friendly and helpful. I must have been asked how I was doing or if I needed help at least 5 times. Pretty cool guys if you ask me.
I’ll be back for sure!

I was very disappointed with Gerson’s. They have a large selection of items and they have a new large space. Everything is well organized but the prices are ridiculous! I can’t believe this place can stay in business with those prices. Maybe people just don’t know any better. I’m giving 2 stars because the employees were nice and accommodating. I will not return.

Wow. There is plenty of stuff. It’s basically Home Depot pricing for USED materials. Don’t waste your time there people. It’s too bad but this place makes it’s money on people who don’t know any better.

What can i say i have bought and sold stuff to Gersons for 20 year. I was in there the other day to help a friend find a pink toilet, the 50’s pink. This is the place to find things that will make your project more unique than just going to the depot. I have many things from here in my on house, it is not an easy thing though sometimes it takes multiple trips digging through thing that are dirty as crap and yes the actual crap sometimes. In the end you can find things to re-​purpose. It however is not like it used to be things are much more picked over because of the design shows and such, but if you are willing to do the work cool things can happen to you too.

Gerson’s is an amazing place for used building materials. They have everything from bathtubs to doors to tile and a bunch of other treasures.
We stopped in for an unconventional reason– to look for rustic items to repurpose for our wedding reception and we hit paydirt! Old shutters, mailboxes, etc.
Some of the materials sit out in the open so they will get weathered, and be prepared to root around, but that’s my favorite part. There’s also a separate yard for wrought iron stuff and other metalwork.
New material is coming in all the time so every trip to Gerson’s is different! The staff is helpful and friendly as well.

they are a bit pricey [but good luck finding the price] considering that everything is used & almost always requires some sort of sprucing up…
the habistore has wayyy better pricing & about the same selection of household materials.
what they do have is a great selection of bricks & outdoor materials but again, good luck finding a price.

Looking for a new door? A door to replace after a night of partying? And don’t want to pay mega bucks! Well this is the place for you! We went because it was under the heading lighting fixtures, but It wasn’t really what we expected. You want a toilet seat, top or new toilet well then you can Mix and Match the colors! Yes this place is for the major do it yourself kind of person, you can rummage through a lot of stuff!
