Geeks 2 You

A friend recommended Geeks-​2-​You, so I called but got their answering service which stated that they were not available but would get back to me «immediately», which never happened after 5 attempts. I checked their website and there it was stated that they were open from 9:00Am-9:PM. Still no response. My suggestion is that the word «immediately» should be deleted from their answering service to «as soon as possible» and the open hours changed, if they are not going to be available. My review is not so much a complaint as it is a suggestion of good business practices. I will be calling them again when necessary. Jim

Geeks to you set up a home office computer with three screens for me. Now I am more efficient working from home than I am at the office! If you want to work smarter using technology and not harder you must give these guys a call!

For the past few days my mouse was «auto scrolling» when on the internet. I HATED it, but could not fix it no matter how many YouTube videos I watched. It rendered my computer useless!
Out of desperation, I contacted Marc at 8:00 pm. He dialed into my computer remotely and within 5 minutes found, and fixed the problem. I am embarrassed to say I had multiple wireless devices on in the same room. They were conflicting with each other. How Marc found it, I will never know, but I am glad he did. I could not be happier. He is amazing!

Here’s my not so nice experience with geeks 2 you. I called them last week since the part connects my laptop screen to its keyboard was broken. The guy Michael could not make it to our first appointment but that’s OK, people can be late. When we could finally meet, he got the model number of my laptop and said he’d contact me regarding how much that piece would cost. He called me like 2 days later and said the piece would cost 200 $ + 80 $ labor fee. For a 750 $ computer, that was way too much. Then, he suggested to glue the pieces together instead, and it would be done in an hour, so it would cost me 80 $ only. I said sure, why not. 4 days later, he told me there was no way they could glue the pieces back together and they could either bring it back the way it was or order the 200 $ piece. I asked him to bring the laptop back. When he did, I learned that he’s going to charge me with 50 $ for diagnosis! The main problem here is that he did not tell me in advance even if they could not fix it, they were going to charge me the base fee or something. He did not even mention that there was a possibility that they may not be able to fix it, he sounded so sure. I find that company policy neither reasonable nor ethical. I signed up for an 80 $ repair, instead I paid 50 $ for nothing. Oh I’m sorry, my computer was diagnosed with broken connector.

appreciate this business! came out on a Friday and was able to diagnose and fix my machine within the hour and even explain what was wrong with it. will use them for all my computer needs as they don’t need to take the computer in most circumstances. They are reasonably priced and beat geek squad ($ 130) walk in the door fee. they are only $ 49.

My computer had slowed to a crawl and often when I tried to access a website, the first response was site not found. It was taking forever to do anything. For about a week I tried to grin and bear it, but finally, unable to get work done, I checked around on Unilocal,looked at various computer businesses and finally decided to try Geeks2You. All I can say is Wow! The person answering the phone was courteous, sympathetic, and efficient. We scheduled the tech to come out on a Sunday — which was impressive that they offered weekend service. John was great — diagnosed the problem quickly. Turned out I needed a new modem/​router combo. He patiently answered all my questions on this and other computer issues I was having, and did it all within an hour. I ordered a new modem/​router from my internet carrier. Once it arrived, John came out, installed the new router for a minimal fee, and then when my printer wasn’t working due to the new equipment, he came back out and fixed it for no charge! Overall, the price couldn’t be beat and my computer is really fast now and I didn’t have to unplug everything and lug it in somewhere. Seriously, this company was like magic! I’ll use them again for all my computer issues. Highly recommended!

What a great experience it was working with these guys.
I had a computer issue and from the very beginning, my experience with this company was good.
The person over the phone was polite, courteous, and had me set up with an appt. in no time.
The person who came to my house was nice and helpful. I love that they come to your home, and the hourly rate is pretty reasonable.
They helped me with what I needed help with. My computer is still not working well 100% but it’s better than it was, which I appreciate.

I posted a request for service last night, assuming they would get back to me first thing this morning. It’s now after 1pm and I’m gonna have to use a more responsive service. Not impressed.

About every 2+ years my laptop likes to dance the provocative Slow Samba of Death, throwing out little bits of information here and there with ever increasing lag times inbetween till I’m offering up my firstborn to my computer in exchange for seeing all the useless junk mail in my Hotmail inbox. But my computer, like my first grade teacher, Sister Mary of the I’ll-fix-you-with-a-straight-ruler Order of the Benedictine Nuns, takes no prisoners, which is how I found Geeks after a frantic Unilocal search.
Theresa sensed the desperation and cluelessness in my voice and was able to take a look at my computer same day, if I dropped it off at her place. And though I did worry about leaving my computer with a complete stranger who dealt with weirdos like me for a living (I had the option of staying with the computer and breathing down Theresa’s back while she sifted through my bank information, Star Wars memorabilia, sensitive work spreadsheets, and videos and pictures taken of me after my fifth margarita the time I thought I was an underwear model), I needn’t have worried as she was very professional. Even though she had my computer for at least 3 – 4 hours I was charged for less than 2 hours of labor.
Besides cleaning up my computer of viruses and malware — I had over 275 viruses previously the day before — she’d also cleaned up my registry, updated all of my drviers, did a general diagnostic and discovered that my SATA hard drive is getting towards the end of its life cycle and that my computer’s fan was constantly going off (but my computer was still unbearably hot). If I’d wanted to continue using the computer, she suggested I replace the fan and purchase a SSD on Amazon (and even showed me a recommended brand and size for what I needed to do) — but the kicker was that it would take then at least 1 day for installing the new hard drive. This frightened me more than a die-​hard addict being told to go cold turkey for I was on my damn computer everyday for at least 10 – 12 hours.
After returning home with the computer I’d noticed it running much more smoothly and faster than before. However, it continued to have issues in connecting wirelessly to our modem, and was still dropping the connection and sometimes taking longer to get to a website — though much less frequently than before.
Thinking that it might be an issue with our Wifi set up at home, I called for someone to come out to the house and diagnose whether there was some interference that was causing the problem. This time, Adam made came over and lo and behold, my computer decided to work perfectly for him. This condition is no doubt known to all of us computer owners at one time or another, and the main reason why our relationships with our computers are more self-​destructive and expensive than any other co-​dependent, co-​enabling, and convoluted relationship we might ever find ourselves in with a human being. After tweaking some internet protocol settings and performing more diagnostics, Adam couldn’t really find any problems with the Wifi connection — the connection didn’t drop once the entire hour he was there — but I’d already made up my mind to ditch this @#*$&# computer and get a new one, since I was sick and tired of playing games with my computer — games which didn’t involve Scrabble or Words with Friends.
Though my computer problems weren’t really *solved*, I wouldn’t hesitate calling Geeks again. They were professional and knowledgeable, and at $ 49/​hour the prices can’t be beat. And in an industry where unsuspecting computer users can be easily ripped off by computer techs who charge hours for solving easy computer fixes which might take them 15 minutes or less — Geeks is pretty honest about time charged and in helping their customers get the most value for their money.

So pleased with service, price, quality… kindness and value! Seriously these are the best geeks in town!

I’m posting this review on my desktop for Geeks 2 You giving them a high five! Why? Because I can :-) I could not have done that had they not sent the super nice guy out this morning to check it out. It had been progressively running slower, and slower, and… Then I somehow reached the blue screen of death! Yikes!!! He was here for an hour, zipped through all kinds of screens I’ve never seen before and VOILA! Here is my review to prove it. Thanks so much Geeks 2 You! My computer is back to it’s fast running, no freeze up self again. Happy surfing to me :-)

Had a lot of malware on my PC that was bringing everything to a crawl and causing it to stall. John came out and within 1 hour had it running great. The ad says $ 49.00 per hour, but I was fully expecting some scam to kick the price up. There was none. Everyone is entitled to be wrong once in their life. I’m happy to say I’ve reached my quota. I would happily recommend them to friends and family.

My husband’s computer starting having problems after we moved in April and hasn’t been the same since. He struggled with it as long as he could and finally decided to call for help. He called another company, left a message (3 days ago now) and never did get a return call… apparently they didn’t need our business. So, he hopped on Unilocal and found Geeks2You!!! Amazing! The reviews are true, this company rocks! Our technician was Jason, a young, bright, personable computer wiz who showed up on time and fixed the problems very quickly. Since we were paying for the hour I had him go over my computer just to take a look and found that mine was just fine.
Did I mention the price? $ 49.00!!! We would gladly have paid them more, but this is their fee! These guys rock!!! I will tell everyone I know to call Geeks2You.

Had severe malware problem. Matt, the tech, was efficient, polite and found the problem quickly. My computer is now as good as new.

I had an excellent experience with Geeks 2 You (G2Y).
Like other satisfied reviewers, I live elsewhere but travel to Tucson several times a year to visit my Mom. Our extended family is scattered literally from coast-​to-​coast. Establishing working email and other tech features on her computer is central to helping family members and Mom stay in touch with each other. On this visit, I ran into some problems setting up email and remote desktop software on her new Mac. After spending the better part of 3 days on my own, I called G2Y based on Unilocal’s reviews. Jason, from G2Y, came out the next morning. I was not disappointed.
When I had read Unilocal’s reviews, I also read the available filtered reviews (dated 2011 and 2012) and would like to comment. Three of the five filtered reviews include comments about G2Y’s charges. My experience: when I called G2Y yesterday, I was told up-​front, $ 49/​hr with a 1-​hour minimum. And that is what I was billed.
What did I get? On the surface, I certainly got a rapid, step-​by-​step analysis of each of the critical steps (user IDs, passwords, SMTP addresses, and other essential software integration data) until finding the errors, erasing then correcting errors, solving the problems then walking me through the process to insure functionality. They saved me a great deal of time, which is limited for me on this visit. And more.
Quality and integrity… for $ 49. The price of dinner for two or so, depending of course. I thought $ 49 was an excellent value for the time saved and the results achieved. The technician, Jason, worked quickly and efficiently. He told me that the company was small, and had been growing for about 7 years. I thought the service was great, but from what I saw it was more than an honest hour’s work. They saved me days — and the job was done without delays, no hemming or hawing. Done with just the sort of integrity you’d hope for by a small business in your community. I was happy to add a tip to the bill and anticipate that if Mom’s computer needs technical assistance in the future, she’ll be in good hands with this company, Geeks 2 You, a class act.

I have some rather computer illiterate relatives that live in Tucson. They usually ask me to help them with their computer problems but trying to fix issues over the phone is difficult for everyone. Recently they needed some help and their friend told them to just buy a mac. I am not a mac fan and felt they would be better served just getting some local help. I looked up computer repair services on Unilocal and Geeks 2 you sounded good.
My relatives loved the service the received from «Lucas?». I did not personally work with the representative from geeks 2 you so if I misrepresent anything I apologize. The said the technician that was sent out was polite, knowledgeable, patient, and extremely efficient. They had some minor issues to be resolved and could have easily been up-​sold but weren’t. Geeks 2 You provided a great service at a fair price. However, my extremely technophobic relatives had a great experience with geeks 2 you. Unless I find their systems riddled with malware the next time I see them (which I doubt) I can fully recommend their services to anyone.

I moved to Tucson just one month ago, so I did not have a computer guru in town and worried about choosing someone incompetent. After reading the Unilocal reviews, though, I decided to try Geeks 2 You.
I didn’t need to worry. Lucas was here the next morning. He quickly diagnosed my problem, went to get the necessary part, and had my computer running again by mid-​afternoon.
The diagnosis and service (Lucas also cleaned out the innards of the PC) were excellent and the price was undoubtedly one of the lowest in town ($ 103 for everything).
I will certainly call this company the next time I have a problem.

Just moved from CA — the only one I could call there was the godawful Geek Squad from Best Buy — I’d rather be drawn & quartered then have ANYTHING to do w/​Best Buy :(But I digress. I’ve used Geeks 2 You twice & I love them to death :) They chg ½ what the Geek Squad does. I found Geeks 2 You in the yellow pgs — I don’t know a soul here.
p. s. It’s good to know Best Buy is just as inept here as in CA.
