My favorite Frys store. I’ve been shopping here for 20 years when it was Smittys then Smiths and now frys. All the people are so friendly and helpful in this store. The deli is my favorite place! I love boars head especially being from the east coast. Everyone in the deli — Linda, Brian, Vicky, Chelsea are awesome and I look forward to seeing them each time I’m there!

COMPLIMENTS&SHOPPINGTIPSFORTHISFRY’S: I’ve lived in this area of Oro Valley longer than Fry’s existed here(I’m nearly an O.V. original). I remember when the building wore different name brands. Then Fry’s moved in and has become a staple store for many, and has earned the stars I gave it. I find the staff super friendly, and management handles things fairly when one has questions about what was rung up, or questions about a perishable item. I also once entered a contest they featured related to Mexican cooking and actually won something(a fiesta apron), LOL It’s easy parking, and easy to navigate the store. I’ve spoken to numerous management folks there, when I needed help finding items. They were always super accommodating and friendly. I’m guessing that one of my older family members must push them to the max with that person’s shopping needs and occasional returns(such as a packaged product didn’t appeal to the taste buds, which is subjective and not the fault of the store), and still, the Fry’s staff provides the benefit of the doubt; they are patient. We all know how to shop at a grocery store. But here’s «enhanced shopping tips» for Fry’s: 1) USETHEDIGITALCOUPONS, silly ones! A number of stores offer this type of feature. Get an online account and use it. It’s pretty easy and the savings are very substantial. You even get freebies(Fridays). You can select what you want — then you can print out everything you selected and have an instant, easy-to-locate-items shopping list, organized by the computer into the various sections of the store(dairy, deli, bakery, produce, etc.). Staff can help you if you have computer questions on using the digital, online Fry’s account. 2) HEALTHFOODS/PHARMA: This Fry’s carries Udi’s and some gluten-free items, plus other health-foody goodies in various sections of the store. So ask if you don’t see it. They also carry natural health deodorant and toothpaste(such as Tom’s). 3) FORYOUSWEET-TOOTHTYPES: Late at night(time varies and it’s unpredictable), you can find boxed up donuts and assorted related bakery edibles available at a massive one-fee-for-the-box discount. They sometimes sell out fast, so you just have to hit it right. Also, sometimes they have the day-old bakery items out there on sale, including the gluten-free items. You deal-seekers will love finding those discounted racks. 4) THESECRETSNACKCENTER(at least it was secret to me until this year): The bakery area reserves a little corner of their back counter to give shoppers a little treat. They put out pieces of cookies or cake; kind of a goodwill, fun thing. Nice friendly touch, Fry’s. I once got a whole blueberry muffin at night over there(not the usual). My husband, who had been in another section of the store, saw that, grew envious, and dashed back to get his own, ha ha! It’s kind of hidden behind the bakery counter area, so ask, don’t just barge in. 5) FREEFRIDAYDOWNLOADS: on the digital coupons, Fry’s(at least at the time period of this write up) offers regular freebies on most Fridays. Of course that feature could change. YOUMUSTLOADITTOYOURCARD, DIGITALLY.(That means clicking the button, «load to card.») Great way to try various products. It’s an incentive to get you to use those digital coupons and the online shopping. 6) SENIORFIRSTWEDNESDAYS: seniors get 10% off the first Wednesday of each month. I believe Fry’s also provides some coffee/cookies or some snack-y items. My mother just LOVES this and is the most loyal Senior Wednesday shopper! For her, this is an event. 7) GASBENEFITS: OK, not the Bean-o type. I mean they have a gas station and you can earn points to lower the price: 10 cents a gallon discount for every 100 points earned. They do expire. It gets good when you earn HUNDREDS of points. You could reduce your gas costs by more than 50 cents per gallon. You can earn double or even 4X points by following their digital promotions and LOADINGITTOTHECARD – then buying whatever items give you all those points. 8) BE A RESPONSIBLESHOPPER: this Fry’s will not put food that you return back on the shelf. I found that out when I got the wrong orange juice, completely sealed. I didn’t realize! So think twice about returning something that is in perfect shape, just because. I believe it becomes the store’s loss. 9) THECOVETEDCLEARANCESECTION: This Fry’s has a clearance section mixed in one of the aisles. You can sometimes find the most unlikely deals here, from discounts on wine and picture calendars to summer sausage, cereals and children’s items. I like to look for health food goods. I know people enjoy peeking among the shelves, treasure-hunting. I’ve met ‘em. Fry’s has done a great job serving their community. Keep it up, Fry’s!

I’ve been shopping here for years. The staff have always been so helpful. As an example, Frank in the meat department took the time to individually cut 15 to 20 steaks for me. Took a lot of time and effort and I really appreciated what he did. I also like the size of the store, it’s not so big that you get lost. You can get in and out rather quickly.

Only use this store if you are desperate. The management is so very poor, it is hard to understand why they are still there.

Friendly staff and clean store. Found everything I needed. Was disappointed that they do not carry Calistoga mineral water though. The cigarette lighter car charge was pricey at 15 dollars. They usually are about 10 dollars. Fast check out and easy parking lot. Located in nice neighborhood.
