An assortment of NY style pizza by the slice, whole pies, sandwiches, wings, salads as well as our homemade cheesecake all for dine-​in, pickup or bicycle delivery.

A full bar including 8 beers on tap, two giant HDTVs and a mix of music throughout the restaurant including the on the patio.

Late night — cheese or pepperoni slices of pizza through the front window until 3am Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

History

Established in 2010.

We are three friends with an undying commitment to customer service, food qualitiy and value. We opened our pizza kitchen doors in July of 2010 and our Bar in November of that same year. Within two months of our initial opening, our Pizza garnered a 5th place finish at the American Pizza Championship in Orlando, FL. Please stay tuned for news and updates. I show up at 1:10am trying to get a slice of cheese mother fucking pizza and these yahoos want to tell me it’s going to be 15 minutes!!! What kind of business doesn’t make some cheese freaking pizzas to keep business going on a Saturday night?! Yet everyone else in front of me is walking straight out with slices of pizza?! Get your shit together. Please go out of business and let a competent business owner take over the space.

Ordered the Mulberry pizza. It’s ok, nothing special. I think the issue is their flavorless dough. They need to add some salt or something. Perhaps they are using unfiltered tap water? At this point, Empire would be my last choice for downtown pizza. We will probably give it another chance in a year or so.

The food is definitely 4 stars, friends and I have enjoyed it a lot in the past. delivery always takes around an hour. Had an issue with my last online order, but I appreciated that they eventually reached out to fix things and cared. Will give it another shot, and call the order in next time just to be safe.

The pizza itself is inconsistently made. Sometimes it was an awesome pizza but other times it wasnt nearly as good. It is really hard to find and it is a hassle to get to unless you have been there and know your way downtown. It is expensive for pizza its 15 $ for a 16 inch. They are open late. I have never been inside because after a certain hour they only serve you through the window.

Just had a Greek salad, what a great salad! All fresh ingredients and well served. A magnificent price for an over the top salad. They did not skimp on the delicious feta cheese, the greens were crisp and plentiful. Only one tiny drawback was a bit too much red onion but overall, excellent. Just picked out the extra onion. Very happy with my choice.

I ordered a 16 inch half Mulberry St. half Bensonhurst pizza and some hot wings with blue cheese dressing. The toppings were chunky and tasty. They delivered it with Parmesan red peppers and a free chocolate chunk cookie. I see how you are, with your excellent customer service and sweet delivery guy. You sure are awesome. Thank you for the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.

I’ve been a fan of Empire up until now. I tried to place an order tonight and while they told me I could get it, it would be at least a 25 minute wait while I stood in front of empire waiting for my pizza. Why would I wait in a line if I called it in? Thanks empire, you ruined my night.

I’m not a fan of New York style pizza. The one I tried was a little too greasy and salty. However, the atmosphere of this place is very nice. It is dark inside even at midday, making you feel like during off-​work night party time. So, just relax.

Favorite wings in town — sauce just right, spicy buffalo style with a hint of red pepper flake — and legit NY style pizza. Love the bar in the back too, great place to hide away from the heat or cold with a full bar, $ 5 Beam family whiskey drinks, and always something new, crafty and interesting on tap. Perfect for late night eats downtown.

Delicious pizza and phenomenal service. I have had some times with not awesome service, but the above and beyond that I get other times more than makes up for it. It’s pricier than the run of mill pizza places, but it is very worth it.

I want to like this place. I really do. It’s east-​coast, «mom and pop» style pizza, and there aren’t many places where you can get this in Tucson. But unfortunately I’ll have to make plans to enjoy it from now on, ordering a fresh pie ahead of time. Because the past 3 times I’ve been, all I want is a few cheese slices, a drink, and to be in and out in 20 minutes. But every time it takes almost 20 minutes just to get my slices. And each time they come out over-​heated, burning the roof of my mouth.
So honestly I don’t know if they’re heating the slices for 20 minutes. or if they just have one oven, and only so many pizzas/​slices will fit. or maybe it’s just too much trouble to throw a few slices in the oven, and this has to wait for «other orders» to be handled first. Whatever the case, lunch for this type of place should be quick and easy. Unfortunately it just never is.

Down in Tucson, visiting family and they suggested empire pizza. What a mistake on a Saturday night!!! Placed order through grubhub, and almost 2 hours later it arrives. Grubhub estimated delivery at 45 to 60 minutes. At 40 mins. Grubhub shows delivery on the way. At one hour I call the restaurant, girls tells me they are busy, but my delivery just left. Then I hear some guy in background ask if its the sandwich, I tell her no, then guy gets on the the phone ands tells me driver is about to leave now, but has one delivery ahead of mine. 45 minutes later I call back to cancel the order and I get put on hold, while I’m on hold the driver finally shows up! We ordered pizza, salad and soda… They forgot the soda!
The good: the pizza was ok, and they driver did return with a soda in about 10 minutes.
The bad: girl on phone lied about order status, 2hours wait for delivery, and the Greek salad had way too many olives and feta cheese which made it so salty that I threw it away. Can’t cancel a grubhub order, or withdraw the tip if u prepaid it.

Always have a great time here, even on a crowded weekend night! The one thing that would be nice is more seating at the bar area BUT that would take away from the hidden atmosphere that is the bar area.
Great Pizza, Great Bartenders and definately an interesting crowd will keep us coming back time and time again!

Empire, you really hit the spot. When it comes to pizza, you reign supreme. Whether it’s take-​out, delivery, late-​night, or sit-​in, I’ve never been disappointed. Order anything — you can’t go wrong!
Favorite pizza: Chelsea
Favorite sides: Greek salad; Fried Mushrooms w/​ranch dressing *drools*
The one downside is that it takes about an hour for delivery, so plan ahead.

I’ve stopped here with friends several times, mostly because they’re one of the only places on Congress still open after 10 on weekdays and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The pizza is good quality, especially the sauce and toppings. I found the crust to be a little too. sweet almost? but still enjoyable. Even so, Empire is better than most pizza joints I’ve been to in this city, and I appreciate their late hours (probably thanks to the bar).
The prices were also very reasonable, service is always quick, and the staff are friendly. There seems to always be someone flipping around some pizza dough while we’re there, which adds positively to the experience.
Of course there’s also a back room bar that I really haven’t actually had a drink at yet but plan to. It at least looks like the drink prices are good with plenty of space in the bar area. I will be making it a point to stop here for pizza AND a drink next time we’re downtown.

Empire was awesome! The staff was helpful and friendly, and the pizza was top notch. The crust was delicious, and the pizza was the perfect level of greasiness. I had the SOHO pizza with marinara sauce and it was amazing. It also reheats nicely! I also liked their Parmesan cheese because it’s not that gross, yellow, hard stuff; it looked fresh.
I would definitely return if I’m ever in the Tucson area!
