Thank you guys great job ! This is my first time here. I thought they were in the mall they are not ! Great work for a inexpensive price !

I had a leather bag that that had one strap come undone. I brought it in and within two days it was fixed for $ 30. Great turn around time, quality of work, and communication. Best in town.

It was hard to get either staffer to the counter when dropping off, and only slightly better when picking up. They needed a week for heels, and they were not ready when promised. I live and work pretty far from the store, so that was a major disappointment. And he had a hard time finding my shoes when picking them up. Two stars only because they did a decent job, but I’ve since found a superior shop to go to.

The gentlemen here are so sweet! They’re so very nice, they were friendly, and they know what they’re doing! I would come back here in a heartbeat if I need anything fixed in the future.
They set me in absolutely great holiday cheer because of the good service.

This is my go to cobbler. They also do a quality job, very quickly. I had a pair of riding boots that were in dire need of a cleanup… I almost threw them away. However, with one last hope I brought them to El Con Cobbler and they were returned like NEW! I have also had a handful of high heels re-​soled for ~$ 10 each shoe.

I brought in a leather bag to get a strap shortened and a tear stitched up. Because the bag is very high-​quality and I’ve used it for the last ten years, I wanted to make sure it was done right to match the rest of the bag. I’ll have to admit, I was a little wary walking into this place as it seemed pretty divey. But the gentlemen listened to my instructions and told me to come back in a day. They did a terrific job repairing the bag as I directed, and I ended up tipping them over the mere $ 20 they charged me. I’m extremely happy with their work, and I cannot recommend them enough.

These guys are AWESOME! I was stranded with a broken heel and they hooked me up right away, and at a very reasonable rate

All of my shoes, even if they have no leather on them (e.g., suede), are taken here for service and cleaning. One look at the racks up front and you’ll see that these guys can handle items from purses to heels to shoes. They also work on zippers.
The prices are very reasonable and the turnaround time is quick. Make sure you bring cash.

Sadly I have to write a bad review although they were very nice.
I brought in my satin wedding shoes, which had a few finger smudges and needed the bottoms redone. They weren’t able to get the smudges off. In fact they looked even more smudged. They did redo the bottoms but the color did not blend well. They said they would be done the following week but when I showed up they were not ready. I’m kinda disappointed since all the other reviews are great. Maybe satin shoes aren’t their specialty. It’s a good thing my mom is a genius and was able to fix them! Phewww!

El Con Cobber offers first rate service at reasonable prices. I had a pair of heals replaced on a Gucci loafer which added new life to the pair. Most recently I have a pair of Church’s of London Oxford shoes. Considering the price of the shoes, I was somewhat nervous of how they would be handled. The soles needed replaced. My concern with coblers in general is that inexperienced ones can tighten the size of the shoe, making it narrower. I have had this happen before and the shoe is deemed useless after receiving a bill for $ 40.00.

I really hope that they greet each customer with a cobbler joke, because that put me in a really good mood and set the tone for their good service.
Along with the tips on my heeled maroon leather boots, I needed to resole an old, fading pair of black suede boots. Without even asking, they reconditioned and restored the color of the suede; now they look brand new! I paid $ 55 total ($ 15 for the tips, $ 40 for the resoling). This is a fair price considering how much I paid for the boots themselves. I’ll be able to keep wearing them for many years to come.
They also carry low-​priced leather conditioners, creams, polishes, and brushes — all of which are cheaper than what you’ll find on Amazon.
I had a good experience with El Con Cobbler and would recommend them.

Not cheap. I brought my shoes to have my heels repaired (they were worn out on one side) and my soles resticked: 30.00 $ (almost the price of new ones).
(I used to glue my soles in a shoe repair store in Belgium for free!) The price seems a bit expensive to me regarding the work done.
I will update my review if it holds up together, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to.

Update: Unfortunately, the strap has come off again after only a couple of weeks :(

On one of my sandals, a strap came off and I wanted to have it reattached. I dropped the shoe off on a Monday and was told to pick it up on a Wednesday. The man who talked to me said it would be $ 6 to reattach the strap. I was like: wow, that’s pretty cheap. So I asked them to also reattach part of the thin leather coating on the inner surface of the shoe that had come off. It turned out that they didn’t even charge me extra for that second thing. I paid $ 6 total. Amazingly cheap. So far, the strap and leather coating are still firmly attached. I’ll update in a couple months as to whether the strap comes off again or not.

This place is great! I just took two pairs of boots in to be resoled, one of which I wasn’t sure would be able to be saved, & these guys made both boots look brand new! They even polished all of the scuffs. I paid $ 55 TOTAL. I recommend this place to everyone, & I will certainly go back!

When I typed «shoe repair» into Unilocal,two cobblers that were in close vicinity came up. I had two pairs of
that I wanted repaired: one, a well-​worn, well-​loved pair of penny loafers that needed to be resoled and new liners/​inserts, and my daughter’s brand new suede Ugg boots that she managed to get covered in water stains the first time she wore them. I stopped by the place closest to me first, where the man behind the counter looked at the boots and said they were a lost cause, but that I could try removing some of the water stains myself with a vinegar and water solution — but suggested they were otherwise ruined. He told me my loafers weren’t worth repairing, and recommended that I just go purchase a new pair of shoes. I reiterated how much I adored my beloved penny loafers and pointed out that the leather was still in good shape — but he just apologized and repeated that I should toss them and buy a new pair.
I wasn’t quite ready to take my dear old shoes off of life support, so I traveled a little further east on Broadway to El Con Cobblers. I showed the gentleman behind the counter the Ugg boots first, to which he responded «of course» and said that he would weather proof them as well. I then showed him the loafers, and after a bit of inspection, he said «No problem — they will look almost brand new when I’m done.» Hot dog! I would have settled for getting them back into commission, but I was thrilled when he said they would spiff up beautifully. I dropped them off and waiting in anticipation.
They did a pretty good job on the Ugg boots — the staining was almost completely gone, and the leather, which had been stiff from the water damage, was once again pliable. He also did a great job of resoling my shoes and constructing new inserts for the shoe bed. I tried them on to see how they felt — ahhhhh! Felt almost as good as new!
I am knocking off a star, because when I picked them up they had not been cleaned and polished. I was a bit surprised, because considering the work that I’d had done on my shoes, this was definitely the easiest part, and seemed like it should have been a basic part of the service. But seeing as my shoes were now fully functional again, I let this part go — a little saddle soap and shoe polish at home, and they really were just about good as new.
Overall, I would highly recommend El Con, and will certainly return should I need shoe repairs in the future.

On my way into work I notice my pumps need a new heel thingy (haha). So I swing on in. I take them off my feet and they fix then immediately. My Ralph Lauren’s, that I haven’t worn in forever, look and feel fabulous and new! In and out in less than 5 minutes, now that’s service!!! Thank you sooooo much!

I had a broken zipper on my boots. I took them in here, the guy who runs it was super nice. I dropped them off on a Wednesday, picked them on on a Saturday and now they’re good as new.
Could’t be happier.

Brought a pair of high-​heeled boots, wedges and my short-​heeled leather boots here for repairs. I am extremely hard on my shoes and usually bring them to be repaired after they’re well overdue. El Con not only re-​heeled all three pairs but also stitched two small tears in the wedges and waterproofed and shined my leather boots all for $ 40! Less than any one of those pairs cost. My only complaint is that after waterproofing the boots they did the first two shine coats but forgot to polish off the last one leaving a powdery white residue on the boots. This came off easily enough with a cloth after calling to ask how I could remove it and they even offered to reshine them for free.

So I’m not kind to my shoes. And it’s a shame, because men’s shoes don’t come cheap. (How is it that women have it much easier, seems like Dilliards gives away shoes to the ladies) I finally said enough is enough, I need a clean slate and my 5 pairs of dress shoes need a good shine/​polish. I messaged someone I used to work with at ATC and she suggested El Con Custom Cobblers. Sure enough they had one favorable review from Danielle on Unilocal and I knew it was going to be a good experience. And it was! $ 5/​pair, I dropped them off yesterday and picked them up today (24 hours) and all of them came back looking perfect! (Even this brown pair that got caught in the rain a couple of months back. I’m a big big fan of these folks and contemplating buying some shoe shining supplies on my way out, then I just decided, naw, these guys will do it better. Bring a check or cash though!
