worst company i have ever had clean my house!!! never again!

I signed up to be placed on the $ 25 «call if there’s a cancellation» list and received a call yesterday that there was a cancellation today and cleaning was available for 2 hours. As we have guests coming tonight, I decided to book and forgo cleaning the house myself this morning.
This was a mistake. In brief, the only thing noticeably clean from my checklist were the tables in my living room. I indicated clearly on my list that the floors were my absolute top priority, followed by the kitchen, and then the bathroom. None were clean. When I emailed EcoMaids to discuss, I received a phone call back during which the person on the phone (Joe, I think?) defended the cleaning job, telling me that the cleaning lady had cleaned the floors and that she had decided to spend time cleaning the stove though we had said «wipe off» on the checklist, as we had it professionally cleaned two weeks ago.
The person on the phone then had a debate with me about the meaning of the word «applicable.» We had dishes in the sink and our dishwasher had, at most, 10 dishes in it (this is a generous estimate). The checklist reads, as an option, «Gather dishes and glassware from around house (if applicable, load to dishwasher or wash).» Whoever was on the phone informed me that the dishes had not been washed because the cleaning lady was unsure if the dishes in the dishwasher were clean or dirty– thus, this option was not «applicable.» I asked how that could be the assumption when I specifically checked this option off (i.e. Please do the dishes), and what the harm would be in running the dishwasher again with all dishes, and she informed me that this wasn’t how they do things. I really don’t get it. Nothing looks worse when you expect your house to be somewhat clean than seeing the dishes you left in the morning still piled in the sink when this was listed as the #2 priority on your checklist (and #1 wasn’t accomplished).
After an irritating amount of bickering with the woman on the phone, the call ended. I don’t understand how any company could possibly retain business with the way my complaint was handled. I got off the phone feeling more angry and irritated about the whole situation than I had when I called, which is (surely) not the goal of customer service. I’m already telling her the house is not clean. After listening to her defend it while I stand looking at dirt on my floor, should I say, «yeah, you know what, you’re right, it is clean, you totally convinced me?»
In short, I considered giving this company 2 stars, but I was so irritated by the discussion on the phone I went with 1. If it was impossible to achieve everything on the checklist in 2 hours, the company should offer a shorter checklist that specifies exactly what, for your square footage, they can achieve in one, two, or three hours. If you’re doing a cleaning when the person you’re cleaning for isn’t home, there should be a policy where the cleaner can and should call the person if they leave their cell phone– I left mine, and a call about whether or not the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty would have been preferable to the maid assuming they were clean and thus leaving the dishes in the sink. But after 9 terrible reviews for this company over the past 3 years on Unilocal,I’d think they’d already know what they need to do to improve their service. I would not recommend booking unless you enjoy argumentative customer service people and have low standards for cleaning success.
EDIT: After further review, I took the time to go through everything that was on my checklist, and I found a few things I missed in my original post that it looks like were done. The maid took out my trash. The floors are cleaner in some rooms than others. I think she cleaned the window in my kitchen. I was going to amend my star rating, but I’m still fuming about the customer service call. I still wouldn’t recommend this service, but thought I should include this info to better reflect details I didn’t include in my original post.

Just had second visit on a living social deal. After first, asked for other people. Told these were her best and only ones servicing my area. The boy spent an hour and a half cleaning my kitchen counters and stovetop. Never even got to surface clean fronts of kitchen appliances. He was painful to watch… like a snail. Have never seen such low energy person. Would have cancelled second visit except it was paid for. NOT WORTH IT AT ANY PRICE.

Terrible customer service. Poor cleaning job. Completely unprofessional. Do not use this company. If you have the audacity to complain about the sub par results, you will be told you are wrong and that the job was done perfectly. I will tell every client of mine to avoid this company… All friends and family as well. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Like some previous reviewers, I also bought a living social deal. I have a cleaning lady who spends 2 hours to clean my whole house, but I was interested in trying other companies to compare and possibly switch! The technicians arrived, and I told them bathrooms were a priority and that some of the rooms were clean and only needed a vacuum. At the end of the 1.5 hrs, the 2.5 bathrooms were completed and some vacuuming. No dusting, no kitchen, no bedroom, nothing else. I guess I was warned that they wouldn’t finish, but it concerns me as this is a company that charges by the hour.

I had a Living Social coupon for Eco Maids that would give me two cleaning sessions that should last between 2 – 4 hours each for a bargain price. I’m not that interested in using the eco-​friendly products, but good on them for using them!
I needed the place cleaned for a visitor who was coming in town. I asked for an immediate cleaning, and they accommodated me and sent out one person the next day– Joe. He was sloppily dressed when he arrived. I was leery about having one man come to my house to do this job and do it well. I gave him the checklist and told him I wanted my floors and bathrooms concentrated on. I wasn’t as concerned with the rest of the house — but general cleaning would be great, time permitting. It’s not like I have a nasty house. I’m very clean! I had just been very busy over the past few months and just didn’t have a lot of time to clean.
Well, I left the house and let Joe clean. When I came back, he was just standing in my kitchen, leaning on the counter and said he was done. I paid him, noticing several things I didn’t like already. I was trying to be nice, because I hate confrontation. When he left and I did a walk-​through, I saw that NONE of the floors had been vacuumed, swept, mopped or anything. In fact, there was new dirt from his shoes on my carpet. I normally have a no shoes policy on my floors, but since he was cleaning, I figured it would be ok.
The surfaces of my furniture were dusted, but clearly nothing was moved. Not even a magazine! He dusted AROUND a magazine!
The surfaces of appliances were wiped down, but it actually was probably wiped with water only. Nothing looked professionally done and I was very disappointed, The second he left, I re-​cleaned the whole house.
When EcoMaids called to see how I liked the job, I expressed my dislike for the job done, All the lady said to me was, «well, Joe is normally very good. He’s not with us anymore, so there’s nothing that can be done, We’ll be glad to send someone else but your Living Social coupon has expired and you will need to pay $ 89 (I think that was the amt).
I told her forget it and I never wanted to use them again!
This was almost a yr ago — I believe it was in June 2014. I just never sent a review. I decided to do so, because I see nothing but bogus responses to other negative reviews. I wanted to state my concern and show how disappointed I was with my service as well. VERY TERRIBLE cleaning!!! You may as well do it yourself! What house cleaner BRINGS in outside dirt?!! Take off your shoes or wear shoe covers, people!!!

I used this service to get my home done before family came into town. I needed something done professionally and quickly due to my tight schedule. They showed up on time and got everything done very fast and it looked great. They were friendly as well which is always appreciative.

I purchased two Eco-​Maids visit with a Living Social coupon because I needed to show my house to an appraiser and wanted it clean. When I called to schedule, I was told that they were backed up beyond the time I needed the house clean, so I went with a different company for that cleaning. I called again before the holidays and my phone call was not returned at all. When I called after the holidays, the man on the phone was not pleasant or responsive about my concerns, saying at one point that he needed my email «so he could send me a lot of spam.»
The first of my two visits went well. The 2-​person cleaning team listened to what I requested and did as I asked. I told them specifically that I would rather that they get more done at the 80−90% level than less done at the 100%+ level. They were attentive to my checklist, pleasant, and did a pretty good job. The amount of tasks they covered in the cleaning block was very good.
I canceled the day of the second cleaning, because I was extremely sick with the stomach flu. I was informed later on the phone that I had forfeited the second cleaning, but could pay a $ 25 fee to have that restored to me. Nah.
I suggest that this company could have had a regular customer in me, but it was obvious the management did not care, and has no talent for customer service.

I have to agree with the two previous reviews, this place doesn’t really do what they say they do. My house had no furniture in it and they still did a lousy job cleaning. I had to re-​clean the entire house myself. The clean mop-​water turned BLACK immediately when I started cleaning both of the bathrooms and the kitchen. There was dust so thick in some areas that I actually laughed for having paid them. DO NOT hire these people!

I am the wife of the previous reviewer. And, yes, we initially decided not to obtain the free clean. However, after speaking with the owner/​manager Joe in detail, I felt that he was very professional, concerned about our disappointing experience, and had a geniune desire to hold his company and employees to a higher standard. I accepted the «reclean» and the two women that came did a fabulous job. In fact they were working so hard and so long, my husband finally had to tell them they could stop and go home.
I appreciate the job they did and that the company took my complaints seriously and did not ever question the integrity of my complaint.

We got a Groupon for the deep clean. It was a supposed $ 200 cleaning for $ 100. The two girls, were polite and friendly, and they cleaned for just less than 2 hours. They didnt work up a sweat but they did work at a normal pace. So we paid each girl $ 50 an hour for at best an average cleaning. There was nothing deep about it. It was just a surface clean. For instance the ceiling fans hasdnt been dusted, nor had the window ledges, nor had the range hood, nor had …
So if you feel that spending $ 50 and hour for someone to clean your house the way you could do it yourself is good value then Ecomaids is right for you. If however you believe that $ 50 an hour per person is too expensive then I would have to agree with you.
Our neighbor had the exact same experience a couple of months previously. We had hopped her experience was not representative of EcoMaids but unfortunately it is.
I had contacted the owner to express my disappointment and he happened to call back while I was writing this review. He offered to reclean our house. We decided to refuse his offer.
