I’m so glad my CrossFit coach told me about this place!!!
I highly recommend Jarrod and his Tunia skills. My husband went here a couple months back (at their old location) for back pain and felt so much better!
Fast forward to yesterday, I’m been lifting a lot and was experiencing pain in my wrists/​knee. Jarrod made sure to ask what it was that was bothering me and I woke up this morning feeling great!
This new location is clean/​welcoming and he was very professional/​friendly. Jarrod also teaches Chinese Martial Arts classes!

Went in for a shoulder problem I thought was going to plague me for the rest of my life. Jarrod did an amazing job and I am feeling so much better then I did before! He really asks to see what the issue you are having is and gets to the root of the problem. Also say hello to Blanco, his little song bird who is there to greet you when you walk in!

Jarrod really really did a great job on what I thought was going to be a permanent shoulder injury that could possibly need surgery. My husband hurt his shoulder by lifting something heavy. He could not raise his arm above shoulder height and even getting to that level was excruciating. He would have to use his other arm to lift the bad arm up while he was hollering in pain. His pain level is high so to hear him screaming in pain I knew it was bad. Jarrod got us in that evening and worked on my husband. He said he was able to do a lot of work due to his pain tolerance and that it should start getting better. It still felt the same when we left so I was concerned. That night it was still really bad and he was very uncomfortable. In the morning when he got up it was 90% better. We were so shocked. He was moving it pain free, just not quite above his head yet. By later in the day he was 100%! We were so happy and relieved as we were worried this was really going to put a damper on our trip! Thanks Jarrod!!!

Descending Dragon, Jared and staff have been an amazing experience! My first time with accupuncture, and although I was a bit nervous in the beginning, Jared and staff made me feel very comfortable from the very first second. I have had three sessions and have had more improvement with my neck issues than anything else I have tried. It has been chronic pain for 2 – 3 years. I plan to continue my accupuncture treatments!

I love this place! Jarrod, Jamie and Brent have helped me in so many ways — using acupuncture, Tuina bodywork, martial arts, and a feeling of community. They offer high quality, caring, and complete treatments using Chinese medicine and it’s super affordable. I love the model they use, everyone gets what they need in a peaceful and relaxing shared space. I usually get acupuncture first, then they basically have to forklift me off the table to get Tuina bodywork in the other room. By the time I leave, I feel like a brand new person and completely rejuvenated.
If you haven’t tried acupuncture or Tuina, you must try this place. Both can relieve a huge variety of conditions, from pain to insomnia to depression to digestive issues. All 3 practitioners listen and tailor treatments to what you need.
I also highly recommend the 7am Qigong, it is drop-​in Monday thru Friday and a centering way to start the day. Jarrod offers internal martial arts classes almost every evening too, which promote ongoing wellness, mental clarity, and conditioning. He has endless knowledge of martial arts and makes classes fun and challenging.

I learned about Descending Dragon and Thrive Acupuncture from a Groupon, and I am pleased to say that this place is a fantastic find! Jamie provides the acupuncture and Jarrod provides the Tunia (Chinese hands on massage therapy). The treatments are affordable (only $ 30 each) and effective, and last about an hour total (for both the acupuncture and the tunia). I’ve been coming here twice a month for the past month, and I am feeling much healthier and happier since starting these treatments.
Acupuncture is extremely helpful in treating a variety of health issues. If you suffer from any kind of chronic pain, headaches, high blood pressure, allergies, or digestive problems, you could most likely benefit from regular treatments. Descending Dragon also offers martial arts classes, and Jarrod is a highly knowledgeable expert instructor, as well as being committed to traditional Chinese medicine.
If you don’t mind a communal setting for your treatments, try it, and you’ll soon experience the multitude of benefits that acupuncture and Tunia offer. I have not tried the martial arts classes, but I am confident that they are also highly worthwhile. The martial arts classes offered include Open Training, Xingyi Quan, Bagua Zhang, and Taiji Quan. There are reduced rates available for multiple classes.
