Copper Point Schools is a public charter school. We will be enrolling grades 6 – 10 for the upcoming school year, and will grow to 12^th grade. We are a project-​based, service-​oriented school that focuses on real world problems in our curriculum. Copper Point is part of the nationally recognized Expeditionary Learning program of schools.

History

Established in 2014.

Copper Point was founded by Innovative Humanities Education Corporation (IHEC) Innovative Humanities Education Corporation is a non-​profit organization dedicated to developing skills for lifelong learning. Together we bring together over 30 years of experience in education. We are worried about the current state of education, and as such, we aim to incorporate the best practices of the project-​based learning model into the classroom which is proven to create successful, college bound students who make a difference in their community.

Meet the Business Owner

Joseph M.

Business Owner

Joesph McKnight is the principal of Copper Point Schools. Joseph was educated in Phoenix and graduated from the Glendale Unified School District. Joseph has an extensive background in instruction and curriculum development through his experience in the professional business field and public education. He graduated from Arizona State University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a specialty in History in 2003. He has earned his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University and is currently working on his second Master’s Degree in American History. Joseph also has a background in financial advising.
