I was drawn in by the sign — We thought we were going to Chuy’s Mexican Cantina… Oops. But since we were there, I made the mistake of ordering. 7pm on Weds eve, not too busy. Ordered Chico’s tacos and Chicken enchilada dinner. I scooped up some of the bulk-buy chips into the little paper bowl, got some salsa and pico to munch on while waiting for our meal. Salsa was the most bland salsa I’ve ever almost tasted. Absolutely no flavor, no spice… Nothing. Pico was tomatoes, onion and water, meh. Food arrived, chicken enchiladas were at least as good as the elementary school cafeteria but no better. Chico’s tacos have left me wondering if I need to sleep near the toilet. I can’t recommend this place unless you can drink enough beer that you don’t care about the food. I’m sure that Chuy’s and I are both happiest if I never return. Taco Bell is far better anyway.

I always get the tri-tip here and have never been disappointed. Cool place to just relax and hang out with your friends. Laid back, casual place that I always enjoy. This is one of our regular places to eat, so we will definitely be back many times.

This lower posted review is of Rosa’s Mexican Food NOT Chuys. My mistake I will correct s soon as I figure out how to do that. Lastly, Chuys has always been great(try tri-tip). I do not see what people like about this place. Portions were TINY and WAYOVERPRICED. The food was barely average at best. My Burrito with so called«ortega style» was over $ 12.00. AREYOUKIDDINGME. Soft drink(Royal Crown Cola) was $ 3.50 and a Margarita was over $ 7.00 after tax. Maybe in a nice place but Rosa’s? No way. It was a crappy mix served on tiled table tops with FILTHY grout. There are dozens of fine Mexican food restaurants in Tucson that are far better than Rosa’s. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Do yourself a favor and drive one more block East to Mariscos Chihuahua. Wish we had remembered. The Chuy’s wait staff members up front were nice and helpful, but completely inedible… Sadly, we immediately realized the food was horrible. Ordered a half pitcher of margaritas, shrimp tacos, and ¼ chicken plate.. The margaritas tasted like bad, watery lemonade, the shrimp tacos were soggy and had no flavor to them at all. The thigh and leg probably came off a pigeon– they were that small. The chicken was also dry and had no flavor. Everything is supposed to be cooked over a mesquite fire, but I didn’t get any mesquite flavor. The rice was bland and the pinto beans tasted like they came out of a can. Next time I will drive a block down the road to Mariscod were I know the food and drinks are good.

I hadn’t been to a Chuy’s in a few years. The last time I went was to the one on Houghton Road. I didn’t like the food much, and of course, since it’s a walk up order I couldn’t comment much on the service. But I decided to try the Chuy’s on Ina Road with some friends for happy hour. What a difference between the two stores! We had great service at this Chuy’s. Bob, one of the managers, and Brianna(I hope I’m spelling her name right) were both so attentive, helpful, and fun! The staff here jumps in right away to make sure people weren’t waiting in line to order. They come out to your table to clear away anything you’re done with, but they check to see how you’re doing and if you need anything. They chat and laugh with you. And we had not been there before. The food came out of the kitchen piping hot. The chicken quesadilla was a good sized portion, lots of chicken. The chicken dinner plate was fresh, and again, good sized portion. I saw someone order the chicken nachos and that thing was a mountain! It could feed four people! It was covered in bubbly melted cheese. I checked the menu and it was about the same price that you’d pay at the local drive through Mexican places like Los Betos, but so much bigger and so many more ingredients. I really want to thank Bob and Brianna for making it such a great night! Good food, good drinks, fun atmosphere. We’ll be back!

it was ok nothing great for me, I will not be going back the service was ok the waitresses were just ok and nice. the bathrooms sucked, no toilet paper, one toilet was broke, no soap. the salsa was like tomato sauce instead of salsa. The table had all kinds of advertising crap on it. The food came put fast and I though wow thats good but the beans had no flavor the best part was the shrimp and the meat(In had the tri tip) was cold when it came out and the rice was cold and hard. So not worth the price.

Haven’t been here in a few years but recently moved back to the neighborhood and came here for dinner tonight. I won’t be coming back, got the app sampler, my wings were raw, like bleeding raw. Also the chicken fingers were unseasoned and basically one big tendon. Rice was dry and lacked flavor. My quesadilla was ok but you can’t screw that up. Beer was solid of course.

Their free chips and salsa sets the tone for a perfect dining experience. They have tvs all around so I can watch several games at once. Their happy hour rocks.

My standards arent very high if I’m ordering dollar fiddy fish tacos after work on a Friday night but they would suffice under normal circumstances. You could reproduce them by pan frying cod and chopping up cabbage and red onions and adding cheese but frankly I am just too lazy to go to the trouble. My only real gripe is that the salsa and the taco sauce they included are both way too sweet. Please lay off the sugar… It is a fun environment and I can see this as a good place for a family or work dinner. I might come back one day to try something different.

Chuy’s was close to our hotel and had good ratings, so we gave it a try. Very disappointed with the food. The chicken was dry and the beef very fatty and tough. I could hardly cut the beef and chewing it was a chore. The beer was cold and the wairtstaff friendly, but after driving over 500 miles, I was hoping for a good meal.

One of the surviving Chuy’s. This place is great. Staff is always friendly and the food is consistently good. We probably frequent this place every month to month and a half. Typically we enjoy the Fajitas, fish salad, tri-tip sandwiches, etc. Yum!

I still like this place a lot! The chicken is faboo and now that I have discovered there $ 8 pitcher of margaritas I want to spend more time there! I think going there during happy hour is the best choice as they have some pretty great specials on food. Prices not as bad as I remember! Oh and FREE chips!

It was my first time at a Chuy’s. Not bad. I do like that they had 1800 margaritas for only $ 3 all day, everyday!(Normal house margaritas run for $ 2) Pretty cheap for those of us on a budget, and love our margaritas! Ahem! =) The bartender/servers were very friendly! Never been, so they gave me the rundown on what was good to eat and when was the best time to come back for either happy hour or to hang out. Pretty cool. Now, I don’t know if this is the normal fare or just during lunch, cause it was my first time there, but the place is basically self-service. First, you get to seat yourself, then a server comes to give you your menu, however, you must go to the counter/bar area to place your order and pay for your meal when done. It was fine with me though, cause it’s not like the bar is that far away… lol. Everything on the menu was pretty cheap too! Tex-Mex cuisine… Most entrees were under $ 7, plus they serve breakfast all day too! I ordered the Whitefish tacos(1Fried &1 Mesquite Grilled). Not too bad. I admit, I’ve had better, but it was ok. Not too much flavor to it. I was expecting a bit more flavor or spice. Next time I’ll try one of the burgers! They do have a big menu, so I’ll opt to try more things and give a better update next time. =) All in all it was a nice place… pretty big space actually. Cool décor and pics on the wall. Did I mention there was a self-serve salsa & chips bar too! Anyways, worth coming back again, if not for the food, for the margaritas for sure! =)

I friggin’ love this place and it’s been a family institution since we moved to Tucson from Southern California. I’ve eaten here more times than I can remember and my family has never been let down. Their mesquite grilled chicken with beans, slaw, and tortillas is amazing, and I’m pretty sure my dad gets it every time. I’m a huge fan of the tri-tip sandwich because the seasoning is awesome, they toast the bread to perfection, and it’s not a skimpy portion. Plus, they give out free chips with great salsa and pickled chilis from a SELFSERVE bar. Seriously, what’s not to like. I’ve been to probably all of the Chuy’s in Tucson(both currently opened and closed), and this is certainly the nicest and cleanest of all the locations.

Duuuuude, Chuy’s is like, totally rad. Like, their summer happy hour specials are bitchin’ braaaaa. Seriously though. Chuy’s is so laid back and such a great place for happy hour. The cool beach vibe and fun décor make it so relaxing and inviting. I hosted a little get together there yesterday and were treated very well. I had a reserved table(totally wasn’t expecting that, how nice!) and ordered several $ 8 pitchers of margaritas and a few $ 8 buckets of beer(5 beers — either Corona or Pacifico). That’s a really good bargain! and they make good margaritas. So duuuuude, get your happy hour on at Chuy’s. It’s like far out, man.

Really friendly waiters. I thought the food was great and affordable. Got coupons off of entertainment book and they even helped us choose so we got the most out of the offer. On top of the great food, i absolutely loved the theme of it. All the Menus have different designs all the chairs are painted uniquely. Its awesome. Highly reccomend.

Years ago I was a Chuy’s regular. Not so much anymore. My tastes have changed as well as the crowd I hang out with but on this particular occasion, a friend was having her birthday party here so we went. I was quickly reminded why I used to come more often. Their food is consistently good. I used to always order the shrimp skewers, and absolutely LOVED them. This time we ordered the Mahi Mahi skewers and had to get another order. The flavor of their skewers are just amazing! I wish I could get the recipe! I also always enjoy their charbroiled chicken plates and always have. The drinks? Less than impressive. But what do you expect? The girls from Chuy’s brought my friend over a complimentary shot because of her birthday. I had to laugh! Everyone was«oooing and aweing» over the shot! The girl put her hand over the top and whacked it on the table a few times and then my friend drank it. Come to find out, it was a little bit of tequila with some coke and get this… some sprite to help it fizz up when it’s pounded on the table! Oooooooo… fancy! Hahahaha!(I think Scott & Co. has spoiled me!) If you’re looking for a quick and cheap meal, this place isn’t too shabby. Make sure you get some of their seafood skewers though!
