Burns Pest Elimination

Last year I discovered that the employee of Burns did not spray my yard, but left a slip charging me as if he did. He never mentioned that he did not spray. When I called the company to let them know about it, they defended the employee’s actions saying that he didn’t know he could go into the back yard if I wasn’t home. That’s so funny because I had never been home when they came to spray. This time I was home and chose not to answer the door thinking he would just go ahead and spray. He not only didn’t spray he made no mention on the bill that he didn’t spray. Then I was told I would have to pay for the service I didn’t get. When they say money back guarantee don’t believe them. I told them to cancel my service. That was Oct. 2014. I had had seasonal service so come March 2015 I got a notice that Burns was coming out again. I called them to tell them that I had canceled my service last year. They said they would take care of it. Well they didn’t, they came out anyway. I called them again and they said they would take care of it. Finally, I wrote an email to them. They apologized and then sent me another bill. Are you kidding me? What does it take to get rid of this company. I may have them arrested for trespassing next time. I have never dealt with either incompetence or devious business practices like this before. Beware, you may get their service and then never be able to get rid of them.

My apartment complex uses Burns. I ended up finding carpet beetle larvae in my apartment (1 in my room, 1 in my kitchen) one day, so I let management know. They told me that Burns comes to our complex every Friday and they would have him do a full interior of my 1 bed 1 bath apartment that week. I was assured that the products they use are pet friendly, they just needed to dry before my cat could walk on it. I had to work Friday during the time that Burns services the complex, but no big deal. I gave the desk staff permission to let him in.
The technician treated just my bedroom and in the apartment for a total of 7 minutes. I know this because I have a nanny cam in my apartment. So I went to management to complain and showed them the video. The best we could guess was that he didn’t treat my living room or kitchen because of my cat, but he didn’t say anything to the office staff about it. The service ticket that he left was blank. To this day I have no idea what he did in my 11’x11’ bedroom.
So the next week, I arranged for my cat to stay elsewhere. Again, I set up the nanny cam. He treated my living room and kitchen, which is 10’x15’, for 3 minutes. This time, I didn’t get any ticket, so the only reason I know he was there is because of my nanny cam. So the entire treatment, which took 2 weeks to get, took 10 minutes for him to do.
I have no idea when I’ll have a follow up appointment, if I’ll even get one.
Also, it may be a coincidence, but after the first treatment, the keys my apartment keeps for my unit went missing. The last one to have them for sure was the Burns technician.
The only reason they will keep me as a customer is because I have no option in pest control. The moment I have a say, Burns is out of my life.

The professionalism given from the very first phone call to the correspondence sent from this company is unique in this industry! I’ve been with several other companies and have never once felt the passion for what they did the way Burns has! Their commitment to excellence exudes through their advertising, people and business habits!

Last year we had a termite infestation, our third in three years. We were told the house had been treated, but we did not like the treatment we got from the company that did the initial treatment, so we did some research. I’m quite glad we found this company.
The service is really nice. The receptionist was very helpful, and half an hour after we called, a technician called us to set up an appointment to make sure we had termites and to treat the place.
They were very thorough and it was cheaper to have our two story house treated with them than it was for my husband’s grandmother to have her one story treated with a national company five years ago.
While you do have to pay a fee for your warranty to remain active, it’s also means that any treatments you may need will be free, so I’d say it’s worth it. In fact, the technicians even say that a full treatment is not a guarantee of no infestation occurring because other termites could be attracted to the pheromones produced by the original colony, so it’s worth getting.

BUYER BEWARE!!! i had 2 properties serviced by burns. after 2 months past the warrranty, i had termites again. i had to pay another $ 550 for the service. 7 months after that, termites again. i scheduled an appt for service, nobody called or showed. they castled me 3 weeks later to schedule another appt. i requested a refund but they denied. sadly i had another property serviced by them at the same time. fortunately it was within the warranty and was serviced again. i suspect they use inferior methods and staff of pest control ONLY TO FUNNEL YOU INTO BUYING THE PERPETUAL WARRANTY PACKAGE. I don’t know anyone that has such trouble with termite service. Once a house is treated it stays bug free. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!

These people continue to send us bills for a service we did not personally request. They were never in our house. They claim they did a service in the parking lot and around the condos yet we live on the 2^nd floor and this does not apply to us. Ignorant employee has called my husband to harass him and tell him we owe them money because their «GPS» system says they were in our home. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.

Hey, this company is great! While in great distress Marcelino came to the rescue. The inspection was thorough, the plan of action clear with stellar follow-​up appointments. In addition to giving me peace of mind, Marcelino was spot on with his schedule. (No four hour window here. An actual appointment time.)
I’ve been surprised by Burns Pest Control is open to modifying time slots. Yes, I waited until the day before an appointment to recognize a conflict. Yes, the company sent reminder post cards in advance of the appointment. BUT no, I did not realize I had a scheduling issue until the day before. (Thank you so much for being flexible!)
I *really* appreciate how professional this company is. No ridiculous hard sell for services. Just clear communication on options and transparent pricing.
If you’re even in need I’d give these guys a call.

If I could give this company 6 stars I would. Robert and Rocket (K9) came to inspect my home this morning for bed bugs after my boyfriend found three bites in a row on his wrist and after I found a bug crawling on my mattress. Needless to say I was freaked out. Robert was wonderful and Rocky was amazing. Thankfully, I do NOT have bed bugs, but I would HIGHLY recommend this company. Rocket did a thorough inspection of my house (they were here for over an hour) and only alerted when they «planted» a vial of bugs throughout my house. God bless this company. You saved this nurse’s sanity today. :)

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Its very apparent that the guys that come inspect your house have little interest in actually addressing the issue and could care less if you have bed bugs or not. I have been living out of bags for months because they have failed to fix the issue of the bugs. One of the guys refused to believe that we still had them after the fact that I told him ive seen/​killed many since they did the last chemical treatment in our home. So he said he would send someone out to spray again but wasnt going to have the guy spary the whole house because it would be a waste of chemical? So, a week goes by he comes back to check out the house said we were clear of bed bugs after only being in our house for less than 2 min! Thats not enough time! And now, Im waking up with bites everywhere and have been seeing many baby ones everywhere. This will be the 4^th time they are coming to my house today and every single time they never come when they say they are so you end up waiting hours and hours for someone to show up only to be super rude. The only reason we are going through this horrible company is our apartment complex has a contract with them. Ive heard nothing but horror stories from the other tenants. DO NOT recommend

I have been a customer for over five years. Before that, Terminex. I switched when
Tx lost the Sentricon agreement. Plus they had not come for months. Burns has been here on time, every quarter since we started. Just the outside, the pots in the ground.
This week, i discovered i had termites in my middle bathroom ceiling. One of those nest things hanging down. One call, out next am, done in a half hour. Excellent. Free.
Now we are going to have to replace a shower control valve. Into the wall, exposing the studs. They will come back and do the foam behind the wall when we have it open. Again, free. And if i recall right, they did not charge me to put the pots in the ground. Just the annual fee.
The will always be our Pest service.

I recently found evidence of termites in my home. I called Burns on the recommendation of my neighbors. When the rep came out, he
did only a cursory inspection of my house. Offered me three options for treatment but was unable to answer my questions regarding the options offered or why my neighbors were having frequent reoccuance of termites regardless of multiple treatments by Burns. Once he left, he never followed up with me to schedule a treatment. Am amazed in what is called a bad economy that businesses like Burns send their staff out to give quotes but never follow up to close the deal. Causes me to question how attentive they would be if they got my business.

Called Burns to remove a Pigeon from our Chimney. The first guy that came out basically did nothing to remove the bird. The cost was $ 170 for him to do nothing and put some wire up to exclude them from the chimney and under our A/​C — in 2 weeks from that date. 3 days later the bird is still alive and making alot of noise, so I call back and tell them we’ve tried everything recommended (light, etc.) but we want him out before his dead carcass stinks up our house. A new crew (very friendly) is sent and actually tries to get the bird out (eventually succeeding and thankfully the bird was still alive) and does the exclusion work.
Overall, we’re happy but it shouldn’t have taken a second call to get the bird removed.

There may be better pest control companies out there, but I doubt it. Burns is the first company I’ve tried in AZ (because they were the company my HOA used) and will never go elsewhere. In my old condo, I had roaches coming from the neighbor’s house. Burns did a three month treatment (meaning they come out once a month, three months in a row) and the roaches were gone, never to be seen again. At my new condo, I had a problem with tiny ants near the kitchen and bathroom sinks when I moved in. Again, I requested the three month treatment and they were gone! Finally, two years later, I saw a couple tiny ants in the kitchen again. When I called Burns, they asked about my problem and said a single treatment would probably suffice. I really appreciated their honesty. Burns sent their technician, Salvador, to my house this morning and he was AMAZING! He came first thing in the morning so I didn’t have to wait around all day and he was incredibly thorough. He even crawled under my sinks and caulked up open spaces around the pipes in case ants were entering that way. Who does that? I showed him a new ant hole I had seen outside the kitchen window. After he left, I noticed the ant hole was gone so he must have taken care of that while he was treating the outside. He answered all my questions and explained the chemicals used. He responded to every concern. I am very happy with Burns and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I also suggest asking for Salvadore, if he is available. He was great! Thank you Burns!

Sorry for the long story… We got a nasty infestation of bed bugs in our apartment. This company came out and inspected the apartment and left us instructions on what to do. They told us that they were going to be there on X day and at around sometime that morning. Well we got the apartment ready as well as we could for them. My husband and I both work but since the managment was going to let them in when they were coming it was fine and we arranged for our two small children to stay with the babysitter longer and made plans so that we could get home at 4 p. m and air out the apartment then go out for a few hours while the fumes were blown out.
Well we got home at 4 and what do you know, they HADN’t ARRIVED yet to spray the house! We went and asked the front office if they had showed up and they had to call the company to ask them when they were planning on arriving. They finally arrived at 5 PM. I have to admit I was pretty pissed off. Hey, who knows maybe they got busy with another appointment and hadn’t been able to get to us? I don’t know but I wouldn’t have minded if they had just came the next day to get it done rather than coming in the evening!
Yes, our problem was fixed, so I am grateful for that. I just wished there was some type of courtesy from this company to let someone know when they are planning on arriving.

I called to get some treatment done in my house, had an appointment for between 1 –3pm. At 330pm I called the main office to see where they technician was, he was running behind (when was someone going to let me know this!) The office contacted the Tech who as going to be at least another 1 to 1.5 hours before he got to my house. My house was going to be bombed, and I had to be out of my house for 3 hours. So if he arrived at my house at 430 or so, took an hour to prep my house that would be 530, then I had to be out of my house until 830 on a school night! I dont think so. I rescheduled for another day. So checking my bank account today, they had taken the money out of for a Treatment that never happened! Just solidified what I was going to do, I canceled altogether. I dont feel like they thought my time was important.

Burns will not give an arrival time so I guess their target market is people who are home all day. If you need an eta, you must call the morning of the service, then the gal in the office will call the tech & call you back. They must not have any sort of radio system for their techs either. However, we noticed they had cell phones when they were here. I guess the techs can’t always answer. Today Burns estimated they’d arrive between 12 – 2 and did not arrive until after 4. I am also displeased b/​c my apt complex claimed Burns did not have an available appt until two weeks after we noticed the problem.

We began service with them in 2007 for a property we own in Phoenix, then cancelled in mid-​2008 as they were becoming unreliable. Decided to give them another shot near the end of 2008 and they billed us a new startup fee (even though we hadn’t been gone for more than 6 months). They then took out the startup fee TWICE. I called the billing dept and was told there was a credit on our account for the duplicate startup fee. We never heard a word from then again (nor did they service our property) until receiving a certified letter today, 8÷7÷10, stating we are overdue for two payments & they are about to turn it over to a collection agency. Note, invoices were included with an address of somewhere we have never lived. Not to mention, we were on an auto-​payment plan from our checking account, so why would they even send invoices? What a joke. We began service at the property again a couple months ago, but went with Bulwark. So far, so good. I’m not going near Burns ever again.

Sorry to see a couple other people have not had such good luck with Burns, but we have had nothing but great service. Andrew has been our technician for at least a year, and he’s fast, courteous, and a cutie to boot. I never worry that he’s casing the joint.
Our appointments are on a 3-​month schedule, but we’ve always received reminder cards and never had a no-​show. In fact, I don’t think they’ve ever been late either. When gas was at $ 17/​gallon, they did tack on a small fuel charge (less than $ 2), but it was removed when prices went down, and we’re still at $ 75.
I can safely enter a dark room without reaching around the corner to turn on the light first for fear of what might be waiting… and I haven’t had to throw any more of my husband’s shoes away! They’ve earned the 5^th star!

We were a loyal customer of Burns since moving to AZ over 6 years ago. In November they failed to show for the scheduled appointment. They did reschedule for the next day and promised it would not happen again. They showed for the re-​schedule appointment but the technician was unsure of why he had been dispatched.
They were supposed to show up, this month, on ½/​08. They didn’t. When I called they rescheduled for ¼/​08. And never showed up.
Not reliable. Too bad.
