Many years ago Bangkok was my first Thai food experience, and it definitely jump started my love of Thai food. In the Tucson Thai scene it’s a solid choice, and I definitely would rank it middle of the pack. You’d need to travel about 20 – 30 minutes southeast of this location to find the best in town. My friend and I went last night and shared the Po Pia Sod spring rolls with shrimp. They were decent and made better by a spoonful of sweet chili that came with them. My friend ordered the Tom Kha Kai soup with chicken. The flavors on this dish are fantastic and the soup is worth the trip alone. I had the Pad See Ew. This is a flat noodle dish that reminds me of Chinese Chow Fun(my fave choice for comfort food), which is why I almost always order it. The dish is a bit on the sweeter side but more bland than most Thai dishes. It’s a good option for someone looking to take a slight diversion from the Pad Thai staple. Friendly service, prompt food, total bill for the three dishes was about 30 with tax.

Went here for lunch today, nice quiet little place, the food wasn’t that spicy, so know their scale in on the low side. I got the yellow curry with chicken, and have to say it was a solid dish, plenty enough for leftovers and leaving with a full belly, the fresh spring rolls are not their strong suit, but over all this is a decent place

Really wanted to like this place as Tucson is seriously lacking for Thai food. Had a papaya salad and a Thai tea. Was good. Then watched as three tables around us that arrived after us get there food. Waited for 50 minutes and politely asked waitress when we would be served. We had enough and left. An experienced waitress would offer maybe a free tea or something, maybe apologize? We wont try to eat here again.

I feel like I wanted to like this place as a couple of people recommended this place but I did not, in so many ways. Very sad. The waitress was very new and when we asked for vegetarian options, she was helpful, thus the one star. The food was cold,(pad thai) and tasted fishy. I think the veggies are frozen. When we informed our server, someone else came over, said everything was made«fresh» and asked if we wanted to order something else. We declined. Then she put our check on the table and walked away. That was that. We paid the full bill, even though we didn’t eat and stayed for a bit. No one ever came to our table again. We won’t go back there.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. Everytime we go to Tucson we have to stop and eat there. The staff is very friendly they are very quick with your order and very efficient everything always comes out as expected with a smile. We like to take our friends here to try the experience of Thai food and everybody we have taken has loved it. Highly recommend Bangkok Café to anyone who wants to experience Thai food or if you already love Thai food. Just thinking about it makes me want to run up to Tucson and get some right now.

Best yellow curry we’ve found in Tucson. It comes with carrots, potato, broccoli, bell pepper, bok choy, onion and fried tofu(per request). The veggie fried rice is also amazing. The curry comes with some spice so don’t ask for more unless you like to sweat. I asked for a level 3 and normally I’d be fine but here it felt like a 4+. My sister also ordered the iced coffee and it was great-super sweet and strong. Definitely will be coming here often as our business is down the street.

My first visit and I have to say not bad Tucson, not bad. The restaurant was typically decorated with plenty of sitting. I was immediately greeted. I ordered the Thai Toast and the Pineapple Fried Rice. The fried rice had both chicken and shrimp, as did the appetizer toast. The seasoning on both dishes was perfect. The price was very reasonable and the portion sizes plenty! Definitely one of the better Asian themed restaurants I have tried so far in Tucson.

After a less than good experience with the service, my yellow curry arrived with a short, curly, black hair in it. We pointed out the error and received a poor apology. Never returning. Time to find a cleaner Thai restaurant.

The food is really good. You can’t really go wrong with any of the curries and I like my food to be spicy and they deliver. The papaya salad is pretty good too

A monthly affair for me. A couple of tips: 1. Always, always ask: «What’s good this evening?» 2. Never order anything that your palate cannot handle. 3. If you want your food to have that«authentic» taste, ASK. Unfortunately, most Asian foods here in the States have to strive to find a balance between that«I like everything sweet» American palate and the«this is gotta taste like the street food vendors I grew up with» Asian taste bud… PS: There is a nice selection of spices(off-menu and not on the table). You just have to ask your waitstaff!

Pros: Nicely cushioned seats, good quality water, nice cups. Out of all the food we ordered, the only decent ones were the satay chicken and fish cake. Cons: Almost everything else. The rest of our food, som tum(too sweet, not spicy), thai tea(watered down, no tea taste, too sugary), pad thai(too sweet, hard noodles), pad khee mao(wrong noodle used, too sweet, hard noodles), pad se ew(flavorless, hard noodles, steak was eehh-very tough), yellow curry(watered down, too sweet, overcooked chicken), didnt even recieve our larb. They dont even have any spicy chilies when you ask for it. Restaurant décor looked very village like. Not very appealing to the eye. Overall, we only ate at this restaurant because we were hungry and wanted Thai/Lao food(we’re Laos so we know what this food is supposed to taste like!). Don’t really recommend this place unless you’re desperate.

Bangkok is A-OK in my book. And while I’ve never been to Thailand I have eaten at some well Respected Thai eateries across the country. Our little Bangkok café churns out your typical fare at higher prices than more folks would like. I’m a fan of the green curry and the yellow curry. I prefer my curry with beef for pork. For apps, we ordered the spring rolls with tofu, which I personally don’t love. We also ordered the grilled pork served with sticky rice and some sort of garlicky-fish sauce that was quite tasty! I’d order that one again. I enjoy Thai food and I’m always curious about the other Thai joints in town. But when I’m craving a curry dish I know it’s a safe bet with the green or yellow curry.

Worst Thai food I’ve ever had, hands down. I would also venture to say that it’s one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s that bad. The prices are crazy high. $ 15.95 for pineapple fried rice? For real? The waitresses were too caught up in their own drama to give a damn about anyone else, and the food was terrible. It’s hard to fuck up a Spring Roll, but congratulations Bangkok Café, you managed to do just that. The rest of the food was just as bad as the Spring Rolls. I wouldn’t go back to this place if someone paid me.

Food was really good. Our group got pad Thai, nice balanced flavors, pineapple fried rice, delicious in flavor and texture, and green curry, quite spicy, but great flavor and the eggplant and zucchini were delicious. Why 2 stars? 1. Charged us gratuity for 5 people. Never seen this before, but I guess that’s how they do it there. Therefore, be warned if you have 5 people. 2. Expensive. 16 $ for pineapple fried rice. Decent sized plate but not worth 16 $. 3. Servers should smile more. Especially if they’re charging gratuity for 5 people. 4. Service was slow and it wasn’t that busy. There were probably 4 – 5 tables there when we ordered. Some had food and some didn’t yet. 5. Rude. My husband waved to them to get our check. The hostess looked at us and looked back down. No acknowledgement. Then we waved again and THEN she acknowledged us and got us our check. Again, with the 5-person gratuity. That’s so ratchet. If you must, I’d suggest getting take out for lunch. Lunch is a bit cheaper.

Have you ever been so sore from the gym that you could not even lift your arms to cook dinner for yourself??? That was me on Monday night. I called in my order as I was leaving the gym and drove straight there. I got a pad see ew noodle with chicken. I like how they had it ready for me right away when I arrived and it was fresh and hot. However it was lacking in flavor & I felt like there was something missing from the dish! I do have to give them props for actually using the Chinese broccoli and not regular broccoli. It’s a bit overpriced and since it wasn’t really that tasty I probably won’t go again. Still on the hunt for some good Asian food in Tucson.

We were wanting to go out on a date night, we didn’t exactly know where we wanted to go until we drove past Bangkok Café. The thought of mango sticky rice came to mind and I suggested that we eat here! It was about 830 at night in the restaurant closes about nine. I was a little worried that we were getting there too late but there were four other couples that came in the door after us, I assume that’s normal on a Saturday night. I got the pad Thai and my husband about something similar and of course! I ordered the mango sticky rice, unfortunately they were out of the mango… so I chose custard to go with my sticky rice instead. We got our meals and I was waiting for the sticky rice but it never came… the server had forgotten and while she brought the ticket asked if I would still want the sticky rice… I told her no. And we went and got Allegros gelato instead. I was a little unhappy that my order wasn’t completely served. The food was good… But hopefully next time I go in the service will be better.

If you tend to enjoy flavor explosions, chances are good that you’ll like Bangkok. It’s nice and quiet enough for a date or professional lunch/dinner. I really enjoy Bangkok, and in particular, I endorse three succulent entrees: pad Thai, pad see ew, and panang curry. The pad thai is everything it’s supposed to be: a bit sweet and tangy, perfectly cooked noodles, juicy sautéed vegetables, and a 3* heat that’s sufficiently spicy. The pad see ew and the panang curry are equally delicious. Think flavor explosions. This is a nice place – it’s clean, excellent service, great central Tucson location, and it’s quiet.

We(2) came here tonight for dinner. I’ve been here several times in the past and the food is usually pretty good. The service tonight was horrendous. Three different people were at our table asking us for drinks and trying to take our orders. We saw a different person at our table every time. I ordered a second beer and the owner/manager encouraged us to hurry up and clear off our table so that he could sit another table. We were rushed and treated rudely. The food was mediocre, the place was loud, packed, and chaotic and the bill was pricey. I don’t think I will be back.

I used to live in Thailand, so I’m pretty picky about this stuff and let’s be honest, nothing compares to Thai street food… We shared the beef laab($ 7.95) which was good but was lacking something, not quite sure what, but something. We added all the condiments trying to sort it out with no luck. The chicken panang($ 11.95) which was nice. Not amazing, but nice. Those two dishes were large enough to share between the two of us, which was nice. I can’t say it was amazing, but I’d be willing to give it another try to see what else they have to offer.
