We work closely with your dentist to provide you with a treatment plan that works for you, although no referral is needed to be seen by our surgeons.

Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons is the longest established oral surgery specialty practice in Tucson, founded in 1971 by Dr. George Bland and

Dr. John Wenaas. AZOMS has been providing care for patients for more than 40 continuous years. Currently doctors Robert S. Wood and Nicholas J. Coles combine over 30 years of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery to provide full-​time care for our patients.

We operate two offices in the Tucson area to serve our patient population. Our Oro Valley location is brand new! Both of our offices offer state of the art equipment, including 3D Xrays, digital impressions and scanning, and computer-​guided dental implant surgery. Our main offices are located on Tucson’s east side near Sabino Canyon and Tanque Verde Roads, and in Oro Valley, near Tangerine and Oracle roads, in Innovation Park.

Business Owner

Dr. Nicholas Coles was born and raised in Utah, in a family where his father, sister, and two of his brothers became dentists. After completing his undergraduate studies at Utah State University, in 2004, he attended Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Coles was then accepted into the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He was extensively trained in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. During training, he also completed rotations in anesthesia, general surgery, plastic surgery, head and neck surgery, oculoplastic surgery, and internal medicine. Dr. Coles enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and has a particular interest in dental implant surgery, pathology and reconstruction, cosmetic facial procedures, facial trauma, and wisdom teeth surgery. Dr. Coles is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
