Description

Specialties

AdvanceArtTAZ represents me, David Van Sice, a freelance fine artist and designer. You can see my work at www.advancearttaz.com. I grew up in Tucson and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1978. I make and sell colorful abstract paintings, realistic graphite and colored pencil, oil pastel, and ink drawings. I also do watercolor paintings, wood and linoleum block prints, mixed media textural art that I photograph, digitally edit, and sell as digital prints for your pleasure or for graphic design backgrounds. In fact you can purchase any of my work as digital printouts. Look up my website and see what is available, or call me at the number listed and set up a meeting with me to see my portfolio.

History

Established in 2015.

I opened AdvancArtTAZ this year after a long period of convalescence. Like you my family has struggled with the poor economy, and when another member of our extended family came into our home a year and a half ago I knew it was time for me to come out of retirement and go back to work, one way or another. I have partnered in or owned businesses in the past so I know a little about what I am doing and, because I have made art since I was very young and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in art, art is what I do and have done my whole life. As I have said elsewhere I have been an artist for 57 years no matter if anyone noticed it or not and I am confident in what I do.

Meet the Business Owner

Davd V.

Business Owner

David came to Tucson in 1951. After arriving he became very ill & spent much of the next six years in St. Mary’s Hospital. The halls and lobby of the hospital were decorated with many large and beautiful paintings and sculptures and as he would stand and marvel at them he says, «A great love for art engulfed me». At 8 years old he decided to become an artist. Throughout school he took every art class that was available to him and excelled in every case and ultimately received his B. A. from the U of A in Art in 1978. He taught art in Arizona pubic schools for 6 years but retired in 1984 to find a more consistent income. He owned a business as a freelance artist and consultant in Lake Havasu City, AZ. His work has been shown in S. Cal. and AZ, & in the last show he entered 3 pieces & won 3 ribbons & 2 cash awards. He has completed over 40 pieces since September of last year and his website offers over 90 pieces, 2 sold last month. He is is currently seeking consignment opportunities.
