History

Established in 1990.

ACS was established in 1990 by W. Stephen Rogers, who at the time, was working as a technician.

After eighteen years in our industry, Steve opened up ACS out of his home office. The original company focus was installing and equipment for commercial/​industrial customers in the local area. In 1995, Steve expanded the business to include residential and light commercial markets. In March of 1999, ACS started our sheet metal/​installation department.

Over the past 10+ years, the company has grown to become one of Southern Arizona’s most trusted and preferred Air conditioning companies.

I just replaced home HVAC. After going out for bids, I selected ACS because they explained what needed to be done and what a good installation would require. Several of the other bidders were very hard to pin down, in fact one I never really ever get a quote from only rough estimates.
Of the 7 vendors who bid, only 2 mentioned that a permit was needed and that they would handle the permit. After checking, I found out that the others do not apply for permits … They know it is your responsibility even if you don’t.
Also, only two of the bidders were able to provide the energy star rebate thru TEP. One said you just apply after we finish the job. I checked with TEP and found out only contractors on their approved list can provide those rebates, that contractor was not on the approved list.
Daniel, the installer, did a very nice install significantly improving on the previous install. He also sealed the ducts and balanced the air flow. Excellent work.
I’m impressed with ACS, hoping for 10 or more years of trouble free performance.

No customer service at all, no sense, no logic.
Obviously all the good reviews here is a total scam. We have a building in Tucson and needed service. The experience that we had with Rick is just beyond words.
Just a piece of advice for people in need of qualified AC repair or estimate, if you need a good customer service and a company that actually cares, you should avoid this one by any means.

Unilocal needs to add a GOLD STAR for superb performance! I had been running around all morning getting shopping done and what not. only to come home and discover that my AC was down. I already had an appointment on Tuesday to have the part I needed replaced but it didn’t make it.
Peter was on call and called me back within minutes of me calling the after hours service center.
My 3 dogs and disabled parent appreicate ACS so much for stepping up to the plate when it comes to service.
We’ve been in our home for 19 years this July 4th and it’s only taking me 16 years to find the best HVAC company in Tucson. They are honest about the work and walk you through it all, explaining the details of the problem and give you an honest and fair quote for parts and labor.
We used those celebrity driven HVAC places or those ones that advertize on Televison but like my Grandmother used to tell me. If a business can’t stand up on it’s own reputation without all the bells and whistles then she wouldn’t use them.

I called this in at 2:31 pm and Peter is just now leaving at 4:15 pm. That’s pretty damn good for a service time and my house is already cooling down. I’ll be seeing Peter on Tuesday for my Motor replacement that the OTHER HVAC company ruined in the first place … you know the one, that Local Celebrity Sponsored one by a local basketball coach! NEVER again will I call on them!

My ac went out at the worst time, Saturday evening. Thought for sure I was out of luck til Monday. Where do you turn… Unilocal of course.
Found these guys and they looked legit, and had a contact button for 24⁄7 service. OK, that’s me. Also felt comforted my Unilocal friend also posted a good review, hat tip Robin.
Called and talked to what I could tell was an after hours answering service, so was a little nervous but they assured someone would call me shortly.
Within about 5 minutes Peter called and gave me a time. He showed up on time, friendly, professionals, quickly diagnosed the problem, did a great job explaining the issue and had me back up and running in no time. There didn’t even seem to be any weekend or after hour up charge which was a relief, very reasonable.
Definitely will use again and recommend. A+

Milo came out to our house saturday and I was impressed with his knowledge and customer service he delivered. He thoroughly troubleshooted the situation and he answered all our questions and concerns with great respect. As being a relatively new home owner we were nervouse about calling to have a service person out at our home for this matter. I have heard horror stories. Milo was respectful, appearence was professional, which matched the service. Thanks again for your help and prompt service! For future needs we will definitely call back

Our air conditioner gave up on us in the middle of July and right away we called ACS. They got out to us in the same day and Peter did a great job finding the problem, explaining it to me well and worked to get it repaired right away. My house was cool again in no time and for a very fair price. I make sure to refer them to anyone I know that needs any air conditioning services!

peter did great work. showed me what the problem was with my ac. i needed a new blower. it is an old unit. the work was done quickly and cleanly. he made sure it all worked properly before leaving. it was a huge relief during the hot summer. asked for an estimate on a new unit and it was about 7−15k. seemed a little high to me, but then again I’m a new homeowner.

I was referred to ACS by another company who would not take new customers during the summer heat emergencies. I called them at 8:15am and by 9:15am I had cool air. The service tech, Peter Herb, was friendly and efficient. What I appreciate the most is that they didn’t over-​charge me when they easily could have on a Saturday with temperatures forecast to be 106 degrees all weekend. Their diagnostic fee was actually less than the company I originally called. Well Done!!! I will be using them for routine servicing going forward!
