History
Established in 1991.
Hello, my name is Greg Schmidt, and I am the owner of Acme Irrigation Company. My background is in turf grass management, particularly, golf course maintenance. However, in 1984 I took a position as Irrigation Supervisor for Saudi Arabia Landscape Company (SALCO) on a multi-million dollar landscape project in Najran, Saudi Arabia. I returned to Tucson in 1986, where I began my business management education by working for a number of major landscape companies and paying attention as to how they kept their books and managed different aspects of their businesses. Then, in April of 1991, I founded Acme Irrigation Company and obtained my contractors’ license in 1993. Since then, we have twice earned the Arizona Landscape Contractors’ Association’s (ALCA) ‘Award of Distinction’, dug a lot of trenches, laid a lot of pipe and repaired a lot of systems. We have created many satisfied customers and we look forward to many more years of quality service.

I was born in Beech Grove, Indiana at St. Francis Hospital on July 24, 1951. I was educated at Holy Cross Grade School, Brebeuf Preparatory High School, class of 1969 and I have attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana as well as IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. I came to Tucson in 1978 to escape freezing cold winters and have since made a home here. I have enjoyed being in the landscape/irrigation industry for over thirty-five years and I am looking forward to many more.
