Accent On Vision

This is the first time we came to Accent on Vision in Tucson to buy my dad’s glasses. A couple weeks later, Felicia, one of their staff, who helped us last time called and let us know that the glasses were ready, but it was defective because the optical lab chipped the glass, so she need it to order another one for us. She told us that we can still come and pick up the defective pair to use in the meantime, but she and one of the manager, Jessica, never mentioned that pair of glasses was a loan.
A couple of weeks later, she called back again, and she said the glasses were ready to be picked up without telling us to bring back the defective pair. Therefore, when we came again, Wendy, the store manager asked us for the defective pair to exchange for the new one. So we left without being able to get the new defects free pair, we had to come back the third time with the defective pair, and we complained about the inconvenience. This time, Wendy said Jessica already told us about the loan pair and she would not lie to her about us not knowing that the defective pair was a loan pair, insinuating that we are liars. Also, she asked us «Do you understand what a loan pair means ?». It was very unprofessional and not necessary to asked an unhelpful question; it doesn’t solve the issue and escalate it even further. She insulted us and that we lied to her. We wanted to see and talk to the owner, Michael Zucker, but it seemed as thought he tried to avoid clients (not a great way to retain clients!!!).
I wanted to give them a no star review, but added 1 star for Felicia and Lysette. They were helpful.

Paloma is the lady that helped me choose a new frame. She went above and beyond her job helping me find the perfect new pair of frames. The eye doctor was extremely nice. The office is a wonderful atmosphere and the prices are unbelievable! Best vision place in Tucson!

Great place until recently. Something happening with ??? Hours shortened, fewer staff, distractions. Might be my last visit. Very weird.

We have been coming here for five years because it was always great. I don’t know what’s happening to this place, but it’s going downhill fast. The eye exam was fine and the Dr was fine, but the front of the house is a circus. Just some of the most unprofessional people I’ve experienced. During the eye scan and tests before I saw the doctor, the woman helping me was going on and on with another woman who worked there about some girls pregnancy and talking about her own experiences with water breaking, crowning and things like that. I’m not a prude and it didn’t offend me. In fact, I was actually laughing inside at how comical it was thinking I was on some hidden camera show as surely this shit had to be a joke. It was very apparent I was simply an afterthought as my mere presence was nothing more than an interruption into the flow of their conversation. Only occasionally acknowledging me to tell me to go to the next machine and place my head down.
After I finally got my eye exam done, I placed an order for contacts since they didn’t have them. I waited. Then waited. Then waited some more. No call. After about 2 weeks, we finally called. Not in. Another week later, we call again. Not in. Finally, after about the fourth week, they’re in. I wasn’t as annoyed that they weren’t getting the contacts in since, after all, who really needs to see? I was more annoyed that nobody ever bothered to give an updated status the whole time.
I finally drive down there to pick them up and there’s nobody up front. There’s a doctor off to the side going through some paperwork and a woman towards the back on the phone, but nobody sitting at the front desk. They have a bell you can ring for customer service, but I figured since I made eye contact with the woman on the phone, no sense in being an obnoxious ass and ringing the bell. I’ll just wait until she’s done. After a few minutes of her conversation, she finally hangs up, looks back at me, then turns around and disappears into the back. After that, the doctor looks over and asks if I’ve been helped and then proceeds to give me my contacts.
Shame. Was such a good place. But the whole front staff vibe just feels very high school now. No other way I can describe it. Time to find somewhere else.

I wanted to give this place a 1-​star review but added another one for the Dr’s. They’re fantastic.
But the office staff is completely unprofessional. Personal conversations, employees giving each other backrubs, lost paperwork, missing glasses, and more. Everytime I would call to find out what was going on with my glasses, they would ask me who helped me fit them. Why I would remember this, and why this matters, I have no idea. Except to think that their entire process is paper-​based. All of the records are in folders under each of the employees. This makes positively no sense. Twice I called to find out what was going on and twice I was told I would get a call back that never came. I finally get the manager and she assures me that she’ll call me «right back» to let me know what’s going on. This was a Friday afternoon. She called while I was in the checkout line and I missed the call. The message left said to «give them a call back for more information.» Are you kidding me? You’re incapable of leaving a message?
I then get a call from the young woman who originally helped me with the glasses who was a bit snotty with me because I should apparently be talking to her every time I call. Wow. Great system.
I finally get my glasses. They’re progressive lenses. The girl who fit me had no idea. I had to tell her. And she basically said, if they bother me to put my old glasses back on. Um, okay. This doesn’t help me navigate how they work. Great service.
Bleh. Thankfully, we moved across town. We’ll never be back.

I have had such wonderful experiences with this place. Dr. Samson is down to earth, thorough, and just downright pleasant to work with. I’ve worked with a number of the others on lenses and glasses, including Tony and Mary, and always leave with a smile (even got a very welcome hug from Mary!) They take my insurance (VSP) and always work to get me the best deal. I never feel like they’re trying to upsell me on features I don’t need. They are professional, friendly, knowledgable and quick. I wish every doctor’s visit was this easy!

I’ve been coming to Accent on Vision for a couple of years now and I am really pleased with my experiences. First and foremost, they take a wide variety of insurances. But most importantly, they are the bees knees with frames. They have all the big designers, Chanel, Versace, Bvlgari, you name it, they for sure have it. The staff is super friendly and walk you through all of the preliminary tests before you meet with the actual doctor. The staff is also very helpful when picking out your frames, recommending different styles and shapes. They also have really great pricing and always have promotional offers going on so just ask. They also have a lot of cute sunglasses too that their promotions will apply for so I’ll be checking them out before I hit up Sunglass Hut next time.

Unfortunately I can only give three stars. Although my glasses and sun glasses are awesome and I have never seen so well it took from April to July to get them done properly. My sunglasses had to go back three times and my regular glasses had to go back twice. I could not see any signs on the road, saw double when trying to see the aisle signs in the grocery store, and when trying to read could not see clearly. Finally Dr. Zucker re-​examined me. He said he had to tweak my prescription. Then the best optician they have, Linda took charge. She called all the prior places I had glasses done until she re measured and figured it out. Waited for another two weeks and finally got my glasses and they are great. I thought what happened to me was unique but apparently this has happened to a few of the reviewers. Maybe that should be a sign that there is something wrong somewhere. The staff, unfortunately I do agree, they are not that friendly The young woman that does the pre-​exam procedures at times seems so unfriendly and seems like she does not want to be there. Not a smile, very stark. Such a young pretty woman to be so sourly. Another thing I noticed was a little bit of tension with the employees.
All in all if you have patience and the time just in case they don’t get it right the first time then go. Ask for Dr. Zucker. I will Definitely keep on going back if Dr. Zucker and Linda will do my glasses because the end result was great!

SUMMARY: Awful quality for its so-​called «glasses,» and customer service is pretty much a joke. Everything is wayyyy overpriced, and VERY questionable ethics for giving me subpar glasses for over $ 600. Buyer beware.
This is a follow-​up from my previous visits. I first found this place on Unilocal at the time when there were 8 glowing Unilocal reviews. Now this place has 24 reviews, and almost all its recent reviews were 1 and 2-​stars.
Here is why: IT SUCKS!
I had a pleasant experience with Accent UNTIL I started wearing the glasses they gave me. I had huge headaches from the glasses and initially I thought it was just me getting used to the glasses. NO, the glasses were DEFECTIVE.
It took me 3 times to fix the prescription sunglasses I got from Accent on Vision. Each time there was a huge problem with the glass — either it was not installed correctly (the glasses sticking out of the frame), or there was a huge visible distorted smear that was actually part of the glass. I no longer wear them because they are not of good quality at all — and I paid over $ 300 for them!
The ordinary eye glasses also had some problem with stratifying light and I can sometimes see a strange sheen on people. I also feel that it’s not focused correctly and I experience double vision from wearing them.
Whatever glass manufacturer it contracts with is a complete disaster (had to send my sunglasses back 3 – 4 times) and not worth the big dollars on the so-​called «designer» glasses. Complete waste of money…
As to service, some of the staff members are nice, but not very helpful. The younger staff members, as some other people have pointed out, are simply rude and inconsiderate.
My sunglasses also fit oddly to my face, and there was no satisfying adjustment. I was recommended to get some sort of nose bridge to lift the glasses from my flat Asian face… Really?

Let me start off by saying how awesome Dr. Zucker is, he is one of the best opticians I have ever gone to, but the reason behind this review is because of this office’s awful service in the front of the house. I completely agree that he needs to clean house or maybe invest in some form of customer service training. Most of the front line staff are at work in way too «revealing» of clothing, which concerns me because they work in a professional industry. When I was in there last, one of the workers was wearing a blouse that had no back. When you first arrive, you aren’t greeted, just told to sign in, it really shouldn’t be that difficult to say, «Good Morning!»
Work on your customer service Dr. Zucker, sadly I wont be back because of it.

I love accent on vision. Dr. Zucker has been my doctor for years. He is great, the girls he has working for him are a bit rude but managable. I was in and out of my appointment very fast within 30 minutes and with a child that was awesome, my last experience elsewhere my total time there was way over an hour. I would highly recommend this place.

Great service, and amazing prices with insurance. I basically walked out with 3 pairs of designer glasses and didn’t have to lay any money down. The optometrist was kind. I am a snob when it comes to glasses and this place definitely has the designer looks that are popular!

This place is amazing! My son’s glasses broke, I was worried! The lady that helped me was so wonderful in finding a pair that would fit his lenses (his lenses were only a month old) she put the lenses in the new frames and was all ready in just 10mintues. I’m so thank you for their hard working staff. I will be a forever customer!

The best in class… service, quality, courteous and professional.

I have been to Accent on Vision several times, back when they were located in The River Square Plaza near Denny’s. I purchased a pair of Gucci eye glasses from them in 2007. For the frames and high quality lenses I paid around $ 475. Despite the fact that the lenses protruded about 1/​8″ out of the frame I was pleased with them.
In 2008, I had planned a trip abroad for a couple months. My glasses needed some adjustments made to them, so naturally I went to Accent on Vision. I did not make an appointment but walked in and asked if my glasses cloud be adjusted despite this. The woman at the counter told me yes and that there would be a short wait. Soon the initial woman that I spoke with left and another woman then attended the counter.
After waiting about 15 minutes, I asked her if the wait would be much longer, and that all I needed was an adjustment. She said she would check, left and came back to adjust my glasses. We sat down and she took a basic cloth and began to rub the frames to heat and bend the plastic. (note: I wear my contact during the day and my glasses at night). When she was done manipulating the plastic she would hand me the glasses for me to try on, I would close my eyes, notice the subtle changes and told her how they felt. At one point I noticed her rubbing and bending the plastic nose bridge. To create enough heat to bend the plastic takes some effort and some force; her actions seemed controlled but were forceful. She finished, I thanked her and left.
Later that night I put my glasses on for the night and when I did I could not see clearly out of them… it looked like there were smears all over them. I removed the glasses to clean them, in doing so I noticed that the film coating had what appeared to be stress induced cracking, the glass was intact but the top layer looked crackled mainly near the nose bridge, and would not wipe off. I realized in the woman’s efforts to adjust my glasses she had stress the lenses to the point of crackling the non-​reflective coating. I had not realized this at Accent on Vision because I had closed my eyes due to the prescription contacts I was wearing and looking through the same prescription glasses was an awful strain on my eyes.
(keep in mind my flight left at 9:00 the next morning)
I called Dr. Zucker to inform him of the incident, and my circumstances, and that there was no way for my to come in and have these replaced before my flight. I told him that I would be returning in 45 days and would bring them in at that to have them repaired. My intention was to bring this to his attention sooner then later.
When I returned, I brought my glasses in to be repaired, I told them of the incident and that I had contacted Dr. Zucker when I first became aware of it. I was treated rudely, and made to wait while Dr. Zucker stood in a back hallway talking with his associate. After several minutes of discussion between the two men a woman was then sent out to simple state that they would be replace only because they were still under the manufacture warranty, but that I could not change the prescription (which I never asked to nor needed to). I never received an apology, there was no admission of accidental wrong doing. I was treated not like a customer but someone who was lying and working the system. I have never been so insulted.
I will never do business with Accent on Vision again. They pride themselves on luxury but fail to give the equivalent in customer service. This is a company that has a high retail mark up to give the appearance of luxury and quality. J. Crew has better customer service.

My husband used to drive to Accent on Vision from Phoenix when we lived there for three years before we moved back down and I must say Dr. Zucker and the amazing staff are probably the reason for that. Dr. Zucker doesn’t take himself too seriously and you feel like you’re talking to a person not someone who wants to get you in and out. They have a massive selection of normal to designer frames and their sales staff is really good at helping you pick the right frame for your face.
Tip: They have a deal if you buy a years worth of contacts you get your glasses 50% off (frames, lenses, etc.).

Dr. Zucker is so nice you he knows his stuff! I would recommend him to anyone. They have good price and deals on name brand glasses and sun glasses. We were there for so long that I felt like we were buying a car. But they are very thorough with their sales and they want to make sure you are buying the right pair of glasses.

Thanks, Unilocal!There’s a reason that Accent on Vision gets five stars from four out of four Unilocalers. The atmosphere is upscale, clean, and friendly. The service is efficient and professional, and Dr. Zucker (the owner) is absolutely great. Even better, there was no hard sell for glasses or contacts at the end. They laid out my coverage limits and left all the decision making up to me.
They take all kinds of insurance, so there’s no reason to go to any big chain for an eye exam ever again.

I’ve been going to Accent on Vision since I was in 2^nd grade. I’m now a senior in college, and I still love this place.
The optometrists are so friendly and knowledgable, and they have very comfortable exam rooms. It’s a totally family-​friendly office, with big couches in the exam rooms so kids can stay with their parents. The technicians are all very professional and glad to help you find the perfect glasses.
The office itself is luxurious, with dark woods, stone, and custom windows. The selection of frames is unparalleled with both affordable options and high-​end designer frames. They carry Jai Kudo, Chanel, Michael Kors, Dior, Bulgari, D&G, and Prada. A few years ago, they started carrying a huge selection of sunglasses as well as frames. They have really excellent sales on sunglasses, so I’d recommend stopping by during a sale.
I just got new Prada frames after AOV went above and beyond, ordering several special colors from the east coast for me to try. It’s awesome to have such an accommodating optometrist’s office who spares no effort to make customers happy. I can’t imagine a better place to get glasses or contacts!

I am 30 and have worn glasses since the 3^rd grade. my experience at Accent on Vision was probably one of the best Eye Doctor /​Glasses Procurement experiences I have ever had.
First of all the Eye Exam was streamlined, everything in the office had its proper place and there was an efficient order to things that was well thought out. The doctors and tech’s were knowledgeable and friendly and they took the time to make sure the prescription was correct and accurate.
What really impressed me was not the amazing selection of frames but that the knowledgeable tech worked with me to show me options that I though were not possible given my prescription.
Let me explain, previously I had desired frames of a certain style and had had multiple eye doctors tell me this wasn’t possible because of how bad my vision was.
Accen’t on vision’s techs broke down those barriers using technology and lens-​crafting artistry that it seems few companies offer these days, and they made it happen within my budget. (I know people who have paid 3 – 4 times as much for the Same Glasses and Lenses I have in other metropolitan areas like Seattle, and Washington DC.)
I was so happy with my glasses that I have told everyone I know about this business, I will go here as long as I live in Tucson.
