Aace Glass & Tint

This place is a joke! I called to get a quote of window tinting for a 2015 Kia Optima. The guy who answered the phone had no idea. He couldn’t answer a single question. He kept telling me to hold on, while he asked some lady in the background, who you could overhear was very bothered about answering questions. All I asked was how much, brand used, and warranty. The guy on the phone was put out and completely uninterested. The lady in the background was irritated and didn’t want to help.
Plenty of other places to take my business. I wont ever do business and thankful I didn’t schedule an appointment. I’m sure the work is as bad as the customer service.

My experience with AACE was actually a couple of years ago but it’s still heavily burned in my memory. I found AACE Glass & Tint through purchasing a Groupon for window tinting. I called and booked an appointment for 1 pm on a Monday in July 2012 (figured it would be less busy on a Monday). They said it would take about three hours to do and I thought, «no problem, I’ll bring my laptop to entertain myself.»
I got to my appointment on time. The waiting room was just a couch in front of the reception desk and there was no air conditioning (it was hot in July). The bathroom was extremely filthy and there was no toilet paper so I had to hold in it. There was also no water or vending machines available so I was dehydrated.
By 4 pm (three hours later), I peeped out of the door of the waiting room and they STILL HADN’T STARTED ON MY CAR! The person at the reception desk was evasive and kept hiding in the room behind the desk because I’m sure he was embarrassed. They were finally done at around 5:30 but no one even apologized. It was an absolutely appalling and unprofessional experience at AACE.

Very unprofessional staff, very unkempt establishment, and put tint on my new windshield when I didn’t ask for it.

Very friendly and helpful! Great small business to support! From the start, Tamara helped me to get the best deal for the best price. I got my windshield replaced and my windows tinted. I came back later because my window wasn’t rolling up all the way. I was a bit hesitant to call because I had procrastinated in letting them know about it. They said no problem, they were under warranty, scheduled me in 2 days, & I was out of there in 30 mins. Very friendly and take good care of you. I have no reason to take my business anywhere else!

Please If you want your tint or glass repair done right DO NOT GO HERE!!! They damaged my paint and my whole dash inside and had be sent to another place to get repairs. Never even offered me a rental car to get to work and we live 60 miles away one way. Not even a phone call or anything from the owner and they took 3 weeks to even get my car repaired. This is not a place I would tell anyone to go to.

Purchased a Groupon for window tinting. When I got there I was pressured into upgrading the tint for more money and replacing my windshield (that didn’t really need replaced). Had to wait 2 ½ hours for the tinting to be installed — not easily done with a toddler. Ended up walking around in the heat because there’s really not a lot near by to waste time. Also, had to come back the next day for the windshield replacement. Waited another 2 hours for the replacement to be installed. Not impressed. Quality of the product is fine but the customer service was seriously lacking.

I went in today to inquire about tinting for my vehicle. I found them on Unilocal after reading their reviews, and used a groupon. Tamara was very friendly, helpful, and honest. She let me know what they could do for me, and promised to honor the quoted price if I couldn’t take care of everything right then and there. Everyone was friendly with my toddler (which does NOT always happen), and the wait was not bad at all. While I was waiting I also saw her help out a young couple who were trying to figure out what they could afford. This is a great local business and I would definitely recommend them!

Five Star Service! Replaced our windshield and tinted it in record time. They got us in and out, great work and friendly service. The 12 Free Pizzas were a nice bonus! I would recommend their great local service to anyone needing glass replacement or tinting.

Horrible tint job. Bubbles everywhere. I took my car back to have it redone under the lifetime warranty and they were supposed to replace the tint on all the windows. They said it would take three hours to do all the windows. This is a hatchback Jeep Patriot with nine windows. Three normal down each size, plus two small windows on the rear doors and the hatchback.
When I came to pick it up there were still bubbles on most of the windows. I pointed it out to the woman (Tamara) and she said we didn’t do that window. We only did four. I said you were supposed to do them all and she didn’t say anything. There is also bubbles in the replacement tint.
Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. Not only do they do lousy tint work, they encourage people to call in window replacements for chips that can be filled. Would that not qualify as insurance fraud?

Great Service! Very Helpful! We had purchased a groupon and we could not be happier. We had purchased the 5 window for our Honda Civic sedan when we got there we were told that the side panel windows are considered a separate window but they worked with us and we got the upgraded tint! ITS AMAZING. We then mentioned that our other vehicle had a crack in the windshield and the lady at the front got all of our info and set an appointment for them to come to our house and get that fixed they also put a tint strip on the windshield for us! Wanting to go back for a other vehicle and get tint too!

I was convinced I needed my windshiled replace, I was also guareented I was going to get a orignal glass for my make of car along with a tint stip I had paid to have it put on a few years back, I was told I would get this strip also replaced no extra charge, this work was done on a monday the glass looks great but still waiting for the tint strip I was told I was going to get it, I was given the run around today its been 1 week and still no tint strip, I’m told someone will call me, still waiting I will never go back to them, the first appt. was looked over they never called to let me know that no one was going to show so I waited almost all day, then I called thats when I was informed no one was going to come out to replace my windshield, so another appt. was made they showed and the job was well done but I’m still waiting for the tint strip to be replaced, called today 1 week later got more run around, oh did they call you. emmm no! I’m no longer going back to them nor will I ever reccommend them to my friends, a good company follows thru with the job they don’t leave customers hanging… they did!

I called all around Tucson trying to find a place that would remove old discolored tint and replace it with new tint. After being quoted between 200 – 480, from numerous auto tinters, I called AACE and the girl who answered was really nice. AACE quoted be less then 200 for removal and re-​tint, using brand name good tine. I had driven by AACE on Grant many times and never looked twice. Everyone else told me they would need the car all day and complained and wanted to charge more because the rear window had defrosters, blah blah blah. I showed up and found the shop to be nice and clean, and the employees were really friendly. Everything they told me turned out to be true. The owner was there and was very nice. The employees all seemed happy and were clean and professional. Overall I was very impressed with the staff. They told me it would take a couple hours at least and they got it done in way less then that. Best thing about it is I watched them do re-​tint it standing outside the bay. These guys were super respectful to my car which is HUGH to me. They cleaned up nicely and explained everything to me in detail. After it was all said and done the tint job was better then I expected. There is no such thing as a perfect tint but these guys did a great job. I will go back and would recommend them!

Good service a few flaws with the service, but they fixed it for free. I felt like it was a little pricey for window tinting but I can’t complain about the good job.

I was approached by a man employed by AACE at a car wash. Unsolicited he told me I had dangerous chips in my windshield. He asked to run my insurance but I declined, immediately uncomfortable with the fact that he was obviously at the car wash just to get business. I took his card and told him I would call after I talked it over with my husband (mostly an excuse just to get him to move on to someone else). I took the car to another auto glass place of my choosing the very next day to verify what this guy from AACE had said. The technician told me there were no chips in my windshield AT ALL. Either this guy from AACE really had no idea how to do his job OR he was scamming me because I was a woman alone at a car wash. Either way, it is not ethical to prey on people’s fears about their safety in order to get business.

We had a Groupon deal to claim for our SUV and made an appointment for the next day. When we arrived, we found out that Javier, the office manager had ‘forgotten’ to call to let us know that he wouldn’t be able to schedule us in after all.
Kevin the other manager on site took us in after asking if we could return the following day, (We said no) with profuse apologies for the mis-​communication and we were next in queue after the car that was being worked on. The installer, Santiago (15 years experience, he really knows his stuff) did a fabulous job tinting our windows and striping our windshield.
They do need to improve on their communication, between installers and site managers, Santiago missed the 2 rear panes (ones that do not roll down) in the middle row, we came back the following week to get those done. I also suspect confusion due to the Groupon deal, read my note below. **
That being said, we were so pleased with the job he did when we came back the following week, we decided to do the 2 windows that were not covered by the Groupon deal. His brother Pepe wasn’t there the first appointment but there for the 2^nd, between the both of them we were in and out within ½ hour.
Credit card charges are run through by the office on Main via phone call, and the receipt you receive doesn’t say AACE Glass on it, but we’re assured that with the lifetime warranty, just mention your phone number, and you’re covered nationwide for as long as you own the vehicle.
Oh and did I mention that they do all the tinting for the TPD? That was why we were bumped off our first appointment, Pepe was off doing a job for them.
The waiting room was a little dreary, it obviously doesn’t have a woman’s touch. LOL.
So in summary, if you don’t need the free coffee and piped in music in waiting room and frills, this is the place for you. The 2 installers know their stuff, just don’t be put off by the location and bursqueness of Javier. Come in knowing what you want, stand your ground and you’ll be fine.
**As a side note, Groupon covers 7 windows tinted for SUVs. AACE counts each individual PANE as a window. I blame Groupon’s wording, if they offered the Groupon at a higher rate, covering all panes and offering the tint upgrade as an option, that would have been more acceptable. Still, $ 99 for tint, a $ 30 upgrade to tint colour and expect an extra $ 15 per pane is not half bad.

The staff initially comes off as a tad pretentious, but I am a lanky white college student and they probably are used to working with customers who have crazy modded trucks, lowriders and bimmers looking for a limo blackout tint, which is where they excel.
I had my 4 door SUV tinted 18% all around and could not be happier with the quality of the film three years later, not to mention their customer service. When the young kid salesman was pitching the tint by AACE (next to the Arizona Auto Spa auto-​carwash facility) he mentioned they have lifetime warranty on workmanship.
The install was only 45 mins and after the drying period (during az summer) the films were crystal clear no imperfections and my vehicle looked clean and uniform, loved the black windows and clean uniform look from tailgate to drivers window. They even threw in a strip along the top of the windshield.
A year after installation the film at the bottom of the passenger window where it meets the inside weather strip started lifting and peeling every time you rolled the window down. Taking it to the shop with the original receipt, they honored the repair no questions, they first tried re-​gluing the piece back down and tucking under the weather strip. This failed after a year and I brought it back. They immediately took me in and replaced the entire front pass window piece in less than 30 mins while i waited.
I hear they also detail, I may try them out for that because groupon.

Purchased their Groupon deal and had a great experience! The tint job is great and was done very professionally. They did a great job replacing our rear glass when they discovered that it was damaged by another company that we got to remove the old tint. Mark and Javier are very nice and you can definitely tell they care about their customers. They went above and beyond for us and we will definitely use them again in the future.

Aace glass replaced my front, driver side window. After he was done, I tried rolling it up and down, and it moved VERY slowly. When I asked him for an explanation, he told me the glass was a little thicker than usual and that it would get better with time. Well it did not. In fact, it quit working altogether. I took it to their grant location and one of their people confirmed that it was thicker than normal. Upon calling to get this resolved, they had me come to their downtown office and sit for two hours. After two hours of old magazines a guy comes out swears its impossible for the glass to be too thick and asks me if I want to pay $ 200 for him to fix the window. Thanks a lot Aace glass. :(

I had tinting done here. It took less time than quoted. The manager was very knowledgeable about the tint and described all the options perfectly. He even went outside in the rain with me to make sure what I saw, I approved. Am considering the UV kit for my windshield. When I made my appointment over the phone, she was very nice and polite. And when I completely screwed up by rolling down the windows prematurely (mgr explained to wait 3 full days before rolling them down), I called them and she let me know it would be ideal to come right back and they can fix it for me right away.
This was a seamless experience and would definitely do business again.
